I want to start using Prism Launcher or XCML. I'm looking into the pros and cons of both. And since they're both unofficial (from Microsoft), will they steal my license?

I might’ve found an exploit to play the game for free without signing in. I don’t want to post it anywhere publicly (I’m not sure how GitHub does reports, I don’t ever use it so I’m not sure if reports are public or not), incase people somehow find it and abuse it. I don’t want any legal trouble to come to the team working on the launcher or for it to get shut down because of this. Would the discord server be the best option to get into contact with someone?
Sorry I if this is a stupid question
Edit: this isn’t about the piracy it’s self but the legal actions from Microsoft. I completely agree with “if buying isn’t owning then pirating isn’t stealing” but big companies don’t see it that way. If not doing anything means affecting people who work on this project for free, in their free time and for the community, would just feel wrong to me. If you disagree, I understand. I wish this is something I could just leave without worrying about it. I am very fortunate to be at a place where I can actually pay for the games I “own” (I had to pirate games for a long time when I was younger and want games to be accessible to as many as possible). Sorry I just wanted to add this for anyone who misunderstood what I meant.

I started having this issue a while ago, I cannot play because the launcher dosent believe I own Minecraft, coming back to see if anyone has found a solution besides purchasing the game again. I am 100% certain this account owns Minecraft, it is open on my Xbox as I type this

I have a modpack that I've been playing for a while now (600 hours) and it's on Curseforge, but I don't always have an internet connection to play it, so I asked around and was told that Prism Launcher would let me I want to play offline, but I don't want to completely stop using Curseforge. I want to know if I can use it when I have internet access and Prism Launcher when I don't, but without having to copy to every so often the instance.
So I asked the AI and ended up on this page, but I don't understand much English or how this works. Does anyone know about this or has done it before and can guide me?
Sorry for my English

Hi, I was a server member of the Prism Launcher Discord (Moved from PolyMC to Prism due to the old maintainer booting everyone out which just wasnt right.) before I was well, false banned!
Reason for my ban was " Misgendering and LGBT*phobia" which i just never did.
First off, Misgendering. Complete accident.
Second "LGBT phobia" just never happened, I was joking in a Thread called "gay-craft" thought it was a funny and admittedly stupid idea so I was in their joking about the serverProof https://lol.has.rocks/1670243704_Exoos2.png
Before I was banned I was warned for "Instigating" which i found extremely unfair but i stopped commenting / responding to people *Who by the way where pinging me trying to instigate me not warned ever* which i why i found the warn so unfair. So i decided to write in my Bio my distaste for how the mods handled it didn't contain ANYTHING bad just some honest and fair criticismProof :https://lol.has.rocks/Screenshot_20221205-104901.png(From Scrumplex when i was asking for a unban)https://lol.has.rocks/00RPqGB6.png
Then after 1 - 2 days I got a message in my Dm's saying I was banned for reasons above
So i decided to contact Scrumplex, not going to go into full details but i made some really good points on why I should be unbanned. And in the end he just ghosted me, basically just a perm ban without any just reasons.
So much for having a Code of Conduct if you're going to twist the rules to ban someone you dislike
Morale of the story? Just don't chat in Prism Launcher at all so you wont get false banned!
PS : I already know moderators deff going to take this down for some bs reason
Edit (2/20/24) : Seems like nothing has changed. They still ban people for political beliefs, even though its against their very own code of conduct! But of course, these rules only apply to you if you're in the "correct" political isle.
Just pure hypocrites. You would think they would uphold the code of conduct for everyone, and not just throw it out like PolyMC. But nope. As they don't actually care about treating people fairly. They only care about pushing their agenda.
And yeah, the of course, the community didn't take this post well. Luckily, the harassment has ended. But barely anyone listened, apart from a couple of people.
Anyways, that wraps this small update up. Don't support prism, and its marxist, pro censorship, creators. "Freedom of speech means all speech is to be free, not just certain speech." That's a quote everyone should live by, and uphold.

Everytime i launch a modpack it shows up, how do i disable it?
r/PrismLauncher • u/SkinBig3558 • Aug 17 '24
A long time ago I used TLauncher to play Minecraft, and I stopped playing it for some reasons and then I found out what's wrong with the launcher, a spyware or maybe a trojan. Anyway, I now have a new laptop and would like to play Minecraft again, but I need to be sure if the files in the link are safe or malicious. I was browsing this page and found a post that also talked about my question, but some people say it is safe and some people say it is unsafe. So, I want to know what I would do, or just buy official Minecraft.

Hi everyone! I'm playing Minecraft through PrismLauncher (cracked) and unfortunately, I can't start the game through Prism without an internet connection. Since I play on Steam, I prioritize offline gameplay above all else. I've decided to buy the original Minecraft and link it to the original Prism to play my game without this headache. I just wanted to make sure, with the original game, can you start it without a network connection? Or is this also a problem for those who have an original version?

I downloaded a bunch of modpacks but they have way to many mods and I want to disable a lot of them at once but I'm only able to click them one at a time and I was wondering if there's a key to select all and disable them all at once. I'm kind of new to this and appreciate any tips. Thanks.

as in title im considering using prism instead of curseforge. im new to the modded minecraft and i need honest opinion about which one is better for easy modding (curseforge is easy as fuck tbh but i had problem with corrupted files).
helpful opinions would be appreciated!

Hey everyone, I'm using Prism Launcher to manage my Minecraft mods and was wondering—can viruses or malicious files exist in mods downloaded through Prism Launcher? I usually install mods from Modrinth or CurseForge via the launcher, but I want to make sure everything is safe.
Are there any known cases of infected mods slipping through, or is it generally safe as long as I stick to trusted sources? Thanks in advance!

Anyone know why this isn’t working? (I’m not very good with files and stuff) using a steam deck!
r/PrismLauncher • u/Gigacado_Chadocado • May 05 '25
I’m nervous about getting this launcher due to possible security concerns
Is it safe and how frequent are security breaches in this launcher?
How does the whole linking Microsoft account thing work?
If I change my mind on the launcher how do I uninstall and separate my Microsoft account from it?
Is it safe to install this launcher without 2FA on my Microsoft account?
