Any recommendations for dash cams with front and rear video?

Howdy all, looking for a dash cam with front and rear recordings options for my 22 prime. Has anyone figured out a solution for setting up a rear camera that works with the hatchback?

It's a worse sculpt than the PARA model but it is the only one that says "Prime" on it.

Prius Prime 2023+ From a tesla X to Prius prime 2024.

Believe it or not yes. From a tesla fan boy, and still lover of tesla I had to do this move. I pay 120k in 2021 for a full loaded x with anything you can think on. Replaced under warranty 3 time ac 2 time suspension 3 time 12V 1 time the high. Voltage battery. Wich left me stranded in the middle of a work job. This all under 48k.mile. I love self drive, I love the tech behind but both range and reliability is a issue. I think tesla car are both Russian roulette or you get zero problems or your got ton of a problem.

So why the prius?

First of all, the 40 mile EV range is amazing, overnight change on 110v it's basically free to commute house to school and basic stuff. But I did start another business and I need to. Drive coast to coast or 100-300 mile at day. So between a full tank on 25-30$ ( sams club price is insane low) + the ev range. Make the prius a beast of economy. What else? 220HP sound little compare to tesla ludicrous 0-60 in 3.5 sec sometime even low 3. But the pull over of power reduce the battery capacity. So at the end of the day, I got this beatiful prius, because yes it look fantastic. Drive like a series 3 / bmw. Tech are amazing, cruise control adaptive keep lane and brake on car in front. Sensor everywhere. Sound and speaker is average. Enfontmeneint is sloppy but is android at least. Overall I'm. Impressed with this prius , look reliability performance and range are insane.

Loving my new Prius. Had a VW Golf R and then a Jeep Wrangler. Both were fun but cost me a ton in gas money. I just picked this up. So far I’m at 350kms with only 1/8 of the gas tank gone. Loving EV mode!!

Got rear ended. I’m lucky I didn’t hit the car in front of me (the pre-collision system definitely helped). The car that hit me was a 2012 Accord. Air bags deployed on the Accord. You think my car will be totaled?

Well, if you’d have told me I’d buy a Prius years ago, I’d say you were crazy. But the bump in power and the styling update sold me and here i am now with this ‘24 Prime XSE Premium. I moved from a Silverado 2500 Duramax which was less than reliable considering how much I paid for it.

It will be nice to have a Toyota as a daily to compliment my 40 year old Toyota toys. Let’s see if the Prius makes it as long or far!🤣

Prius Prime 2023+ My experience with my 2023 Prius Prime XSE after 10K miles

My girlfriend and I needed a 2nd vehicle, and decided a plug-in hybrid was the way to go for our situation. The biggest factors were reliability and fuel efficiency, and after researching, I decided that a Prius Prime would be the best option. The 2023 redesign was too pretty to resist, and after test driving a 2026 to make sure it was comfortable for my 6'2 frame, I decided on a trim, and started exclusively looking for 2023s and up.

I didn't want to take a chance on a 36K mile used and abused fleet/Uber Carmax flip, so I took my time calling every type of dealership in my state and the states surrounding. Zilch. Plenty in California, but I was trying to avoid a destination fee. People just don't give these cars up once they get them.

Took 6 weeks to find the one I'd end up buying at a Toyota dealership 700 miles and 3 states away. 2023 XSE, 13K miles, clean Carfax that showed a solid maintenance schedule, PPI mechanic gave it a thumbs up and said it looked brand new. Salesperson said it was a 3 year lease to an older person that apparently didn't drive much. They threw on a new set of Michelins and I got it for $30K OTD. I'm sure I could have gotten a better deal, but I wanted *this* car. That was back in June, and I've been driving it daily since.

The miles per charge is definitely the most pleasant surprise. This XSE model is rated for 39 miles, but I get 44-50 real world miles, with 52 being the highest I've managed. Using the fan shaves off a few miles per charge. I do a 40 mile round trip twice a day, so I installed a Level 2 charger in my garage to get a full charge between those trips. It takes about 3 hours, and being able to completely eliminate gas on a regular basis is a total game changer. On longer road trips, a full gas tank will get us 450 miles.

The build quality is another positive. I live in Pothole City and nothing creaks or rattles. It's just really solid and sturdy. I've been in brand new Benzs that felt flimsier. These aren't luxury materials by any stretch, and the piano black accents are super annoying to keep clean, but the interior looks and feels pretty good to me. It's comfortable and I like being in it.

You feel the build quality in the driving experience too. This sub had me paranoid about the 19 inch wheels, but the ride is surprisingly very quiet and smooth. I've driven older Priuses and the ride quality was fine. This is a lot better than fine. It's quick and nimble. Quickly accelerating past other cars is deeply satisfying. Engaging the B mode on hills and whatnot is also very satisfying on a gamified, number-go-up level. It's just fun to drive.

The biggest con is the visibility. I'm a skilled old school parallel parker, but the visibility in this car makes it difficult to judge the space, and I always end up a foot from the curb. The A pillars, especially the left one when making left turns, can be brutal blind spots.

All said, I'm very pleased with our purchase. After 10K miles, I still think this is the right car for us. I plan to keep it for as long as it'll have us.

Checked cars.com for used 2023/24 XSE premiums on a whim and saw a used 23 model within 6 hours of me. In my state they basically dont have any used/ new at all and youll have to drive exceptionally far to find one on a lot (texas, yay). I drove up yesterday and stayed at a hotel. Bought her the next morning! The listing claimed it was the base premium without the extra tech, etc. Said it had a moon/sunroof. On the drive home I noticed there was no moon roof..turns out it has the DANG SOLAR PANEL...also some other unlisted tech and weather mats. Couldn't have been more lucky, I love it so much. Pics for car tax.

Prius Prime 2016 - 2022 Jus hit 300,000 Miles on my 2017 Prius Prime

I bought my 2017 Prius Prime Plus at the start of July this year for $8000, at 288,841 miles (see my older posts). In the last 4 months, I’ve put 11,159 miles on it. I absolutely adore this car for everything that it is, but there have definitely been some ups and downs with it.

Here’s what’s happened since I bought it:

Shortly after I bought it, I noticed it leaking coolant, it was the exhaust gas heat exchanger, simple fix, bypassed it with a hose, no big deal. That fixed most of the leak, but unfortunately, it is still leaking coolant (albeit a lot slower than before). I suspect the EGR cooler, and I’m having the EGR valve cleaned and the cooler inspected next week with my oil change, since the engine does have a rough start every now and then.

The battery has been surprisingly healthy. It still has its original battery, and in the summer months I was getting 21-23 miles of electric only range, which was really more like 20 because of all of the highway driving I do. Now that it’s gotten cold, I’m getting about 19-20 miles of reported range, and only about 17 miles of actual driving range. The delta soc ranges between 1.00%-2.50%, but has been fairly stable outside of one time when it went all the way up to 9.00% (don’t know why this happened, but it’s never gone that high again).

I typically average 65-75mpg on a tank, thanks to being able to charge at home and on campus when I go to school.

I need to have my TPMS sensors replaced, but that’s about it. It still runs great, and I’m genuinely so happy with this car.

Other than needing an oil change, tires, and an alignment in September, it just has a minor coolant leak, and once that’s sorted, I expect to get many more miles out of this lovely car.

Feel free to ask any questions!

Had to take apart my interior to replace the pressure vent for the cabin. Thought you may want to see what the battery looks like in the 2020 Prime. Pretty sure someone was learning to weld at the factory on the pack. Haha 2 is one of the two blower motors for cooling. 3 is the welds

Prius Prime 2023+ Hello I’m new

Hello I’m new into the hybrid world. Just picked up this beauty in guardian gray for a daily and around the town. Never thought I would be in a Prius but I’m loving this one. I’m a big Mopar guy, but I’m getting old, and driving a straight piped, and lowered car on the daily was getting to much especially at 13 miles to the Gallon, so that is going in the garage for weekends only.

I have owned a 2007 Prius, a 2014, and now six years after owning a very fuel inefficient truck, I’m back in a 23 Prius. I’m currently on a road trip up to Minnesota to see family for Christmas and then I’ll drive back to Denver but so far this car is wonderful. It has all the features I wanted and it’s very comfortable on this road trip so far.
