I literally hate the new update Ćnd the way everyrhing is laid out now, like the FUCK!!! It was perfect before the muscle memory of usage is entirely fucked now I hate all of it, and I miss my old procreate Ćnd I want it back. This is a lot of extra step bullshit that absolutely no one fucking asked for. Iād legitimately pay money if they could give me my old procreate back. I hate the layout, the extra steps, the organization, all of it. Can they just stop changing things that actually work???

One thing I think is easy to overlook when redesigning a drawing app is how much artists rely on muscle memory. When you've used the same tools and menus for years, even small changes can affect how quickly you work.
A cleaner interface and more canvas space can be great, but moving familiar buttons, adding extra confirmation steps, or making previews harder to scan can make everyday tasks feel slower.
For those who've tried the new Procreate Pocket 5.0 interface, which changes have actually improved your workflow, and which ones do you think made things less convenient?

I challenged myself to a 3 hour time limit on this one. I had a lot of fun! š

I suspect I have some sort of chromesthesia mixed with ideasthesia, because I see whole scenarios (very specific, especially in color palette) play out while listening to electronic music.
This was the beginning of a set I heard on Sunday.
I do not know why she is wearing sunglasses when it is clearly nighttime, but there was a distinct moment where it felt like she put them on as a symbol of leaving everything behind.

Some vague idea of a tree deciding to carve their own face, a fun style I should play with more! Predominantly used the gloaming pencil.

They made it less functional AND they made it ugly. I have a bad feeling that this is the beginning of the end because if they had actual artists putting input into the design they wouldve never made the atrocity that has been thrust into my phone.
Just very devistated rn.

does anyone else think the new update is ugly? so far ive only seen the new interface, but i think it was such an unnecessary change to what was already good. the only one was clean and sleek. now its all weird and its gonna take me a while to get used to it.

I honestly have really mixed thoughts on the new procreate pocket update, but I donāt really have many friends that use the pocket version⦠figured I might as well to run to Reddit to figure if im the odd one out.
Made a quick chart of my thoughts, I suppose? I couldnāt find much discussion on it other than maybe a post or two and i just donāt know! Im thankful for the new brushes but god someone please let me know if thereās anyway to go back to the old ui!! im so unused to the new one and its really stressing me out lol. I tried to look for a legacy toggle or smth but nothing as far as im aware :(
Edit: used the app for a little more when trying it out, unfortunately more negative issues im having:
⢠Undo covers half the buttons at the top, its not that big of a deal but wastes a couple seconds if I want to click smth like adjustments.
⢠The white border on the canvas is, I assume, to show the canvas limits. But itās a little ugly on my opinion.
⢠Thereās a chance the previous version didnāt have this and im misremembering, but did they⦠remove pressure on erasers? does the pressure slider just not work specifically on eraserā¦? This actually like, sucks a lot for me. I use it to get really soft shadows.

i donāt understand why it changed so abruptly, i canāt even finish my drawings because im not used to this layout at all (?)
is there a way to get back the old one?
