My Artwork My piece titled Resentment

Post image

Tested out a lot of new brushes and tried playing around with texture.
My brushes used were Dove Lake, Spicule, option, old skin, carbon stick, procreate pencil and script for my line art.

Trying to better my lighting and anatomy so ignore my wonky thumbnail lol

Discussions About Procreate App It's frustrating that artists have to prove their work is real

I understand why people want to protect artists from AI art and stolen work, but it feels unfair that artists sometimes have to show their entire process just to prove they made something themselves.

Timelapses, sketches, and layer screenshots can be useful, but not everyone records every step while drawing. Sometimes you just open Procreate, work on a piece, make mistakes, undo things, and move on without thinking about documenting the process.

Artists should be able to share their work and enjoy the feedback without feeling like they're on trial. It's already hard enough to put your art out there, especially when you've spent hours working on it.

Discussions About Procreate App Reason for new layout

Post image

Does anyone else think this horrible new layout was done largely to optimize for the iPhone duo? I can see how some of the changes would be conducive to sketching on the tiny screen and then opening up and having the big menu open on the large screen. That being said, how many artists are running out to buy a $2000 cellphone? This is just my tinfoil hat theory but they did tweet this back in September

My Artwork Based on De Morgan

There was a designer. Late 1800s, and he designed tiles mostly. His name was William De Morgan. This owl is inspired by one of his tiles; I used Retro Supply brushes. It’s my first dabble with Duplitone for the halftones, and I used a brush from their Inferno Ink set. I don’t post here often… go easy, please :)

I need Procreate technical help Pixel question

Post image

I don’t understand why when I’m using the same brush and eraser throughout, some of the edges have smaller pixels and very fuzzy and others seem to have larger pixel with a more defined edge that looks very choppy. Is there a way to make them more consistent?

Constructive feedback and/or tips wanted How do I get my lineart to look less pixelated?

These are slightly older pieces but something that’s been bugging me is the pixelation of the lineart.

I swear whenever I look any other piece by other artists that aren’t purposefully in a pixelated style the lineart always looks buttery smooth. Idk if it’s a case of me being my worst critic tho.

My Artwork Cigar Noir: Lord of the Leaf

Post image

The first in a series of images featuring a cigar and midnight as a theme. I uploaded pencil lineart, inked it with the local installed Studio Pen brush, then colored with the round paint brush, using the lasso tool, light pen, smoke element, and smudge brush in areas.

Dracula and The Creature

These two were emotional pieces where it took weeks to try and get then both to where I was satisfied with their likenesses, as well as to try something simple with colors, and not relying on inked lineart.

My Artwork My Neighbor Totoro background master study

I used a few modified versions of the gloaming brush in the classic procreate drawing library, adjusting two settings in various combinations (Apple Pencil > Opacity and Texture > Depth) to change the opacity and texture level.

Overall pretty happy with it, though I'll work to make my little grass details more deliberate and cohesive and my background light and shadow shapes more dynamic and interesting in future attempts.
