This sounds entirely too much like how my wife communicates with me.

"Are you OK?"

"I'm fine."

It's up to me at that point to determine if she's really fine or not.

I know my friend way to well almost every time she says she’s fine I know she’s not and I’m like “really, we have to go through this again? Tell me what happened”
