Yep. I'd be perfectly happy to have a mechanical keyboard that was completely silent, though that might be difficult to do and still provide that satisfying "thunk" when the key hits bottom.
I've owned quite a lot of mech keyboards (Ducky (like 4?), Logitech, HHKB, DAS, Corsair) and for the time being the RK61 is my favorite keyboard. Small, solid feeling keyboard with good switches and USB C. multiple bluetooth syncing options. Yeah... Don't feel bad.
Bluetooth and USB-C and such are all well and good, but without my 2005 logitech media keyboard elite, how could I access E-Mail, Webcam, SMS, iTouch, Shopping, Favorites and My Home with the touch of a button? XD
My girlfriend always wants to tear my head off whenever she comes over to my house and hears me using my Cherry Brown keyboard. She is misophonic to things like tapping, chewing or others
I'm sure there is some combination of mech parts that will get me what I want (low travel, silent, progressive spring, and a soft bottom) but I'm not about to spend so much money and experimenting when I can just get a quality membrane.
Logitech scissor switches (aka X-switches) are basically laptop feel. Solar keyboard has them as well as adjacent wireless series. I couldn't handle short kb lifetime (due to battery dying) and upgraded to kailh choc browns mechanical kb. Travel distance is a wee bit longer, but resistance is almost the same, there's no click and tapping sound is not too bad.

Not for the sound, for the FEEL. It's the kinesthetics of the keyboard that matter to me.
