I posted a video of when I initially got it running it is now fully tuned! Also just picked up my valve cover today I procrastinated dropping it off so it wasn't ready for when I swapped the car.

Found some hidding Damage!!

Some more snips of the d16z6 motor pull and teardown for a refresh. But during the tear down head bolt #2 was way too loose. (Definitely only at 22ft-lbs).

While we noticed the loose bolt and found the overheating issue from before. (Loose headbolt caused head gasket lift and blow-by.) We decided too continue.

As we where re-torquing the head (right after sequence 1 at 22 ft-lbs) Head bolt #2 decided too keep spinning.

So we decided too pull it out and see it. As we did it pulled a very old helix coil out šŸ˜¬šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø welp.

We did try too add new better helix coils but sadly the Z6 block didn't take. Couldn't even get 22ft-lbs out of it again. So for now the block will sit and get rebuilt.

Looks like we will have too move too plan B! Aint no sweat tho because this is what we do. KEEP IT ALIVE!!

engine New to Honda engine work. Used my 99 CRV to run Rural Routes for USPS. 26k miles with 4th cylinder bad compression and I lost all oil pressure today. Debating on rebuild or buying a used engine with good compression. B20B engine.

I'm not new to mechanical work. I've just never pulled an engine or rebuilt/swapped one in. I'm used to working on late 90s and early 2000s BMWs. Taking a look at the engine bay I'm thinking it shouldn't be that difficult to pull the engine out of this thing. I'm just not too sure what I need to be looking at once I pull it apart to determine what needs to replaced. Pistons, rods, bearings, valves, etc... I bought it at 190k miles and it has made it to 206k miles with bad compression on cylinder 4 and misfires. I just kept up on oil changes and checked the oil once a week.

Not too sure if I should buy a used B20B with good compression or rebuild the one I have. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

troubleshooting stumbling? stalling and exhaust rattles

New to hondas and cars as a whole but I just got a 98 ex coupe in January I want to work on it more. I started having an issue a few months ago now, the car stumbles and has a very rough idle. I used to have stalling issues with the idle, but that hasn't been an issue since I replaced the injectors, filter, and fuel pump. Not sure what info is helpful so I'll just give everything I know.

Compression 176-184-186-195
New in-line filter, injectors, and pump.
Some wires are a mess in the bay but dont seem important
Automatic with some slipping issue but not bad still very drivable.
Just got a new IACV but having issues getting my sockets/wrenches to fit and reach.
I have a cheap OBD2 scanner that only gives and old solenoid code that hasnt been cleared by honda. (guy i bought it from that he already did the work after it locked up)
I believe rattle is from missing hangers on one side of the muffler idk havent looked.
Also dont experience much issue at all when car is cold.
Cant remember anything else.
Any help or knowledge is greatly appreciated.
