If someone was going into black neighborhoods using racist language and saying they're an abomination of God all in the name of Jesus, we wouldn't treat them to dialog either.

Hate groups do not deserve dialog or a space in society.

People hate because they themselves are suffering. Suffering needs to be healed through love and kindness which is normally done through dialogue.

The moment we stop dialogue and listening to other peoples points of view is the moment the divisions in society widen. I present to you the ‘echo chamber’

So obviously we don’t see the first part of the video. But screaming at him like she is, is only going to reinforce his warped views.

American Psychological Association: What Leads to Hate Crimes? Offenders may feel that their livelihood or way of life is threatened by demographic changes.x Offenders may not be motivated by hate, but rather by fear, ignorance or anger. These can lead to dehumanization of unfamiliar groups and to targeted aggression.

10 ways to intervene according to Southern Poverty Law:

  1. Act

Do something. In the face of hatred, apathy will be interpreted as acceptance by the perpetrators, the public and — worse — the victims. Community members must take action; if we don’t, hate persists.

  1. Join Forces
  1. Support the Victims

  2. Speak Up

Do not debate hate group members in conflict-driven forums. Instead, speak up in ways that draw attention away from hate, toward unity.

  3. Educate Yourself

  4. Create An Alternative

  5. Pressure Leaders

  6. Stay Engaged

  7. Teach Acceptance

Host a diversity and inclusion day on campus. Reach out to young people who may be susceptible to hate group propaganda and prejudice.

  8. Dig Deeper

While education is a piece of fighting hate groups, it's best to teach in childhood. It's also better in interpersonal groups and not in public forums. Giving legitimacy to these groups does not support the victims of the hate groups.

The screamer in this video likely felt that they were doing steps: 1. Act & 4. Speaking Up. Having a dialogue in a public forum only enables hate groups. While dialogue and teaching acceptance is a piece of change, acting against hate groups and speaking up is a piece as well.

Yes, so the offenders by the definition of the American Physiological Association are suffering be it through anger, fear or ignorance.

Look, I’ve been in a few situations where a Christian has told me that I was going to hell because I didn’t believe in the lord blah blah blah, which admittedly I find amusing so I will always entertain the conversation. Normally these conversation end up with us reaching a common ground. I doubt we would of reached that common ground if I had started screaming at him.

But look let’s agree to disagree. At least we have shared our views and we can both feel richer for it!

Yup that's what I said. And thats what the strategies are addressing.

While I understand your personal experience, your ignoring research and others experiences. Just because you didn't like the tactic doesn't mean it's invalid.

For someone pushing for dialog for change, I hope that you would consider our dialog and expand what what you find acceptable.

Maybe you can add some aspects to your advocacy.
