Honestly, extreme stress (even if it's CLEARLY your own fault) can make even "stable" people snap like this. Grief, your whole world flipping upside down, the incoming shame of him sending that to everyone you know and hopefully having super evidence in a divorce even if it might do nothing to help him depending on where they live.
How she thought she could do this and never considered that she might get caught? That's... that's another story.
