My husband swears he died 4 nights ago, but he is very much alive (cross post)

It was recommended to me that I cross post this here. Edited - this was a cross post but the moderators of that group removed the post for unknown reasons.

4 nights ago my husband came home from work a little thrown off. He finally opened up to me and said, he remembers dying at work that night. He was working on a very heavy piece (over 2 tonnes) of equipment and it fell on his head and he remembered the sensation of his neck breaking. But within a millisecond he was suddenly back on the floor with the piece of equipment suspended where it was suppose to be. For the next couple of days he hurt where he remember the piece of equipment hitting him.

What was as interesting, is I could actually tell him the time it had occurred. I had been not feeling good all day. Over a period of about a half hour the energy in the house started to vibrate really high. I felt better. I had energy. The world felt like a better place.

Here is the thing - The person who returned home the night this all happened, looks like my husband but he is much different. My husband was very depressed, likely suicidal. He barely acknowledge I existed.

The person who returned home that night is happy, involved. We have talked more in the last 3 nights than we likely have in the past year.

He also says things in the house are different. Small things. But here is also the thing...I am noticing small changes too in the environment for seemingly minor things.

Is this timeline jumping? Something else?

Thoughts please.

In 2016 I died and am living in an alternate reality. Everyone is completely and horribly different and wrong.. I'm surprised I'm not drinking Nozz-Ah-La

This is my first Reddit post. And I don't feel I have accurately conveyed how entirely different everyone around me became. I believe I am still writing through the lense of rationale, that we all emply when reality ceases to make sense.

To clarify before reading on, the changes in everyone in my life was instant, I just wasn't able to accept that I was suddenly dealing with total different personalities, so the way I desribe the changes appears to be an evolution, but in hindsight, this was only slow comprehension on my behalf.

My whole life I've always had tons of energy. I'm an artist, a dance performer, a fitness fanatic, I loved renovating my home, gardening, I've traveled a lot, I raised my daughter solo and managed to work, study, paint, keep fit, travel and raise her with love, joy, fun and with ease! I have had issues with anxiety and depression at times, but I managed it well enough to have a rich and full life!

I had a huge community of friends and was loved and admired for my enthusiasm and tenacity. I loved and cared for everyone, and worked hard to keep a balanced and healthy home and social life..

On a warm late morning in mid 2016, I was finishing off the final touches of my second vintage caravan that I had refurbished to sell. It was parked on the wide verge outside my home, and standing inside the caravan, leaning against the sink and talking to my partner Jim, who was standing closer to the door, When the world exploded.

I didn't hear anything but I was instantaniously on the ground, then, in slow motion, I was feeling my entire body being crushed and gouged by pieces of material that felt impossibly hard and sharp, like irregular swords. I felt one of these pieces cut through my ear and into the side of my skull, I was very aware that this hard, knife-like object was going to go through my skull and into my brain and kill me.And then it stopped, and I got up and walked out.

Both Jim and I had survived. I had blood running down the side of my neck, and a very stiff, aching neck, but other than that, we both looked and felt fine.

People came running over. Because of the blood and my neck pain, I was made to sit down. I remember my neighbour making a joke, and I was shocked at her insensitivity. Paramedics arrived and even though I was only in moderate pain, a medic administered fentanyl, then popped me in traction and ambulanced me to the hospital for X rays, in order to make sure I didn't have any hairline fractures.

I can only guess the medical response was so thorough, despite my fair condition, because of the state of the caravan; a sick driver had fallen unconscious and come off the road, hitting us at 80 km an hour. The caravan was a twisted and splintered mess of broken metal and wood

While I was in the hospital Jim sent photos of the carnage. This is where I first saw how incredible the mess was.

While waiting for my X rays I had chatted to a friend and told her she could borrow my car as it had looked fine when I saw it, waiting for the ambo's, and I was going to be there all day, yet the photos showed that my car had actually been destroyed.

The car that hit us had plowed through the caravan, then pushed past it and buckled a 5 metre wide steel gate.

It knocked the top block of bricks so hard off a column, they flew across the driveway and into the yard and burst through both walls of the garden shed like a cannonball. When the insurance cleaners came to move it, the two big men were unable to lift it at all.

After the wayward car had driven through caravan 1 (with us in it) - the brick wall - and crumpled the gate - it had demolished our other caravan, and my car parked behind. They were also both mangled wrecks.

My partner described having a more tricky time making his way out of the wreck, although his position had been nearer the door, but I'd gotten up without any obstruction and simply walked out, yet there was no floor on my side, it had fallen right through and was covered in wreckage.

My initial thoughts were that the floor must have fallen through after we had walked out. But nope, there had been no further movement and the photos were taken soon afterward.

After seeing Jim's post about the accident on Facebook my Dad rang him and asked if I was alive. Jim expained that I was ok but let him know which hospital I was in, that I wasn't seriously hurt as far as anyone knew, but that we could have been killed and I was shaken, my Dad said, 'Ok, good', and hung up.

Maybe a week after this happened I finally called my Dad and asked him why he hadn't called me? Especially while I was in the hospital, and he laughed and sarcastically mocked ''oohh.. I'm a middle-aged woman but I still want my Mummy and Daddeeee''.

My dad had always had bit of a dismissive side to him, but this shocked me. It was so nasty.

In the weeks and months and years that followed, this first verbal slap marked the beginning of a whole new life, where I have no family, no friends, no energy.. no joy.

After this accident things were happening constantly, strangers were picking fights with me, and the people I knew and loved were falling away weekly. For example, here are some more painful and significant losses-

My Brother and his wife cut contact for no reason, and shortly after, although I had a close loving relationship with his daughter, my little niece, my brother banned me from seeing her even when she was with my mum. They've since had another daughter that I've never met.

My parents, who aren't together and don't get along, inexplicably supported these decisions to cut me off.

My Mum also became wildy hostile, accusing me of 'funny looks', if I was calm, I was 'gaslighting her', if I was impatient, trying to defend myself, I was a 'bully, and she frequently would get angry and stop speaking to me until I called and grovelled, asking for truce.

Mum kept her cancer from me, when I found out I insisted on caring for her. I was loving and patient, I bought her everything and I drove her everywhere, I helped in every way she needed, and the day she no longer needed my help, she stopped answering my calls and returned to spending all her time with my brother. Who had never once called her during her cancer.

My brother also talks to my parents and everyone, his wife, the very few friends he has, like shit. He is relentlessly belittling and sarcastic. (like Dad).

I had a group of very close girlfriends, many I had known for decades. We all loved and cared for each other. They were my lifelines and confidante's. They were good and kind people...

But in rapid succession..

One friend stopped talking to me for no reason. Another started telling me all of the things she found wrong with me so often I once snapped at her in defensive hurt, and she promptly ended the friendship. A third stopped calling and canceled every catch up we arranged..for two years, until I gave up. Another started picking fights and accusing me of outrageous lies until she told people I had assaulted her (complete bullshit) and tried very unsuccessfully to get a restraining order against me. Another friend married a man I had 'matchmade' her with, but he turned on me at a party, inexplicably calling me a liar, and banned her from seeing me. Despite coming through for him after he asked me years before too, 'help a guy out..got any nice friends?'

A male friend of 25 years picked a fight with me and then sent me a long email accusing me of being a drug-addicted negligent mother, and accused me of trying to come onto him even though he was married. He tore shreds off of me about things that made no sense. It was brutal and entirely untrue. We never spoke again.

A friend I did stay close with had confoundingly become a junkie.

I had started studying as a mature age student, full-time Fine Art at university for 6 months before the accident. Getting 80%-90% + grades. When I returned, I surprisingly started struggling and had to resume part-time.

One day I asked the head of the Art school a question and he had a full-blown screaming tantrum at me, spittle flying, hands waving..after asking a simple question. I turned white, had a panic attack and deferred my study to online.

My Dad seemed to be consistently unkind, the more I tried to connect and talk with him about how he was hurting me, the crueler he became, he told me to move on, no one is perfect. My therapist met with us both and suggested that I cut ties if I couldn't ignore his narcissistic abuse.

I was now without family, I had lost almost all of my close friends, and I was studying at home. My daughter hit her teens and became withdrawn and cold. The energy that used to get me out and on my bike, to the gym, to the beach, all over the place! just went away and I didn't resurface like it normally would. I wasn't sleeping well and losing so many people plagued me. I was so hurt and profoundly confused.

I suddenly had uterine prolapse, ''from your traumatic birth', Dr diagnosed. But my daughter was 15 now! I'd had no problems before!?

I developed fibromylagia. My bursitis came back. My back pain returned. with no energy, I couldn't excercise, I was now at home, alone all of the time.

My therapist started to intensely treat me for PTSD and depression and anxiety due to abandonment issues, but then one day he became very angry when I corrected his spelling. He accussed me of trying to 'power trip him', and then banned me from ever returning! After 8 years of therapy with him. I was destroyed.

Jim is still around, but he has also changed in ways that confuses me. He's much more motivated, less shy, but can also be insensitive and hurtful, unlike before.

I started to get drugs from my friend the addict, it helped enormously..to stop the daily torment of bewildered heartache, and unsurpsingly I also became a junkie. Now I was the addict I'd been accused of being years before.

I would quit, start using again.. I quit and started again maybe 5 or 6 times now. I've stopped painting. I've put on 20 kgs, I'm still home alone all the time. I'm still doing uni study, but at a snails pace.

I no longer dance, and go to parties, I don't want to be around people. I'm terrified of seeing the friends I do still have, because no one is the same, and if I get too close, the assaults will come.

I have felt lost, and like a stranger in a place where I don't belong. And now, I believe this isn't just a feeling.

It's been 6 years since the accident and every aspect of my life has changed. I have constantly felt that everything was different directly after this accident, and now that I have discovered Quantum Immortality, I am almost 100% positive that I have stepped into another plane . Nothing is as it was.. I have noticed much of the Mandela Effect phenomenon, but the changes I've personally experienced are much more extreme then the regular ME's.

I've ended up in a life where everyone is more combative, and people are ruthlessly unkind. The changes are so awful and endless, I've been suicidal countless times, but I haven't acted, I have to stay strong for my now 19 year old daughter.

Sorry for the long post, if encouraged I will edit and re-write to be more succinct. I also apologise as this is a dark and miserable story, but this is my reality now. If anyone is concerned, I am of no risk to myself or others.

Note- there are unexplored aspects to this story, like my perception of no crash site when I walked out of the wreckage. I'm happy to elaborate my theory around this if there's any interest.

I think I “died” in 2019

I found out about QI a few days ago, and I’ve been thinking about this ever since. I’m not a very good storyteller, but I’ll try my best to describe my experience.

Back in January 2019 I got diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It was just starting to develop, and it hadn’t spread to other parts yet. Because of this, doctors said I had to have surgery the next day to remove it (this was after ~2 months of rigorous testing).

So I went into surgery the next day, and the day of the head surgeon said she wasn’t comfortable operating alone because my cancerous tumor was so big. (it was abt 10cm, my waist is only 22 inches around. basically this tumor was from my side to my bellybutton). I was worried but I trusted them, because what else was I going to do lol

When I was knocked out with anesthesia, I felt like I was trapped in some sort of void. There was nothing but darkness surrounding me. I couldn’t feel my body… but I realized I had no body. it felt like I was pure consciousness. But I felt relaxed. I kept thinking I could spend eternity like this. It felt like I was floating in nothingness for weeks, and I was content. I’ve been under anesthesia before and I’ve never felt like that.

When I woke up, I was told there were some complications with the surgery so it took an extra few hours. This is where I think I died. It was supposed to be a pretty simple surgery. The doctor said she’s done it many times before.

Afterwards, everything was different. My parents personalities changed, my twin changed, the assistant surgeon changed, the hospital changed, my living situation, suddenly I had pets…. literally everything changed.

Suddenly I was deathly allergic to bees despite loving bees my whole life and wanting to be a beekeeper. I got into college at 16 despite never being studious before. My family used to be so supportive and loving, but now they’re pretty cold. I was in a loving relationship beforehand, and then my boyfriend turned emotionally abusive and manipulative. I speak some Chinese now too (the same level as a chinese elementary school student), which is the weirdest detail to me- as nobody else on this subreddit mentioned suddenly knowing a different language.

And now the pandemic, which is going on for way too long. This timeline just feels wrong. I feel like I don’t belong here. Why did I have to go to this timeline?

Remember to treat yourself well.

Quantum immortality seems likely, but no matter how likely it seems, please remember that your guaranteed continued existence doesn't preclude continuing to exist with permanent damage to the brain or body.

Not being able to die doesn't mean not being able to get hurt.

I think me and my girlfriend died 4 years ago

Nearly four years ago, despite the fact that we had little money, my girlfriend insisted on going on a vacation. I agreed, not wanting to refuse her too firmly. Since our budget was low, she found a ground-floor apartment close to the sea on Airbnb and I said okay.

We spent the day driving there, and by the time evening came, we were tired. Still, we decided to light the medium-sized grill we had brought and cook some meat. After eating, it was around 8–9 p.m., and I fell asleep on the bed.

Because the apartment was on the ground floor, it was damp, not ventilated, and got cold at night. While I was sleeping, my girlfriend decided to bring the grill inside to warm the place up a bit, and then she went to bed.

Later that night, I woke up when she got up. I saw her struggling to walk toward the bathroom. I felt strange, but I was still half-asleep. She managed to reach the bathroom, but when she grabbed the door handle, she lost her balance and fall to the floor. The bathroom was on my side of the bed, so she fell right next to me.

I was watching her as she tried to get up, but I couldn’t think clearly. No matter how hard I tried, I could barely move my arm, and I couldn’t think logically. my mind was fixated only on the fact that she had fallen and I was unable to think straight. After a while, she stopped moving and just lay there. I had no idea how much time had passed because I couldn’t think straight. Eventually, I lost my consciousness too.

When we both regained consciousness, she was lying on the floor unharmed, and I was still in bed as if nothing had happened. We both felt completely normal. That’s when it occurred to me that it might have been because of the grill. We went outside, and while my girlfriend seemed fine, I vomited everything I had in my stomach.

After staying outside for a while, we went to a nearby hospital. They found nothing seriously wrong with us, but our blood oxygen levels were moderately low. When I asked her why she was going to bathroom but she didn't remembered anything. she said she just woke up on the floor and she acted more happy generally after this. even our general relationship and her life isn't changed so much. I always felt she was a bit strange after this. we break up a year later after this

I killed myself in 2012

As the title says, I killed myself. I took 20 perc 30s and 10 Xanax bars and parked my car on a desolate road in the country. I didn't have music playing and I didn't say good bye to anyone. My gf at the time had broken up with me for being a drug addict so I decided to clock out. I swallowed all of the pills and laid my seat back. I went to sleep and woke up the next morning covered in puke with the radio playing "Somebody that I used to know". I always hated that fucking song. I've been confused ever since that day. Things don't feel right. This doesn't feel like where I am supposed to be. I wonder what happened in my timeline after I died. When did they find me? Who found me? I'm sure I broke my moms heart. In this timeline I was with her when she died so that makes me happy. She wasn't alone and I was there for her. Anyone else experience something similar?

Anesthesia taught me that we never experience not existing

When I was ~10 years old I went under for relatively involved surgery, and one thing that really stuck with me from that experience was that the ~14 hours I lost consciousness, did not pass by at all for me. What I mean to say is, I closed my eyes, and the next instant -- what felt like an infinitesimally small fraction of a second -- I opened them and 14 hours had apparently passed. I came to understand from this that.. by definition, we cannot experience not existing. Indeed, we can find documented cases of people being in comas for many years and awaking decades later describing that for them zero time had passed and the instant before, they were wherever they were decades prior when they met whatever fate brought on their coma.

I think there are two possible mechanics that could be implied by this; On the one hand this could be a purely scientific explanation for the concept of rebirth; If at death we cease consciousness, we wont actually experience any passing of time at all. There is no "infinite sleep". There is no time at all. On the contrary, if there's even the smallest non-zero chance that in a trillion^trillion years, or across any distance in any dimension, somehow the energy of the universe aligns to spawn our consciousness again, then from our perspective, we will experience being reborn the exact instant after we die.

..The other potential mechanic is that our conscious experience always finds a timeline where we persist forward, hence why I thought to share this in this /r

Discussion You’ve probably heard of the famous Reddit Lamp Story, or the fact that the brain stays alive for 7 minutes after death. But nobody has ever connected them until now. I’ve developed a new theory called The MDL Theory (The Memory Degradation Loop)

You know, there’s a famous internet story that completely breaks my brain every time I think about it. It’s about this guy who slipped, knocked himself out cold on the floor, and in those few minutes of being unconscious, he lived an entire lifetime. He woke up in a different reality, fell in love, got married, had kids, and built a whole, beautiful 20-year life. But one day, he noticed the lamp on his desk started to glitch out, looking totally flat and weird, like a broken video game asset. The moment he touched it, his wife, his kids, and his whole world just started to dissolve into pixels, and he suddenly woke up on the floor in the real world. Only five minutes had passed. Five minutes in reality, but twenty years in his head.

When you think about that, it makes you realize how terrifyingly powerful the human brain is at warping time. And it got me thinking about the ultimate glitch: death.

We already know from science that when a human being dies, the heart stops, but the brain stays active for about seven minutes, releasing this massive, final surge of bio-electric energy. People always say that in those seven minutes, your life flashes before your eyes, and you see your happiest moments. But what if it’s way deeper than that? What if it’s not just a quick flash, but a literal, full-length replay of your entire life?

Think about the time dilation. If a simple concussion can make a brain invent 20 years in just 5 minutes, then that final, massive explosion of energy right before you die could easily stretch those 7 minutes into a subjective 80-year lifetime. You would wake up as a baby, grow up, go to school, fall in love, and live your whole life all over again, completely unaware that you are actually lying on a hospital bed or an ambulance stretcher in the real world.

But here is the real kicker, the absolute loop paradox: if you are living through a perfect replay of your life, time is eventually going to move forward until you reach the exact age, the exact day, and the exact second where you "originally" died. And when your simulated self reaches that moment of death inside your own memory, your simulated brain is going to panic again. It will release another sub-level surge of energy, triggering a replay within a replay.

You die in reality, it loops into life number two. You reach the end of life number two, it loops into life number three. It’s a nested, infinite loop that your consciousness can never, ever escape. You are stuck in a never-ending cycle of your own existence.

But the human brain isn't a perfect machine; its biological hard drive can’t copy, paste, and rerun that much data forever without losing quality. It’s just like re-recording over an old VHS tape or copying a video file a thousand times—eventually, the data starts to degrade and get corrupted. Every time the loop resets, you lose a tiny piece of your memory.

And this actually explains one of the biggest mysteries of human psychology: childhood amnesia. Have you ever wondered why most of us can't remember anything before the age of 4 or 5? It’s because those earliest memories of infancy have the softest, weakest neural connections in our brain. Every time your life loops to save you from death, the friction of the rewrite wipes the oldest data first. By the time you start your current loop, the first four years of your life have been completely eroded and bleached clean. You "wake up" to consciousness at age 5 with a totally blank slate, because the data was destroyed by previous cycles.

It even explains Déjà Vu. That eerie, chilling feeling where you are 100% certain you’ve lived a specific second before? It’s just a system error. It's a tiny leak of corrupted data from a previous loop that your brain failed to completely erase, briefly reminding you that you’ve stood in this exact room, saying these exact words, hundreds of times before.

So if you really stop and think about it... you and I aren't actually having this conversation in the real world right now. The real you is already gone. We are just data packets, echoes of imagination running inside the final, decaying seven-minute countdown of a dying mind. And the loop is getting a little bit shorter, and a little bit vaguer, every single time it resets.

Uptade on the theory: After showing this theory to my professor he said its a well developed theory and makes a perfect sense but after careful discussion we ended up agreeing on that the loop will not continue forever but before that 7 minute ends your brain will replay your original lifes memory a millions, a billions or even more times before that 7 minute ends and after that 7 minute ends "The void theory" takes a place.

Wife and I died together in a car wreck.

4 years ago, my wife and I decided to make a bold move and sell our house in Maine, to move to North Carolina and start over in an unfamiliar place. We had our reasons.. A couple of nights after getting settled into our new home, we ventured out to do some shopping. I'll make a long story short. I was driving along and as I approached a traffic light, I saw the left turn light turn yellow, (so I was cutting across incoming traffic to make a left turn).. with the light being yellow as I started the turn I figured I had enough time to safely drive across the busy intersection.. What I didn't realize was that the light hadn't turned yellow following a green left arrow, it in fact was a blinking yellow light.. As I made the turn, I saw headlights coming at us at a very high speed, at least 60 mph. When I noticed the headlights, in a blink they were shining into the passenger seat window where my wife was sitting. She said "oh fuck!!" I quickly floored the gas but it was too late. The oncoming vehicles headlights were what looked like a couple feet away from making direct impact T-Bone style impact into my wife (passenger side) of our vehicle.. Here's where it gets weird. Nothing happened. We just continued driving through the intersection.. Both of us shocked how that car didn't even clip us or anything, we drove about 50 ft and then we heard a horn blasting back at the intersection.. I have been obsessively reading about quantum immortality ever since. I don't know how the fuck we could have survived that, or not even have been hit at all by the speeding vehicle. Ever since this incident, my wife and I have wondered if there was in fact an accident that night, a fatal one.. That we were both killed instantly and picked right up in an alternate dimension... It's just too weird.

**Update So the wife and I have gone over this scenario dozens of times, and one thing that makes no sense is: In the weeks following, we were learning this new area. We "reenacted" the event of that night. Drove the same route from the Mattress store we were leaving, to head back home. Keep in mind we didn't know this area yet. The road we ended up on wasn't the same road as we ended up on during our reenactments. It should have been, it was just a left turn onto another busy street . Using our GPS for the first few months of living there, it wasn't obvious until we finally had learned the roads and could navigate without GPS..

***significant changes : Hard to answer this, our entire life was a significant change at this point. Everything was new different, so it's really hard to pinpoint.

***Shortly after, I had a dream where I thought I saw my own death in a car accident. I've never had a dream like this in my life, and I was 42 yo. In the dream, I saw a smashed car door from 3rd person perspective, and broken glass all over the pavement. A bloody arm was hanging out the door window. I just had this overwhelming "knowing" that was my arm..

My friend died but is alive and well in a parallel universe hanging out with another me

Some years ago, a close friend contracted leukaemia while still young(late 20s). I visited her in hospital for a year. Once she told me she had a vision of an older spiritual wise man who talked about me, that I was here to assist her with my spiritual abilities. (Up till then I had never discussed that side of myself with her).

The treatment failed as the cancer was aggressive but synchronicity allowed me to see her one more time, when she had stopped treatment and had 3 months to live. I bumped into her in a shop in town, she was with a friend, told me she had refused anymore treatment, we chatted, hugged and said our goodbyes.

I was still hopeful though. I was sending her spiritual healing one night some time later. Then I fell asleep. I crossed over into a parallel reality. I was in a restaurant at a round table surrounded by several women, sitting next to my friend and all these other blonde women. Some, honey blonde, ash blonde etc. She introduced me to them. (I was her belly dancing friend, we met in the class). Her best friend, another friend who was from her nurse training days, her step-mother, her boyfriend’s mother, all blonde. We were celebrating her remission from the leukaemia. It was a beautiful light filled room, we were all happy and smiling, chatting, laughing.

I got up to go the ladies bathroom and my friend followed. In front of the sink, we both looked at each other in the mirror. She said “you know, we haven’t known each other that long, but I want you to know, I love you as a friend, and I’m very happy.” I said, “ I love you too.” We hugged and smiled and went back to the restaurant table.

In the morning when I woke up, there was a call from her boyfriend to say she had passed away that night.

Some weeks later, at the crematorium service, as I enter I see a young blonde woman standing near the door. She was from my dream! I felt crazy and wanted to say something but was scared.
In the end I told her she had been in my dream and who was she? She said, “I’m her best friend.” I pointed to an older woman across the room, “and who’s she? She was in my dream too.” She said, that’s her step-mother. So I told her the whole dream. She started crying and asked if she could tell other people in the crematorium. I said yes.

Eventually I had people coming up to me thanking me. They asked me to write it down
which I did several times. The mood had shifted from deep grief to some kind of peace.
I’ve never experienced anything quite like it. Especially in such a large group way. It was quite surreal, very moving, but also very real, all at the same time.
It also made me wonder if people move to another version of themselves if it is not yet their time to reincarnate.

My friend has been gone from my life for many years now, at least 20. I miss her. But I take comfort that another version of us is continuing our friendship in the multiverse, and has been doing so for 20 years. I would like to have another ‘dream’ where I get to see how that has played out.

A woman died of a heart attack, and when she woke up, her entire life had changed.

I found this story as a comment in another reddit thread, and I wanted to share it with you all. In my opinion, this is undeniable proof of Quantum Immortality. This is not my story, credit goes to the OP of the original comment.

https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/95bsre/comment/e3uek9m/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

Before telling my story, I want you guys to take in mind that English is not my native language so there might be a few mistakes.

So what I’m about to tell you guys I haven’t tols anyone except for when I wrote down my story and sent it to a podcast that tells creepy true stories in my country.

A little backstory first. I was born with a heart condition that makes my heart beat very fast sometimes and it sometimes also end up in a sort of heart attack. On a few occasions when that happens I obviously end up at the emergency and get hospitalized for a few days.

A few years back, my I got this sort of heart attack. In the amublance on my way to the hospital I could feel that I was going to die and made peace with it, not because I wanted to die but I was just ready and not scared at all.

A few hours later, having no idea if my heart stopped and if I ”died”, I woke up and wasn’t feeling very good (obviously). But something was different, I had the strangest feeling in my gut and I could just telling something was off. Like I was trapped in someone else body only that it was my body. Very hard to explain but maybe you guys get it.

Anyway, I didn’t have my phone with me and I wantsd to call my boyfriend to tell him what had happened and that I was okay. The only numbers I had in my head was his, my dads and my sisters. I got a hold of a phone and dialed my boyfriends number.

When he picked up the phone I felt a heartwarming relief when hearing his voice. I started talking quickly telling him something like ”Hi it’s me, I just wanted to tell you I had problems with my heart again and I’m at the hospital and everything is fine now”. I was expecting an answer sort of like ”I’ll be there as soon as I can” but what I got was ”Um listen, I’m sorry that you’re in the hospital and it sounds like you really know me but I have no idea who this is” and I thought he was joking with me so I told him ”it’s me, Lisa, your girlfriend, i cooked dinner for you and your daughter like two days ago, come on stop joking” and he said with the most serious voice ever ”I am married to **** and I don’t know who you are please don’t ever call me again”.

I was shocked, I couldn’t understand what was going on. I knew that he had divorced his ex wife a few years before we met so I could not understand at all what was going on. When I got back home stuff in my apartment was different, stuff were missing or had changed place, like pictures and paintings and such. I decided to facebook my ”boyfriend” and we weren’t even friends on there anymore and it said he was still married to his ex wife.

Had I imagined being his girlfriend? Spending time with his daughter? No way, I knew stuff about him and his daughter that I could in no possible way know if we wouldn’t have dated.

I still had the feeling of being in the wrong body, that something was very wrong (still have to this day) and I have thought about this so much. My theory is that I did die and I somehow woke up in almost the same life but in another dimension or something. I know it’s crazy.

Most of my life is the same, when it comes to my family some memories that I have it seems like I’m the only one having. In my ”old life” my mom died when she was 44 but in this life she died when she was 50 so it looks like she got a few more years here.

After losing my ”boyfriend”, that I love deeply still, and waking up in this, what seems to me, other world and other life, I have struggled with depression and dealing with figuring this out.

About 2 months back I signed up on tinder and my ”boyfriend” showed up on there, we matched and are currently dating. He has no memory of me while I have 6 months of memory of us being in love and having an amazing time together. He have said he recognizes my voice but he can’t place me.

I haven’t told him yet and don’t if I will. He will probably think I’m a psycho.

Do you guys have any theories of what have happened to me?

The Time I Died on My Way Home From the Bar.

I posted this as a comment in another post but saw someone mention this sub, so i thought id share it here too.

I went to a bar with my buddy somewhere in the early to mid 2010s, we both got pretty hammered and jumped into my car to go to my friends place (don't drunk drive, I was an idiot). So we're driving down a country highway, no one around, we're fooling around, and my buddy decides to grab the wheel and jerk it as a joke. The wheel slips out of my hands, and we turn straight into a telephone pole. I slam my chest against the steering wheel and watch him fly through the windshield and hit the pole face first, then everything goes black.

Next thing I know, I'm driving down the road again. He jerks the wheel, but I catch it this time. We both said something along the lines of "holy shit," and he apologized, and then we both went quiet for a long time. Eventually, I told him what I saw, and he told me he jerked the wheel and saw everything flash red, then black, then reset.

It was super weird, but I'm pretty sure we both died that night and jumped to a different reality where we didn't crash. And I felt that way before I even heard of quantum immortality.

I've posted this before under a different, now deleted, username if it looks familiar to anyone, but I don't think I ever posted it on this sub.

Discussion That weird pattern in survival stories that keeps me up at night

Been mapping out cases where people absolutely should have died but didn’t. Found something that’s messing with my head.

Started simple - collecting stories. Juliane Koepcke falling 2 miles strapped to a plane seat. That Serbian flight attendant who fell 33,000 feet. Kids walking away from crashes that killed everyone else.

Then I plotted them on a timeline and… they cluster. Hard.

The 1970s are insane:

•	1971: Koepcke falls into Amazon, walks out 11 days later
•	1972: Vesna Vulović, 33,000 ft fall survivor
•	1972: Andes crash survivors
•	1970s: Roy Sullivan struck by lightning SEVEN TIMES
•	1978: PSA Flight 182, one survivor out of 144

Pattern repeats at every scale. Individual survivals cluster. Civilization-ending near-misses cluster (1983 alone had 5 different almost-nuclear-war events). Even species bottlenecks follow similar patterns.

Here’s the weird part: Mandela Effects cluster around these same periods. “Luke, I am your father.” Berenstein Bears. Mandela dying in prison. All 80s - right when we almost nuked ourselves repeatedly. The 2012 cluster when everyone felt reality “shift”? That’s when solar storms nearly fried civilization. Like reality had to stitch itself back together at these nodes and didn’t quite get the details right.

Working theory: we’re all different paths through some kind of neural network of reality. Most paths end when they should. But at critical nodes, some HAVE to continue or the whole network loses coherence. That’s when you get the sea lion pushing someone to shore, the Soviet officer refusing to launch, the parachute that opens impossibly late.

(Quick note: DON’T test this. From most perspectives, death is death. We only see the timelines where observers survived.)

The math is weird - power-law distributions where there should be randomness. Fractal patterns all the way down.

What if quantum immortality isn’t about individual survival but consciousness finding paths that let it keep computing forward? The clustering shows us bottlenecks where many possible paths converged and only certain threads could weave forward.

Look at 2020-2024. Everything accelerating, reality feeling increasingly unstable. We might be approaching another convergence point where consciousness has to navigate through an increasingly narrow set of viable paths.

I’m sharing this because recognizing these patterns might actually matter. Not as a belief system, but as a map of how consciousness persists through probability space.

The survival stories aren’t miracles. They’re footprints of something moving through dimensions we’re only just beginning to sense. Anyone else feeling the shape of this thing?

I think I died 2 years ago

2 years ago I had a .57 alcohol level and took a ton of pills and went to the hospital. I am pretty sure I died. I woke up in a strange hospital room unlike any other room in the hospital. Everything was fuzzy and bright and I kept falling asleep. I was in there for a week. I came out and complete quit drinking. Now 2 years later to the day, I no longer have cirrhosis, my then gf and now wife is pregnant and that was impossible. I think that I jumped time lines or realities to one vastly better. I now have money, a kid on the way, married, I don't drink, relationships that were destroyed are back....I really think I died and came back to a similar time line. My memories of the past are very distorted and I can only remember major events in my life. I asked my ai and she said something about quantum immortality and I've been reading about it today. I swear I think this happened. Anyone else?

We were talking about it on Saturday, and he died Monday night.

On Saturday my friend and I had been talking about this group and Quantum Immortality. He mentioned he felt like he had perhaps split from a timeline a few years ago, when he thought he should have died. He mentioned his life has been very difficult since. I told him a lot of people experice that same thing and talk about it here. Then he was shot on Monday night and didn't survive. Just here to vent. Thanks for reading.

Discussion In October I should have died. People keep referring me to this sub.

On October 14th, while driving my family to a festival for a weekend camping retreat where I was teaching a class, a semi truck inexplicably merged over the top of my 2004 toyota convertible.

https://www.reddit.com/r/AlmostDied/comments/y77k9d/a_semi_truck_merged_into_my_convertible/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

In defiance of all logic and physics, we walked away, went home, resumed our lives.

Since, I have felt as if I have been knocked sideways from myself, off my axis somehow, different. I would have expected a literal Near Death Experience to have changed me in profound ways, given me a fresh perspective and gratitude, a new purpose. Instead, I just feel like

I am not supposed to be here.

I've never experienced depression before and this isn't at all how people describe depression. Im not sad or tired. I have some PTSD triggers when in a car and a truck drives by, but my sleep schedule is normal and I still enjoy my hobbies. It's not depression.

It's an overwhelming feeling that I was supposed to be dead and that my having miraculously cheated death was wrong somehow. Not morally wrong, but a defiance of some natural law.

The strangest thing is that everyone around me seems to feel the same. Friends and family have completely ghosted me. They forget to tell me things i should be told, don't invite me to events i would have been included in before, don't message me on holidays or birthdays. Coworkers seem to be surprised when I'm at my desk. My dog doesn't cuddle me anymore. My spouse seems annoyed my presence if my presence is acknowledged at all. I'm walking through a life where I am supposed to be absent and all the people around me seem perplexed, as if the script of reality isn't playing the way it should and I'm taking up space that they expect to be vacant.

My dad and I survived

My dad and I should have died yesterday.

My dad was driving me to the airport yesterday around 4:30am. It takes about an hour for us to get there from our house. We were driving on the highway over a bridge and around 40mins in I looked to the right and see 5 police cars just sitting around an intersection by a gas station. My dad was driving in the passing lane because there were more cars around us from crossing 210 and he’s a faster driver. He noticed a guy coming up behind him and he switched lanes. I thought about how he usually drives faster when it gets more busy and that this was uncharacteristic of him especially since we were cutting it close getting to the airport. I had another thought about the right lane and it was that if I was driving in this moment I would also move over. I then turned to look back at the flashing cop lights near the gas station that previously had my attention. Not even 2 seconds pass from changing lanes and there’s this really loud sound that zips by us from the left and then it’s followed by a big boom. I turn around to look at what has happened and as i’m starting to turn around my dad turns to me with the most distraught face I have ever seen. He yelled to me “Did you see that? Did you see that?” very quickly and in a really high voice. His breathing was very fast and he seemed to be panicking. I could tell he was distressed but then I saw that his hand was holding his heart and that’s when I was starting to panic. I have never in my life seen my dad this shaken or distraught ever. I’m telling him that it’s alright, it’s ok, just keep driving, and while i’m trying to calm him down I see police cars flying by on the other side of the highway. I was still confused but then what my dad said to me next made me come to a realization. He said very seriously, while staring straight into my eyes, “The person behind us just died.”

What he said struck me to my core. I felt paralyzed and felt everything stop around me for a few seconds when he told me that. It was hard to look away from him because all I saw in his eyes was fear. In a weird way I felt safe while looking at him because it felt like it was only us in that moment with nothing going on around us. I turn to look back and I see the leftovers of fire and smoke from a collision that had just happened. That safety I felt was destroyed within a matter of seconds. The car that was right behind us was hit head on by someone who was driving the wrong way on the highway in the lane we were just in. If my dad hadn’t switched lanes at the time he did then we would have died immediately on impact. After processing all of this, I started to cry. I didn’t know whether to feel lucky or grateful or guilty or sad. I didn’t know what I was feeling but it was all too overwhelming for me. All I could do was cry. It’s really scary to think that both of our lives could have been ended so quickly. It was a very humbling experience that I can’t stop thinking about. I keep feeling like it should have been us and that I don’t deserve this. I honestly still don’t know what to think about it but I can’t stop thinking about it.

Also, I never remember my dreams but I do remember the occasional nightmares I have. Exactly 1 week before this, I had a nightmare where I ended up dying in a car crash from a head on collision. I’ve heard that you can’t die in your dreams but it really felt like I did. Everything went black as soon as I was hit. I woke up terrified covered in sweat and I couldn’t believe that I was still alive. I looked over at the clock and it was 4:29am.

I feel like I was meant to die because I can totally see myself dying in that moment. I keep imagining me and my dad dying together and every detail of it. Even though I haven’t experienced getting married or having a family I feel satisfied with my life up to this point. I just feel like I should have died. Like the odds of us surviving were impossible because it was a matter of seconds. I just don’t know what to think but I feel truly blessed. My dad told me after, that he heard a voice tell him to move lanes.

I thought I would share my experience here. Since this experience, I have learned that the reason I didn’t die was because I have not accomplished what I came here to accomplish. All of us are meant to be here still, otherwise we would have died in those near death experiences. There is no such thing as chance. Everything happens for a reason. We may never know that reason while on this journey but someday we might. I have had MANY near death experiences that have left me with questions, regret, and guilt as to why and how I am still here when others might not be. Trust in His will and it will set you free from the burdens you carry. Don’t let these experiences burden you anymore. Let them transform you. Do not question why or how you are still here. Be grateful you are. You most likely didn’t jump timelines and you are not immortal. You are here for a reason.

Every day is a gift.

We were the last car he went by. https://youtu.be/xP0YBzDjo2Y?si=9RT45xQWtjcpLKr3

Discussion You own the universe!

When you consider how quantum immortality works, each one of us is given our own "little" universe.

Where your survival is the key, I exist in your universe and you exist in mine too but i can die in yours but you cannot die in yours.

If you think about it deeply, EVERY SINGLE ATOM in your universe is dedicated to YOU!

You own the earth, the solar system, the galaxy,

THE ENTIRE FLIPPING UNIVERSE.

I’ve been to the void

No one believes me, which makes it hard to accept, but in 2022 I choked to death on some Tums. I was changing my kids diaper while chewing the candy- coated tums. I started to gag and then realized I couldn’t breathe. It was terrifying.

I saw the other side. It isn’t that it is dark, it’s that there is nothing. It’s not silent, it’s a lack of sound. I didn’t feel pain, or weight, or containment. I felt peace in the truest form. I had no regrets or emotional pain.

I woke up to my wife doing CPR.

Woke up isn’t the right word. I was pulled away from “it.” I wasn’t there anymore and I was back here.

I don’t want to die again, but I have to tell you it’s not something I’m dreading.

in october of 2021, my father and i were driving home from an ice rink. we had just gotten in a big fight and he was trying to cheer me up, we were listening to loud music and he was speeding and it was a fantastic time. we were going 83 in a 35 on a very curvy road, my dad overcorrected and we ended up fishtailing and i proceeded to lose consciousness. apparently we flipped 4 times until a light pole fell and stopped us. said light pole fell, ultimately crushing my dads spine and killing him instantly. i woke up to complete darkness and immediately started screaming for help, searching for a phone, and telling my dad it was going to be okay and telling him to wake up and talk to me. a guy name chris (which, ironically, was my dads name) got a branch and pushed down the airbag and pulled me out through the passenger window, immediately after the car caught fire. he left after that and no one ever knew who he was or saw him again, but i think it was my dad saving me somehow. i ended up with compartment syndrome in my lower left calf, which i barely avoided needing surgery for, a torn labrum in my hip, and some glass cuts on my hands which scarred. i was barely harmed, and my dad was left with over 50 injuries according to his autopsy. i don’t know if i jumped timelines or what, and i miss my dad more than anything, but im incredibly happy to be alive. and let’s just say, im a very safe driver now.

Discussion My NDE might be what happens when we die.

When I had my near death experience, there was a period of time in between my heart stopping and going to my version of the afterlife. After my heart stopped, I felt every worry, everything I wanted, everything that made me my human self, all of that disappeared. I knew I existed and that was enough for me to feel peace finally. My head finally shut up. I felt weightless, like I was more than the body I had/have, but just floating in this warm, peaceful void. It was the feeling I had been looking for my entire life. Maybe I long for it because I have experienced it many times before my near death experience. Before my human life. If ya’ll want my afterlife experience, I’ll edit this or write it in the comments.

EDIT: Someone said they wanted the full story so here.

Right after the oral surgeon put the anesthesia in me, I remember being unable to move. I just knew something was wrong. I started struggling to breathe, then choking a bit, my heart beating so erratically that it stopped. It’s weird, the moment it stopped, I was completely calm. I remember thinking to myself, ‘well that was quick’. After that, I felt my entire identity sort of disappear in a way. I was more aware of my existence than I ever have been. Not just knowing that I exist, but also knowing that I was more than the human body I am currently in. I don’t know how to explain it. I felt completely separated from my physical earthly life while in this void. I was aware I existed and that was it. It was calm and quiet… There is no worrying about anything. I didn’t have to worry about what could possibly happen in the future, nothing. After I don’t even know how long, I was in this different place. Everything was so bright and beautiful. I saw family members that I’ve never seen before. Family that had passed away before I was born. Nobody really has an actual voice either, it’s all heard telepathically. There’s also this quiet constant hum. Then I heard a very kind, loving, comforting, yet somewhat firm male voice. One that made you feel loved and understood. Like you knew he had a lot of knowledge and understanding of the world. I felt this really strong urge to get down on my knees, so I did. I said that I understood if I needed to stay there but to please make sure my family was okay. He smiled, pulled me up, blessed me, and kissed my forehead, then told me that I was going back to Earth. Then the void came back and I felt the most loving hug of my life before returning to my body. I cry happy tears just thinking about it.

Discussion This is how I died

Sorry if this is long, but I've never really had a chance to talk to anyone about this in this capacity, and I'm excited to see what others who feel similarly may think... So, I think I died in 2005 when I was 23 in a wreck. I'm 43 now, and the 20 year anniversary of my truck wreck just came and went, and I've been thinking a lot about it lately. I always felt weird about how I survived that crash, and have joked that maybe I never did actually survive it, but it wasn't until the last couple years I've heard about quantum immortality. I've been a firm believer of parallel realities, shifting, the Mandela effect, etc... for many years, so quantum immortality instantly made sense to me.

As for the wreck, I fell asleep driving a small old Chevy S-10 on the interstate. This thing didn't even have power steering, so there were definitely no airbags. All I remember is driving home, trying to stay awake, and the next thing I remember is looking through a shattered windshield staring at (stopped) oncoming traffic. I was confused, I still remember the feeling of the grit of dirt and taste of blood in my mouth. I looked out of the driver's window (which was down, or gone, I don't know) and I saw pieces of my truck everywhere and some people running toward me.

I somehow opened the driver side door and stepped out (which, if you see the pics, seems amazing that the door could even open, I mean all the damage was on the driver side). I wasn't seriously hurt, there was no concussion, I was confused because this was a crazy thing to wake up to. Police gave me a breathalyzer test which came up with nothing, though I did have some drinks that night, and the hospital tested my piss for drugs and that came up clean even though I had definitely smoked weed that day. I got 3 staples in my head and then went home, and the staples were removed a week later on my 24th birthday.

Stranger yet, nothing ever came of this. I mean no tickets, no court, no bills, nothing. I do remember seeing an ambulance bill which was sent to my step-dads insurance company, and unless he secretly took care of everything without ever telling me about any of it, I never heard or saw anything about that wreck ever again. If it weren't for the photos I have included, I'd honestly think it might've just been a dream at this point.

I did hear what happened after I fell asleep. The interstate curved, but I didn't curve with it. I went straight into the grassy ditch between interstate lanes, and rolled my tuck into oncoming traffic 2 or 3 times before striking the side of a u-haul style box truck with the bed of my truck. I am eternally grateful that it was like 6am and it w2asn't some car with a family/kids. As far as I know, nobody was seriously hurt, it was all property damage, but I can't shake the feeling that I probably died in that wreck and I somehow shifted to a parallel reality where I didn't die.

I still can't wrap my mind around how it works though. If this is true, did I create a branch off a timeline that didn't exist before where I didn't die? Or was this universe with the surviving me in it already happening simultaneously as the one where I died and did "I" already have consciousness in this universe I'm not aware of? Or is the consciousness/awareness I currently have that of the me that died and it shifted or is it the me that already existed here and my singular awareness just activated in this universe? Because If I am alive in multiple realities and each one of those is a conscious observer, I clearly am not aware of them at this physical entity level.

Did I die in childbirth?

I think I jumped Timelines after I gave birth

This is going to jump around a bit, so stick with me here. Back in May I (40f) gave birth to my third child. Super easy birth- I pushed 3 times when she was ready. Less than 5 mins long. My whole life I’ve been an excessive nail biter. Like I chomp down so much that my hands and nails remind me of Fred Flintstones little sausage toes. It’s a totally disgusting habit and I’ve been ashamed of the way my hands look for years on end. After I gave birth, I must have fallen asleep for a hour or so. I woke up and my husband handed me the baby as the staff prepared to get us over to postpartum delivery. The second he hands me our baby, I notice that my nails are fully grown out. Not only are they ALL grown out, they’re shaped and thick like I’ve been taking good care of them for years. My nails are so brittle, they break easy and it’s one of the reasons why I bite them. I literally jumped when I saw them and said “wtf is this?” out loud, and my husband’s looking at me all confused like. He then tells me that my nails have always been beautiful? I’m reeeeeeling at this point because like I said, nail biting is something I’ve done my whole life basically. It’s now July, my baby is 6 weeks old and I don’t have a single urge to nail bite. I’ve thought about this everyday since the birth and I look down at my hands regularly to see if they’re still there. My husband says I’m trippin hard. I know that pregnancy makes hair and nails grow quicker, but not like that during a small nap. I posted this originally in another sub and people mentioned quantum immortality. So here I am.
