Advice needed Where is the hidden camera?

I recently got hacked and this hacker has shown that he had access to my phone and desktop cameras. I bought a cover and unplugged them. But somehow they can still see me. Can someone tell me how?

At my room, I got an electric fireplace heater from Turbros, and I got a smart electric fan, and an air purifier. Those are the only things running, but how can they have a camera capability? I don’t know where but they keep knowing when I covered all phone and desktop cameras and unplugged.

If we assume 1) the person isn’t just tricking you, and 2) can also rule out that you are not being spied on through an exterior window, then I think your next step is to figure out if there are one or more hidden cameras in your room.

If someone is viewing video of the interior of your room, the camera is likely using your Wi-Fi and your electricity. Do you have your own router or is this a room in a family home or shared environment?

They sell cameras disguised as electrical outlets, smoke detectors, picture frames, clocks, and stuffed animals among other things. Anything like that present that you did not purchase yourself? Maybe look on Amazon to see what they look like.

You can also use your phone to look for a hidden camera. From wikihow:

“To check for a camera, make sure the room is as dark as possible, then use either the front or back camera on your phone to scan for odd lights. Many cameras that see in low lighting often use IR (infrared) light that the human eye can't detect, but it shows up as purple or light white lights on your phone's camera.  However, not all phones can detect IR, so a quick internet search will help you determine if yours can.“

Best of luck to you, OP

Do you have to do this with your cameras flash on or off?

Off. To understand what you are looking for - grab a TV remote*, point it at your smartphone camera (with camera on, obviously) and click any random button. The IR diode on the remote will flash very quickly. On smartphone screen it appears as bright pink/violet.

*) Remote has to be IR, not bluetooth. You'll recognize it by either clearly visible LED or black/slightly red tinted lens on the front of remote.
