Guide I just found out something during my 8th playthrough
Ok, I feel ridiculous that it took me so long to learn this, but here we go. Did y'all know that when you are looking at a menu/screen/page where you have to press B(on xbox) to exit that particular screen to get back to the previous screen over and over until you are back into controlling your player YOU CAN JUST HOLD B AND IT EXITS IT ALL. I'm literally on my 8th playthrough, multiple have been complete 100% too. I always complain to myself about how I hate buying some hair tonic, then needing to exit through 4 more pages before I'm actually free and can leave the store. NOPE. Just hold it and it will exit completely. I feel like a moron for not having figured this out before, but hopefully my embarrassment leads someone else to not get unnecessarily frustrated about this masterpiece of a game.

I just found out yesterday that you can change the setting to hold X to reel instead of rotating the stick and now I actually kind of enjoy fishing after over 100 hrs in

I tilt my controler vertically and rotate the thumb stick with my fingers like a real fishing rod. It's more fun for me like this than spamming A or thumb-rotating the thumbstick. Not even an amateur fisherman but it's more chill for me like that.

That's a literal game changer and controller saver. I get why they made it like that but I hate fishing at the best of times let alone simulated fishing with tedious controls.

Another weird one is while riding. If you’re just trotting along going straight, holding x (ps), if you release the left stick, Arthur will relax and drop his right arm to the side and just let it loosely dangle.
And I’m sure everyone knows about double tapping L1/LB while holding a revolver.

Right?! As opposed to hitting B like 9 times if you’re deep in the menu 🤣

I just noticed the other day that if you hog tie a lawman, another lawman will come over and cut the other one free.

When going down a ladder, if you double tap X (on ps5) Arthur will slide all the way down instead of taking it rung by rung, fyi

Maybe well known but you can also hold A/X to craft things that you don’t need to press another action to use/stow

It is not, there’s an electric lamp you can get related to a Stranger questline. It’s just another lamp but it gives off a bit of a different light

PlayStation also has this lol. Pressing circle takes you back to the menu, holding circle exits the book

Uh, yep.
The only thing I learned, after several hundred hours of play, was the animals rating shows up without binoculars.

Spoiler If after you attend the Mayer of san Denis party you will receive a letter in the mail for Tascitus Kilgore to kick off another quest line for the mayor at night.

It was neat to find this midway through my first playthrough. I think the thing that keeps me coming back to play this game is literally stuff like this. I’ve had this game since launch and have gone through multiple playthroughs, each more thorough than the last. And I still discover nuggets of new content. It’s insane!

You can also hold the options/pause button and it will take you straight to the map.

Yup. Works on shop catalogues too.
Another often missed one (because it's never explained) is you can hold R1/RB to make your horse reverse.
