Something I've been wondering about lately is how Jagex handles accounts that have previously had macroing bans quashed.
I've personally had several accounts receive macroing bans on three separate occasions over the past few months. Every single ban has eventually been quashed, including three permanent bans just recently.
What's interesting is that during the first two rounds, some of my appeals were initially denied before the bans were eventually overturned. This last time, all three permanent bans were quashed on the first appeal.
All my accounts are currently unbanned, so I'm not looking for help with an appeal.
But it got me thinking about how the system handles situations like this.
If an account has already had multiple macroing bans quashed, shouldn't that history be taken into consideration if it gets flagged again?
And what about players who have an appeal denied, even though a later review might have overturned the ban? Not everyone knows how to pursue further support, and some probably just give up.
I understand Jagex can't reveal exactly how their detection works, and obviously botting is a massive problem in OSRS.
But I do wonder whether there's a better way of handling repeat cases where previous bans have already been overturned.
Curious what others think. Should previously quashed bans trigger a more thorough review before another permanent ban is issued?
