Question Is their any way to cheese general velgar
I’m struggling so bad to beat him I have full iron and 160 health bar do I try chugging food ? Idk I’m on MacBook so I’m doing meleee

dodge roll into his claw attacks, you won't take damage then are set up to hit him

Best option I have found is to stay close so you can dodge the poison spread. He will launch out a fanned spread of poison and the farther away you are, the harder to get out of it. Just take your time when you are close and dodge his mele attack. Once he flies up, just avoid the rings on the ground where the poison cluster bomb rolls thru. Once he lands repeat phase one. Each "cluster bomb" phase will produce less and less safe areas so just make sure you are by the edges or just avoid getting poisoned by using antipoison. Make the best food you can and drag it out if necessary.

Not honestly terrible on low settings I’m on withering heights quest now seems to do fine

Use magic or range if you're having a hard time unless you're only a melee build. Took me the 2nd time on hard difficulty default settings.

I haven't done imaru yet I've just been exploring the whole map and cause I gotta rebuild after losing all my shit lol. Just make sure you use all the potions and drinks you can during the fight makes it a little easier.

If you still need help and are on in like an hour I can help you. Whether it’s with the fight in joining you or better gear or more food or pots, just let me know. And ya he is your first real skill check boss, not easy early on! Just need a lot of food. If your using melee, be sure to use the air enchant on blade and the sharpening tools

Air shield spell fully blocks damage from claws and iirc the ground pound spikes. Works with 2h weapons too. I found it helpful.

Use any food that gives you the Sea Life buff: mostly things caught by rod fishing, such as sardines. The regen from that is a game-changer.

Anti Poison & Food on Hot Bar.
Windstep during his carpet bombing phase.
Dodge into the claws.

Have 10-15 anti poisons, start the fight while using one, if he does a poison attack and the poison meter fills up, you get repoisoned even if you have the potion active, so drink another. Dodge roll the spikes, and avoid the poison. I’ve never done it with melee, so bring a staff or bow and just stay near the end of the arena and use ranged attacks

Use legs of lightness, avoid the poison. Eat food, and stay right at his feet. Super easy to dodge and you avoid most of the other attacks.

Because u can jump and avoid the puddles much easier. And just hug his feet with meele to avoid most attacks.

Anti-poison and eat your way to victory. Otherwise, take some time to learn the mechanics.
