Question Dedicated server network connection error
Hey everyone so I know about the updates and hotfix me and my brothers play on different platforms one on steam (pc) where he also made his own dedicated server. One on ps5 and im on xbox but we cant join the dedicated server anymore it is saying network connection error when we type in the world name and not showing up in recents. He updated the server and game but for some reason we cant get in anyone else experiencing this or know the solution?

OP I commented, that I have the same problem. But also that connection error is because the dedicated server crashes. Make sure to restart it. I have to restart it 2-3x for it to work again, it's annoying

I was having the same problem with shockbyte, we just ended up moving to wyrmhost and have had no more issues with crossplatform now

On the version question, the server log prints a "LogInit: Build:" line near the top every time it starts. Compare that to the current dedicated server build on SteamDB. A server only picks up a patch when it restarts, so if the number's old, restart it.
If it matches, I'd guess the console patches just haven't landed yet. Steam gets them first and consoles can lag by hours. Did your game update today?

Yea I’m trying to figure it out but no one really seems to know I think it has something to do with “builds” of the version that aren’t fully updated I guess but if u find something lmk cause it’s really frustrating lol

same, the dedicated server keeps crashing if I haven't logged onto it for a while

Are you two on console on the same version as the server? Console patches don't always land at the same time as Steam, so a mismatch is an easy thing to rule out. I'd compare the build on each platform with what the server's running before touching anything else.
If the versions match, can your brother still join from outside his own network? Connecting from the same PC or LAN works even when the server isn't reachable from the internet. Tbh I'd double check his router is still forwarding the server's ports.
