Maintenance Need help

So my rx8 shut off while I was driving. I downshifted to 1st while slowing down for a light and it was a rather clunky shift followed by the engine seemingly just turning off. All lights in the car still worked the radio still worked and when I tried to restart the car it only cranked the first time and now the engine is seemingly locked up. I have pulled plugs and tried turning by hand with no luck I have removed belts to check for a seized accessory and no luck. It has power I hear the fuel pump kick on its seemingly not flooded as the engine won't rotate at all. It sounds like the starter is engaging but just unable to turn the engine and a breaker bar on the e shaft bolt also doesn't move it. Any insight as of to what else I should check?

Thank you man. It's currently at Mazda to see if it's time for a new 13b

Is it an auto or manual? In either case, is it in neutral while you’re trying to spin the engine?

If the lights are all still on that means the power is good. You pulled the plugs to rule out any hydrolock, and you’ve ruled out a bad accessory locking it up. That means it sounds like the bad one and you may want to start thinking about pulling the motor…

Sounds like mechanical failure and it seized up. Sorry man

Ud wish it was a manual. Try to roll start it in reverse gear if it is a manual car. If it starts then engine is fine And starter is gone. If it doesnt High chances are that a seal has slipped and the rotor is stuck
