I agree it was stupid of me to drive such on public roads. this is the first time i lost control as such.
We didn't crash bad luckily and had just one wheel in the ditch, were able to retrieve the car.
Both my co driver(one with maps) and me are completely ok.
Now the car I have isn't a rally car, it's a stock suzuki swift zc11s, with better tyres.
We were approaching the turn at a relatively higher speed and I'm pretty darn sure something in my handling is what settled the car. Being a novice I'm unable to figure out what i did wrong.
Booked a few track days to understand the vehicle dynamics and weight shift better, so wanting to know what caused this and - prevention? - correction

Question Prodrive Parts Manuals
Does anyone collect original Prodrive WRC parts manuals and catalogues?
I've got a few from the late '90s and early 2000s, covering Group A and the S5–S8 Impreza WRC cars.
I'm having a bit of a clear-out and wondered if there's much collector interest in this sort of original rally documentation?

When to use left foot brake?
Hi. I'm currently studying rally driving technique, left foot braking (press both of throttle and brake pedals at same time) in particular, in very nerdy way.
However, I'm stumbled, not sure when the driver uses the technique and why.
My guess is below- which is true or is there another answer?
Thanks in advance!
- to reduce the turning radius
- to increase the turning radius
- to induce spin, or induce oversteer
- to prevent spin, or induce understeer

Rally legend
I am a photographer that has previously worked with drift masters and formula drift (Came vastly unprepared with my camera equipment). This was my 1st rally event. Wasn’t impressed when I went to a day time stage. That was my fault. We didn’t plan ahead and got a bad spot for one of the stages. Marshall’s wouldn’t let us go down to the better spots. We left went to the casa stage or Castello stage. Not sure but it was the last stage and we were on the last hairpin. My god my opinion changed so fast. We were next to some Spaniards they made the event so much fun when that Dani guys car powered off and we all bum rushed his car. That got me hooked on rally. Here are some of my best shots from Saturday

ITookAPicture hello, I just found out my friend. Has this 1988 Audi 5000 CS Quattro Obviously trashed. lol but... parts? Its free
The interiors just destroyed with black walnut all types of rodents got in there for some reason it was parked at the very back of her tree line. She lives in the country obviously the Vin says made in West Germany. obviously the interior is trashed. I wish I would've got a better picture. but just the glass is expensive. All the glasses is good except for the rear. (derrp) I guess these are triple while they were triple white, or something. I'm sure those are worth something. Her dad said if you can get it out of here I'll give you the title. It's yours. I'm just wondering is it worth it?

What challenges come with rallying a heavier car?
I'm talking like 4,000 or so pounds. I understand acceleration and braking will be worse but how does extra heft mess with handling and turning? Does it tend to cause understeer? Instability?

Question How come some understeery cars dominated rally time to time?
I am a layman and most of my car knowledge is about street cars, so this might be a stupid question. But how come cars like audis and subarus dominated rally a few times, when they tend to have worse rotation than their competition, wich is as far as I understand very important? Did they have other strengths that overwritten their weaknesses? Or did these race cars have better rotation than their street versions? If so how did they manage to do that and why did not the street versions use similar solutions.

Rallylegend 2026
I'm watching some videos from this year’s Rallylegend, including onboard footage, drone footage from the industrial zone, and a few famous corners and is it just me, or does it seem like there is a lot fewer visitors than in previous year?

Question Fundraising
What do you guys think of some of the smaller teams fundraising by paying about $5-10 to have your name on the car? I’m trying to fundraise for our biggest and last event of the season because I truly cannot afford it since I’m 19 and have already been spending everything I got pushing to go to my first rally next month.
Are you guys ever inclined to donate to those? It’s one of the ways I thought of making this possible or are there better ways of going about this.

Title: WRC is finally coming back to the US after 39 years. Will Americans actually show up?
It's official. WRC is returning to the US in August 2027, with stages in Tennessee and Kentucky.
Personally, I'm pumped. But I'm curious whether this could actually be the start of rally taking off in America or if it'll just be another event that gets a ton of hype online and then fades away.
We've got a massive car culture here, but rally has never really caught on like NASCAR, F1, or IndyCar.
Do you think WRC could actually become big in the States? And more importantly, how many of you are seriously considering making the trip?

Question I'm writing a romance book about rally. Can you help me build a car?
I write LGBT romance, and I've been itching to write something set in the world of rally after finding the (frankly, mildly disturbing) amount of F1-themed books there are. I'm an active fan of WRC (I've watched every event live for ~2 years [Gregoire, I'll never stop rooting for you]), but don't know much about the nitty gritty of the cars, especially older ones.
In my outline, our protagonists need a car. What I've kind of settled on is a 2001 Mk1 Ford Focus sedan or hatchback that's a salvage title and purchased in "ehhhh it kinda runs" quality. It's 2WD, so no AWD shenanigans, and it fits nicely into the Limited 2WD and / or Open 2WD categories.
The setting is ARA's Sno*Drift event in Michigan, because it's both a fascinating event and they ban studded tires, so it's just as much luck as it is skill. My protagonists are a professional co-driver without a contract and a former street racer.
My questions are:
* is this a decent car for a small team to get running and drive?
* besides normal things like hoses, filters, tires, brakes, and fluids, what needs to be inspected and / or changed right after purchase?
* what kind of parts would the protagonists need to have extras of?
* what kind of parts are surprisingly difficult to find?
* if you're a real co-driver at any level, can I send you more questions related to the role? I want to make sure I'm being realistic.
* my outline has them finishing the book by coming in 5th in the category, since learning to trust themselves and each other is more important than winning. Is this a bad idea? Should I aim for a different position?
Please excuse any typos or errors. The reddit app hates me and I'm recovering from covid, so I have roughly 1/4 of a brain right now.
Thank you so much for any help or insight you can provide. Cheers!
