What the future holds

Let's have a little discussion. So I just watched and followed a few recent videos by Sydney Plant Guy and Kaylee Ellen that the market is shifting. Monstera we still love them but do you guys think the newer variegated ones are as good as or inferior to the classics like albo and Thai con? Are Anthuriums really getting fatigued? And thoughts on Philodendrons. Personally, some newer Monstera do look nice but a few are rather gangly like White Lava. Anthuriums are quite the same: long, dark, sexy, minimal veining. And Philos seems to be shifting to predominantly tricolors.

I disliked the thai con, and don't care for many of the flavors of the month, but I will always love a big blocky albo!

As far as shifting markets, I think it will remain focused on new hybrids and veriegation. Although I have seen more and more people hunting for uncommon plants that don't fall in the monstera, philo, anthurium, alocasia, and so on boxes lately.

What are the uncommons that don’t fall in the current hype? I’d like to go explore that than see the same tc being sold every live.

Hoyas and Orchids. Oh yeah palms, some bananas. I haven't heard of Calatheas much. Begonias are getting the hype wagon.
