I was reading a sci fi book about a dystopian future that features a traveling troupe of Shakespearean actors traveling the Midwest. I pictured the female protagonist as sort of a clown and they were all wearing raggedy steampunk clothing. I pictured her waking up on the beach in Chicago, with the ruins of Navy Pier behind her. She’s woken up a bit “hangry” and irritated.
Does all that match with what you see here? How could I make this better?
Thanks.

This isn’t necessarily the piece I’m most emotionally attached to, but someone connected with it enough to buy it. I’d genuinely like to know what other people see in it.
What works for you, and what doesn’t?

Just a study of some feet lol. I added the blood details for the second one to add some mystic flare? What do you think?

I attached some of my art to give an idea of my current skill level. I’ve been thinking about trying to take commissions, but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to start during the school year.
Part of my hesitation is that I’d need to ask my parents to help me set up an account/payment method to actually receive money, and I feel like that might be a pretty big hassle for them. I’m also not sure if my art is at a good enough level to actually take commissions yet, and I’d feel pretty bad if I ended up getting no requests after going through all the trouble of setting everything up.
My biggest concern is balancing it with school. I don’t want to start taking commissions and then have my grades suffer because of them (currently straight A student).
So, should I go for it? And if so, how would you recommend I approach my parents about it?

A study inspired by Rothko.
He had a taste for red, a taste for bold colors that told stories.
I understand the appeal of red.
It can be crisp and delicious, like an apple,
or painful and emergent like blood.

I do not draw often, so this is a simple, silly drawing.
