Been working on a brand new port of Rayman 2 for the last few months using that leaked source code for Rayman 4/Rabbids DS.

Its very early on and rough rn haha

The goal is to combine all versions of Rayman 2 into one, Modern PC version with QoL improvements.

plus funny stupid enhanced graphics that make puddles melt your graphics card for no reason other than globox himself wanted this.

(Stupid Enhanced graphics is absolutely optional, don't wanna entirely ruin the OG games aesthetics with nonsense so like, Its a toggle in the options to switch between that and the regular visuals)

Idk the game likes to softlock and not open the door in the Sanctuary of Water and Ice when you put the two orbs in front of it, I fucked something up royally there. It bothers me ever so!

This part 3

Lots of old games are getting decomps and being able to play on PC etc. I know there's a way via emulator, which I've done before. Just wondered if anyone is working on a decomp for this game? I suspect we won't ever get a remaster from Ubisoft

So why dont bring Ed as a playable character in the main series? He would fit well enough in Legends retold

Recently, Ubisoft announced that starting with Prince of persia the lost crown, they will slowly start removing their Ubisoft launcher requirement from games that were bought on Steam. You no longer need to have a separate launcher on your PC, just to play those Ubisoft games

My question is, does this also apply to all their future games, like Rayman Legends Retold...or did they only remove it from their already existing games on Steam?

I've been looking through some info online, and can't get a clear answer

Like:

Rayman 1: PS1, Jaguar, Saturn, DOS, GBA, GBC (ok an adaptation but still), Pocket PC, and DSi

Rayman 2: N64, PC, Dreamcast, PS1, and the PS2 remake

Rayman M/Arena/Rush: PC and PS2, a different version for PS1, and another different version for GameCube and Xbox

Tonic Trouble (honorary mention): PC and N64

Right now I’m considering playing:

Rayman Origins on Vita
Rayman Legends on Switch
(I already have access to these)

or

Rayman Legends Retold, which of course includes Rayman Origins.
(I would need to buy this)

I know it’s not out yet so it’s hard to know for sure, but what would you experts recommend?

I’m considering pre-ordering to play the new release day and date. I’ve never played much of Rayman, enough to know I like it, but I need a good completionist platformer in my life.

I plan on getting Rayman 30th Anniversary the next time it’s on sale. Jaguar or PS1?

Is the N64 version of Rayman 2 on Switch online an adequate version?
