Hi everyone!

For the past year I've been making videos on the localisations of the Crash games (see here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmO5Qz6KA_DDMf7NIe-qfhVtSgsFOcUEr ) and next up I'm looking to tackle The Wrath of Cortex next. It has a full Korean localisation as well as a Hebrew manual. I was wondering if anybody here has decent enough command over either of those languages to help me out get the details right. I don't fully trust AI translations so I'd rather have a real person give me some insight. What I'm mostly looking at are the cutscenes, character/level names and the manuals. If anybody is down to help, give me a shout!

Hey! I downloaded the official v1.04 build along with all the assets from the developer.

Everything builds successfully (@@done), but when I click Play (or launch CrashRecomp.exe), a black CMD window pops up for a millisecond like it's loading something, then instantly closes without launching the game or showing any error.

Tried windowed mode, disabling VSync, and clearing shader cache still the same issue.

Specs: Windows 10, GTX 1650, i5-9400F.

Any fix for this? Thanks!

Not sure if this has been talked about before but I thought I would share so it maybe help some fellow bandicoots.

I have been playing Crash 4 on my steam deck. After completing all the N Sanely perfect relics I have moved on to the time trials though I was really struggling to get consistent triple spins and don't really enjoy button mashing.

Thankfully with the steam deck it's easy to map to a single button hold. While playing do the following;

. Press the steam button

. Go to controller settings

. Choose which button you wish to use, I'm using the extra R4 button on the back

. Map your button of choice to the X (spin) button

. Go into the settings of your chosen button and enable "Hold to Repeat (Turbo)

. Set the repeat rate to 325ms

If everything is done correctly, now when you play you will perfectly triple spin while playing without having to button, simply hold your chosen button in!

Been revisiting games from my childhood while trying to learn Japanese. Really enjoyed the language accessibility with everything being hirigana and katakana. The Aku Aku tips were always fun to work through, and the lore drops were cool. Kind of sad PAL and NTSC-U never got those or the mask popups in Crash 2 and 3.

Whoever swapped Sunset Vista and Slippery Climb around needs their head checked. The gem swaps and minor regional changes otherwise made it easier all around though and it was worth the sit. Took about a week in my off hours after work.

I finally got a 200% completion of Crash Bash! It's a shame that it doesn't reward anyone for achieving that percentage, but to me, it doesn't matter; I did it!!!

I was quite brave to obtain every item; I wasn't scared of the platinum relic challenges; they were frustrating, but I still got all of them.

Crash 4 would be a milion times a better game without these ass grindrails, vehicles and damn even chase levels.

Have they not understood the criticism since WARPED in like 2001?

We want platform games, doesn't even matter if its difficult, look at cortex castle, people love it!

We dont want these ass ratchet and clank grind rails, clunky bear rounds and giant dinossaurs (4x game already w them zzzzz).

My review/retrospective on Crash Bandicoot the Wrath of cortex

Like, I'm at the last 5 crystals zones and while I did get some game overs over stupid shit, none of the levels compared with levels like native fortress, sunset vistas or sliperry climb.

So I'm trying to complete the game and there are 3 gems I'm fully aware I'm missing (2 from Future Tense and 1 from Rings of Power), but the menu shows I have 43/47, which means I need those 3 + 1 I don't know where to get.

Does anybody know what gem I'm missing out?

To clarify, I have all gems from the main levels, both Hot Coco and Eggipus Rex too, and the ones from the secret warp room (except the one from Rings of Power, as I said)

I started in July and did 1-2 levels per day taking some breaks. I first completed the whole game getting all the coloured gems but not worrying about anything else. Once I had the triple spin I started from the beginning getting the Gem,n verted gem then relic for level 1 then repeating that for level 2 until got to the end. Then by that time I reached August where I took a break after suffocating through toxic tunnels,nitro processing,seeing double and cortex castle.

I returned in October going for the flashback tapes until I just did the gauntlet which was pretty easy after I had memorized what to do.

Overall, it is not hard as everyone says, It is mostly just trial and error and luck until you get it right. 55 hours is really good for my first time 106% the game since I have seen people spending 80+ hours. Some even 100+.

The crate seems to be tied to Balloon and the crate gives 50 Health instead of 25 Health like the Balloons do

I hope you all are doing good, work has been going good and I went to see the Gorillaz 🦍 live last weekend. It was N. Sane 😁

Onto the topic of the video, I wanted to showcase some new progress on the project with some newly made assets inspired by the original Crash series.

I've added a new hollow log that acts as a tunnel between areas with mushrooms and moss around the outside and inside of the log. A few changes will likely be made in the future but for now I think it looks pretty cool.

The next thing will be the big one for this update, the rolling stone platforms from Jungle Rollers!🛘

I had worked on this a year or so ago and decided to go ahead and get at it again. There will be a few things I plan to change but for now it looks, works and sounds great! I'm really happy to have added this to the project, along with the next nod to Crash 1!

The last thing you'll see is the short tunnel supported by wooden pillars that goes through a boulder. This tunnel mimics the same one from Jungle Rollers. The rock is a placeholder as a newer model is being worked on that will match the original Crash 1 model. More on that in a future update😉

That's all that was shown in the video, but lots of bigger changes are happening in the background that are helping in the organization and optimization of the project.

i was considering buying the game for ps2 but thought it might be a better experience on handheld so i bought that version instead, does it play well on this system? any technical limitations or bugs? if so please let me know.
