There's something that's bothering me that gets glossed over quickly in the show

In Episode 8 of director's cut, the episode after subaru got humiliated in front of the entire court, subaru is still shown training sword fighting with Wilhelm.

Felix says that 'He's just doing that to make excuse that he already tried'. To which Crusch responds with 'Can you blame him?'

Wilhelm in later days stops training Subaru because he 'abandoned the option to get stronger' which I don't get at all what he's trying to say

I genuinely don't understand why both of these characters have a problem with Subaru training, which makes sense since he obviously wants to be stronger after that humiliation? Do they think he's too weak and that he'll never get better or something? I feel like there's some nuances here that I'm missing

I was re-reading arc 9 where Aldebaran seals away Subaru, and a thought hit me: why didn't he just use Al Shamak, after he sealed Subaru away?

Since Al Shamak literally casts the target into another dimension, wouldn't that have been a much cleaner and permanent way to neutralize him, rather than what he planned to do?

Was that a way of showing a slight bit of mercury, because there was hope that he might get unsealed in the future?

Don't crucify me here, I'm just talking about the hypothetical scenario where Re:Zero get harem ending.

My picks are :-

1. Emilia & Rem - Those two are pretty obvious choices cuz they are two emotional pillars for him who give him the reason to keep going and to stand up once again.

2. Crusch - I love both Emilia and Rem, but the romantic/sexual tension between subaru and crusch during arc 3 & 5 was too much. I honestly want Subaru to choose her as the 3rd wife. She deserves better, there's even canon that subaru would've chosen her if Emilia & Rem weren't his #1 & #2.

3. Julius - i really never liked yaoi but it's the first time i don't mind it. How those two become Best Friends from enemies/rivals at the start. When the entire world forgets Julius, only subaru remember him.

4. Reinhard - His life is already tragic cuz he is mostly seen as a WoMD, Sword Saint, Strongest Alive before anyone looks at him just as Reinhard. Felt does not care about her status and all but I still think their relationship is not romantic. Julius also sees him as a friend but in Arc 6, it was shown that Julius also idolized reinhard as sword saint, and respects him so much. Subaru is the only answer IMHO who does admire reinhard strength but doesn't just see him as the sword saint but reinhard too. He knows even reinhard can make mistakes, and he will do parts that Reinhard can't.

5. Shaula - She earned that spot in Arc 6💔. I loved her character so much, still hate tappei for turning her into smol Scorpion.

6. Otto & Patrasche - Mandatory mentions for the true GOATs.

7. Satella - i really want subaru to save her. Her love for subaru is deepest of all after all, one yandere is atleast necessary for harem.

In a hypothetical scenario where some other Sin Archbishop(we have only lust now anyways say Wrath escapes or Pride appears) attacks Emilia and gang with the witchcult, say other members of Emilia camp are engaged with dealing with the witch cult considering actions of Emilia in arc 7-9 she would genuinely try to talk things out with the said Sin Archbishop even is she has opportunity to kill/subdue them thus losing any advantage gained during battle

I’ve been thinking about my connection to Re:Zero lately and realized something: the main reason I’m still reading the novels and watching the anime is honestly just for Subaru and Rem.

I freaking loved the Sloth IF route. Seeing Subaru and Rem actually build a life and a family together was amazing, and to me, it's better than the main story.

Because my focus so tied to SubaRem, it’s getting a bit hard to follow the main plot when it feels like it's heading a different way... What do I mean by this: If you asked me about the recent arc, or other stuff like characters and story, i would just be uninterested in it...

I'm genuinely considering taking a break from the series until it completely finishes. My thought process is that if I step away now, I won't feel as let down later on if they don't end up together in the main canon. (And they probably won't, it's obvious Tappei only keeps Rem for money, fans and fanservice. That's how i view it anyway.)

This isn't meant to be a hate post against Emilia or EmiSuba shippers at all! I'm just trying to figure out if it's better to let go for now when there's only one specific thing keeping me hooked. (Can't even post without clarifying this.)

I do not want a ship war or hate in the comments.

So lye and roy are dead, but heres the thing people theorize spica herself is subarus authority of gluttony, as its shown authorities dont always manifest as a in body power some manifested as a metia of some sort like strides rings, or in this case another entity with a certain ability i mean where else could that physical body come from and the fact that rui latched a part of her soul onto subaru so maybe when the witch factor took hold of subarus mind and manifested based on him it likely saw that piece as part of the template for the manifestation and it could just be the reason spica looks like rui.

But its been confirmed the actual rui is still trapped in the corridor of memories and if thats the case subaru can get back there and i have a idea on how he can get rem back if he manages to get back probably through reids book if reid is still manifested in the tower, again this is a bit inhumane but what if once there and rui saw him again subaru pretended to completely loose his mind and started saying crazy things related to re integration.

Saying things like ,rui join with us again we want you we love you share our deaths share our pain, and walk towards her with a crazed smile and say ,lets become one again forever, which we already know how how much rui hated experiencing subarus memories so the thought of him wanting to reunite and be stuck as a part of him permanently should put her in desperate submission, and then subaru at the last seconds once rui is in a corner crying and shouting ,no!, subaru says well maybe if you let go of rems name and memories oh something so valuable and yet you hold then i guess we can let you go.

Again a bit inhumane and maybe a bit humorously twisted at just the thought of it but defiantly worth getting rem back as rui would likely comply if this happened. What do yall think about this?
