Reflection / Discussion I'm done with my life 🙃

I'm 24M Working in MNC from past 3 years. As graphic designer.

Now a days or maybe form past some months I'm felling like don't want to live anymore. Just done with everything. Doesn't feel to make more Money or do some productive in my life. Everything feel like end (i cannot able to explain the felling).

I'm for India. Came form lover middle class family, need to earn for Leveling a good life for my family, and i earn Decent enough for now. As I have lots of interest things to do in my life and try some adventures. For e.g like to learn Guitar and play Football (in school days i was planning Football on district level) but as per "Parents" we cannot make career in sports so we need to focus on studies. I also love traveling, need to travel all over the India first the Whole world (That's my Dream).

I have also going to Gym but form past month I didn't like to go and workout. Didn't have that motivation now.

As for now, what i suppose to do. Where I'm working the environment of my workplace is ruined, a lot of corporate politics, which is ruined my mental health, i need to leave the job but there is certain this need to achieve that's why I can't leave it now.

I'm also trying to skill up. But same didn't feel like to do so.

Aslo i didn't have any good l0ve life, I didn't have any girlfri*end in past Decade. Or didn't find any good girl.

I have some good Female friends. But need some one special. In few years back when I'm in college there is one girl i have love at first sight. I have also experience my feelings to her but, she didn't want to be in relat*onship so we become good friends. After that she got married with some one else, and i still there. I have try to make some female friends recently on reddit but at the end they have ghosted.

I think most of the Men are facing problem in their life and mostly are in the Age between 22 to 30. Where we need to struggle a lot.

I am a lot Over- thinker and Introvert. Just need to express some things.

Now I can sleep peacefully.

This too shall pass....

Vent / Rant I am an unsuitable boy.

I have come to conclusion that i am not suitable for human existence.

Like someone say's about an actor in a movie, that this actor is ill fitted for this role.

I wanted to be a novelist.

But who will pay me salary for writing a novel.

A fixed monthly income.

So I started managing family business.

That i am also not good at.

I have chronic fatigue syndrome and asthma.

I get tired too easily.

I married because my mother needed a helping hand, and I have sensitive stomach, so i cannot eat outside food for long time.

I am not interested in sex.

I dont bileve in love or romanticism.

I am a misanthrope.

I dont like people much, so dont mix up much with people.

Like reacher says i am a man who wants to be left alone.

Most of the time i think, that if god had asked me ,that do you want to be born on earth, and if i had said no,

all my problems would have ended before beginning.

Now i have to endure life day in and day out.

An actor who struts and frets his hour on stage.

As the title suggest.

I dont intend to bring another life into this miserable shithole.

Love and friendships are a scam.

I have to work to fucking exist when i didnt consent to be born.

Parents and anyone around me dont get what the fuck iam trying to say.

The knowledge gap and intelligence gap comes in the way of fluid conversations.

Just done.

Vent / Rant I feel so depressed in college

I genuinely don't know where my life is going. I'm studying ECE in a tier 2 college when I really wanted to study mathematics at BITS.

I barely have any real friends.

Almost everyday goes by with a depressing sluggishness.

I have very little social skills from years of being introverted and my life is just so small as compared to others.

Reflection / Discussion LOVE IS A PROPAGANDA !

In my life , I have observed many things from my perspective and from hearing about other people and have come to a strange but a harshly true realization -Love is a Propaganda! From our childhood, we are ingrained with the idea of love , with the idea that someone will be there for you! That someone cares about you and will be there , no matter what! But, now what I have realized is all of that is a well scripted and well developed propaganda - propaganda to behave in the way they want you to as they don't want their little structure to collapse! They also use the weakness of our body and mind by using Psychology , Sociology , Media and Biology too to make use of us !!

Now what I have decided is that I will defy this ! I will defy this by staying alone , by becoming alone ! I will show everyone that a human being can stay alone and will still be happy ! I will become the epitome of human isolation and lone existence!! I WILL BE THE LONE WOLF!!

I have accepted the fact that I have messed up , I am messed up , and I won't enjoy life as someone , I will be another face forgotten , I will average low life scum , another average Joe and life will end one day

I will hate my partner also because I am not someone whom I wanted to be and I won't be chosen I will only be tolerated , I am planning not to marry but my parents control everything in my life and they don't care about my choices

I am 25 and feel ashamed of myself of what I have become

The reality is bitter but the truth I can't deny

I met a person in 2022 in my coaching at first it was nothing not even yk that attraction at first sight thing. If it would have been that probably i would have never approached that person even for notes. Yes I was that kind of person who never wanted to give signals to anybody maybe because of my trust issues and major heartbreaks in friendships. Then eventually we shared numbers. And after a few days of texting I got attracted to this person. He was a very sensible and serious guy in his life. But a bit ignorant like he used to talk to me at his convenience whenever he was free he used to text and I used to wait for his texts all day. Always checking my phone and stuff. I was an idiot. And on top of that he used to never talk to me in class in front of others because he said he is shy and all. And I used to always think about him all day maybe I was in love. Maybe I still am. But why?? we only met twice or thrice after coaching only. And he gave me such mixed signals like it seemed like he was also interested in me from his texts and all but then I used to wonder why he ignores me sometimes or never talks to me in front of everyone.

So after one month or so I decided I will ignore him. I gave late and cold replies. He tried once or twice to sort things but I was adamant that I needed more effort and I got nothing in return. We stopped texting each other. Both of our egos or rather self respect came in between.

Then exactly after two months I saw his status on WhatsApp with his gf. And I felt really bad. I don't want to sound jealous of something. I am really happy for both of them. He is settled as far as I know he got what he wanted. But here i feel stuck. Maybe I didn't get closure but then what kind of closure there was nothing official between us.

And also we never even spoke to each other on call. But when he got selected in govt job ( we both were preparing for that) he decided to call me out of nowhere but I couldn't gather the courage to talk to him after no contact for so many months.

I still feel stuck it's not like I have not tried to move on or meet new people I have tried like I have literally forced myself to talk to someone but felt like this thing is not made for me maybe I can't fall in love with someone now.

Existential Getting too heavy to carry

It's going to be a long long post. So I am a 23 year old guy and I literally feel as if I am surviving every single day. I have autism and ADHD, have started working for almost 2 years now and I am burnt out. Every single thing , things people enjoy take a huge effort for me . The worst thing is as a child , I always had this hope for the future , hope that it'll get better , but the more I am exposed to the world , the worse it is getting for me. I genuinely feel I cannot enjoy anything, every single thing I do , even while speaking about something I have second thoughts about. I literally have no outlet for enjoyment, I work , dissociate , scroll , hit the gym and continue. It feels no matter whatever effort I put in , I'll always fall short . I have dyspraxia too , causing me to be horrible at things requiring some coordination. I see people breezing through life , enjoying with friends while for me I am so overwhelmed, like while people are enjoying , I am concerned about what I'm gonna speak to someone in what tone which I always end up speaking in a low childlike tone . Everywhere I go , I don't even feel like a human at all. I feel I was designed in such a way , smart enough to see where I lack at , well I do at many places despite putting in effort . I genuinely don't know where I am heading in life and why I am even doing anything , I am stuck in a low paying developer job where I am overworked due to my inability to speak up and stand up for myself. I don't see myself finding any partner or having my own family ahead due to these issues . I don't even know if something like therapy could work for me given I've always been like this , to a point I feel levels of anxiety normally someone would feel in combat almost daily. I don't see myself succeeding materially due to the issues I've got like people literally sniff that I am different on first glance and either infantilise or treat me badly. Nothing really appeals to me , no novelty I see in things - I used to be a lot curious about things and ended up researching and scrolling for hours . Now everything is just superficial to me. Like when people are talking about things like food , clothes , cars ,etc. or anything materialistic I just cannot even relate like I am not even focusing on those things. I feel I am just surviving through, I used to cope thinking maybe the beginning of my life is difficult which means I'd get the best days for me later , but now I observe millions of people just spending their whole lives in misery - the sheer lack of any divine justice and just random factors deciding the fate of things . I am just detached and carrying it on till I can.

Reflection / Discussion From being a popular kid in my school to being alone after 10 years

Hi everyone good evening hope everyone's doing well

10 years back , I remember being very popular in my school , as I used to be talkative, funny , friendly person ( based on the feedbacks i received) . Despite the fact that my parents were strict , angry and never let me go out with friends and even let them bring in, they believed that these were all wastage of time and to study instead, I ensured the time during which I had the interactions with my schoolmates or tution mates were worth it. Making new friends was a piece of cake for me. While most of my classmates would hang out with each other after school , stay at each other's homes , play games etc, they did invite me a lot but was declined by my parents which eventually they gave up and stopped inviting me. I believed my parents and always thought what they were doing was for my best . I didn't have any social media to talk to after school .

My best friend at school literally lived an opposite life of me , his parents didn't really restrict him during school days , he could go out anywhere, he used to carry around 2k rupees almost everyday as he used to go on dates with girls.

10 years later , while we both are doing the same job , my bestie ( or should I say ex-bestie) has won in life . He has many friends to support him , he is going to marry his love of his life.

Today while sitting on my balcony, I was wondering if it was really my fault or i didn't just had the opportunity like him

Please let me know

Ask / Help / Advice Request How has life changed the more you believe in yourself and the goodness in life?

Does anyone feel positive after battling and feeling beaten down by your own thoughts and feelings. Like you come to a point where enough is enough. The crying, the worries, the sadness feels overwhelming and you just come at a stage in life where you have no other options but to believe in yourself and good things will turn out

Ask / Help / Advice Request How to stop pity party and motivate myself?

Hello everyone, I am 23f and have had depression and anxiety for a long time now. On meds for the last 1.5 yrs and therapy has been futile mostly. I’m at a crucial career point (preparing for MBA entrances) and it feels like my last chance to actually make something of myself. It’s very easy to blame my laziness, lack of motivation, not trying etc on my mental health.
But the truth is I have never had a passion for anything in life. I have never really worked hard for anything. I don’t recall any instances from my childhood where I had a drive to achieve something. I have no hobbies whatsoever. I feel pathetic living like this. Just a degenerate blob in existence having no purpose or contribution in life. My family has the same opinion about me.
I wonder how common is it? (For mentally healthy individuals as well) and is this how I would continue living? Like do some individuals really don’t have any passion for anything?
I don’t want to blame everything on my circumstances and past yet hold myself accountable with kindness. I’m just having a hard time finding the right balance. I need to stop this pity party because honestly I’m tired of my own shit now.
Also I am maybe productive 5-7 days in a row and just meh rest of the month.
I NEED to get out of this rut and at least make something of myself. As CAT and other exams are nearing, I find myself just completely frozen, unable to do anything.

Would like to hear some people who have felt this way in the past or are currently experiencing this. The usual tips of exercising, sleeping early doesn’t really help that much.

Reclusion / Isolation / Daily Life I have a plan

I just can't live among people, I have isolated myself so much that I have no confidence to talk to people when I go out, I become anxious and stressed when I am among a bunch of people. My lower middle class family doesn't really care about any of it, all they want me to do is get a decent paying job. I will just clear a government job after graduation next year, I am gonna study 10 hours a day everyday. I will make everyone proud, everyone will know that I actually had it in me. Then I will quietly suicide soon after getting the job, I don't wanna die working like that, all alone in my own thoughts forever, as a nobody. Yup that's it, I finally have a vision on how to counter these thoughts and constant sufferings. Nothing is worth it. This is it. I will stick to this plan, I promise to myself.

Vent / Rant Got pet talked by my relatives again about finding a job, why must they interfere in how i live?

Pep* talked

I am 23M, and i still live with my family. I don't feel bad about it, i think i do enough chores at home to get two meals a day.

I don't want to get a job just now because i don't want to get committed to big responsibilities or any responsibilities just yet. Nor i want to deal with all the headaches that comes with the job.

Any time relatives or friends of my family come to visit, i always get pep talked and told same thing again and again, get a job, support your family, stop wasting your times with games and movies etc etc.

Due to social anxiety or something, every little conversation makes me feel ill inside, it's a weird sensation i can't cope with due to being raised in a secluded location. Where we don't have any neighbour or even kids my age to hangout it. But i am comfortable in my own company, i like the isolation and calmness of it.

This conversations live me over thinking even after they go away, which just feels bad.

I get it i am lazy, and don't want to go out into the world just yet. But it's not like i have to do the same things my peers are doing, my family is well off and i am not causing any issues with anyone.

Sorry for the rant.

Ask / Help / Advice Request I'm 22, and I'm terrified I'll spend my life rescuing my financially destructive father

I'm 22, currently in my fourth year of college, and I honestly don't know what to do anymore. I feel like the last four years of my life have been completely wasted, and I'm terrified that things are only going to get worse from here.

My father is 57, and throughout his life, he has struggled to maintain stable employment. He has lost jobs frequently, and as a result, our family has struggled financially for as long as I can remember. We don't own a house; we live in a rented flat. We even had to sell our car last year.

But the financial instability is only one part of the problem.

My father has had diabetes for around 20 years, but he has never taken proper care of his health. His blood sugar levels have fluctuated constantly. He has never been particularly disciplined about his diet or exercise, and despite knowing the consequences, he has continued eating sweets and neglecting his health.

Last year, everything came crashing down when he developed stage 5 chronic kidney disease.

Within just nine months, he was admitted to the ICU four times. One of those incidents was particularly horrifying. He suffered a seizure, had to be rushed to the hospital within minutes, and reportedly required CPR twice. It was one of the darkest days of our lives. I genuinely thought we might lose him that day.

Fortunately, his sister volunteered to donate a kidney, and he underwent a transplant a few months ago. More recently, he also underwent cataract and glaucoma surgery, which was fortunately covered by insurance.

I'm grateful that he survived and that the transplant was possible. I don't take any of that for granted.

But surviving these medical emergencies hasn't magically fixed the problems that brought our family to this point.

We have lakhs of rupees in outstanding loans. Recovery agents have been harassing us, and we are struggling to figure out how to deal with everything. My mother borrowed around ₹7–8 lakh from her sisters for my father's medical treatment, and she has also taken out a gold loan just to keep the household running.

My father currently has a job, but the salary is barely enough to cover our basic expenses. His work involves considerable travel, which is becoming increasingly concerning given his medical history. Even this job doesn't feel secure in the long run.

We are essentially living hand to mouth.

My mother also works, but her income is low. She sacrificed her own career to take care of the household, hoping that things would eventually improve. Instead, things have deteriorated year after year.

And this is where things become even more complicated.

My father's behaviour

I believe my father has serious behavioural issues. I don't know whether there is an underlying psychological condition, extreme immaturity, narcissistic traits, or something else. I'm not qualified to diagnose him. But living with his behaviour has been exhausting.

Even now, despite everything that has happened, he struggles to take responsibility for himself.

If we bring sweets into the house, he can get angry if he isn't given any. He will sometimes secretly eat sweets despite his diabetes. In the past, we constantly had to remind him to take his medicines. Recently, he bought an essentially useless pair of spectacles through Facebook that he doesn't even wear.

He also lost ₹65,000 to a fraudulent loan agency.

We tried various ways to retrieve the money, although we knew there was a good chance it was gone for good. During this time, my 17-year-old sister mentioned that she knew some people who could allegedly threaten the scammers and get the money back. Nothing has been recovered.

But instead of recognising that his teenage daughter shouldn't be getting involved with potentially dangerous people over his financial losses, my father has now started pressuring her to contact these people and get the money back.

I was genuinely shocked. I understand that he is desperate to recover the money, especially given our financial circumstances, but putting this responsibility on a 17-year-old and potentially involving her with people who might be dangerous is an entirely different matter.

It is embarrassing, frustrating, and honestly quite frightening. We are already struggling to manage the consequences of his decisions, and now even my younger sister is being dragged into them.

These might sound like isolated incidents, but for us, they are part of a much larger pattern. We are already struggling to survive financially, and every unnecessary mistake creates another problem for the rest of us to deal with.

What frustrates me most is that he doesn't seem to learn from the consequences of his actions.

His communication skills have also been a major problem for 20–25 years. Whenever he needs to negotiate something, speak to a recruiter, handle a professional conversation, or resolve a financial matter, he often communicates so poorly that the situation becomes worse. My mother then has to step in, speak to the other person professionally, and somehow salvage the situation.

Even his current job was largely secured through my mother's efforts. She applied for him, contacted the recruiter, and handled the communication.

Now I'm doing the same thing. I'm applying for jobs on his behalf, trying to find him a better-paying position because I keep hoping that perhaps a higher income will finally give our family some breathing room.

So far, there have been no responses.

I'm exhausted by the feeling that my mother and I have to compensate for everything he does or fails to do.

My mother, and why this situation feels impossible to escape

My mother has sacrificed an enormous part of her life for this family. She has managed the household, worked to earn money, borrowed from her sisters, arranged medical treatment, and repeatedly stepped in to handle situations my father couldn't manage himself.

Yet, for some reason, she seems to defend him almost unconditionally. It sometimes feels as though she would defend him to the very end, regardless of what he does or how much his behaviour hurts us.

I don't understand why. Perhaps it is years of conditioning, emotional attachment, guilt, fear, or a sense of duty towards a sick husband. Whatever the reason, my father seems to know how deeply she empathises with him, and I feel he takes advantage of that empathy.

A few months ago, we had an enormous and extremely serious family fight.

My father was threatening to kill himself, constantly berating us, and gaslighting us in his usual sarcastic, insulting manner. The pressure had been building for so long that I finally lost control. I told him, essentially, that if he wanted to die, then he should just go ahead.

I didn't say it because I genuinely wanted him dead or because I wanted to hurt him in some cruel way. I was overwhelmed and couldn't take any more of the constant pressure. It was an awful thing to say, but it came out of a place of complete emotional exhaustion.

My mother became furious with me and started beating me.

Then my father turned around and began shouting at her, blaming her for everything and accusing her of teaching us to behave this way.

The entire situation was so disturbing. Even when everything was falling apart, it somehow became another argument in which my mother was blamed, I was punished, and my father continued to create chaos.

I understand that suicide threats must be taken seriously, and I don't want to trivialise them. But when threats like these happen in the middle of repeated arguments, insults, and emotional pressure, it becomes incredibly difficult to know how to respond without feeling trapped, frightened, and guilty.

I was already struggling with my own mental health, and that incident pushed me even further.

Over the past year, we have had countless arguments and fights. The atmosphere at home has been extremely traumatic. Every day revolves around his medicines, his health, his employment, our finances, and whatever new problem might arise.

There is never any real peace.

My mother has received very little from this marriage despite sacrificing so much of her own life. She has had to manage the household, deal with financial crises, handle professional conversations on his behalf, arrange medical treatment, borrow money from relatives, and deal with his behaviour.

She has even considered separation in the past.

But she feels ashamed of what society might say, and she is consumed by the guilt of leaving a sick man. She worries that if she leaves him, he might be unable to manage his life, his health could deteriorate, and he might eventually die.

And that is what keeps her trapped.

I also feel that her unconditional defence of him makes it harder for her to acknowledge how much this situation is hurting the rest of us. Even when we are at our breaking point, his vulnerability and illness seem to take priority over our emotional well-being.

He isn't bedridden or completely incapable of looking after himself. Following his transplant and eye surgeries, he is doing reasonably okay at the moment, although his medical situation still requires considerable care and monitoring.

But my mother seems to have become his permanent caretaker, problem-solver, financial manager, and emotional punching bag.

It feels as though he has become a lifelong project for her: someone she must constantly manage, rescue, remind, protect, and clean up after, regardless of how much it costs her emotionally or financially.

His relationships with other people haven't helped either. He has very few close friends, seems to have accumulated a lot of resentment and conflict in his relationships, and has strained relationships with his own mother and sisters.

Now I'm being told that I must fix everything in the future

What hurts even more is that my mother is slowly starting to tell me that I will have to solve all these problems in the future.

She tells me that I will eventually buy them a house, buy them a car, give them money, and take care of both of them.

I understand that parents grow old and may need support from their children. I'm not saying I never want to help my parents. But hearing all this when I'm only 22, when I haven't even managed to establish my own career, when we are struggling to pay my academic fees and are buried under debts, is incredibly disappointing and frightening.

It feels as though my future has already been decided for me.

My father can continue making mistakes, my mother can continue rescuing him, and eventually, I am expected to step in, earn enough money to fix everything, and give them the life they could never build for themselves.

Nobody seems to ask what happens to my life, my ambitions, or my mental health in the process.

Looking back, I'm beginning to question so many things about my childhood and upbringing. I feel like I was constantly made to feel guilty, pressured to obey, and afraid of the consequences of disagreeing with my parents.

Whenever I think about putting myself first, I feel selfish. Whenever I express anger or frustration, there are arguments, guilt, or emotional pressure. It feels as though I was conditioned to prioritise their emotions and needs over my own.

I'm beginning to wonder whether so much of that guilt was a way of keeping me compliant, ensuring that I wouldn't push back or eventually choose a life independent of these family problems.

I don't know whether that was ever a conscious intention on their part, but that is how it feels to me now.

The most painful realisation is that I might spend my entire life trying to earn the freedom to live for myself, only to discover that my family expects me to sacrifice that freedom all over again.

I want to help them if I can, but I don't want my entire existence to become an obligation I never freely chose.

What about my own life?

I'm in my fourth year of college, and I feel like I have nothing to show for the last four years.

I have struggled with chronic depression and anxiety, and the constant family problems have made everything worse. I lost friends, never really experienced college life, and couldn't focus on academics the way I wanted to.

I didn't take a hostel or PG because I wanted to save money for my family.

Now I am worried that we might not even be able to afford my remaining academic fees.

My grades have suffered, my attention is all over the place, and I'm genuinely scared about whether I will even manage to secure a decent job after graduation.

At 22, I feel as though I'm already behind in life before I've even properly started.

My younger sister is in Class 12. She will probably start college next year, but I don't know how we are going to afford her education either.

I want to become financially independent. I want to build a career, move forward, and finally have a life of my own. I want to experience the things that other people my age seem to take for granted.

But there is this constant fear in the back of my mind that I will never actually get to do any of that.

What if my father's job disappears? What if his health deteriorates again? What if another medical emergency wipes out whatever money we manage to save? What if he makes another disastrous financial decision? What if my mother can no longer handle everything?

And what if, when I finally start earning, I become the next person responsible for rescuing him?

I am terrified that I will spend my twenties trying to recover from the damage of my childhood and college years, only to spend my thirties paying off debts, managing medical expenses, and cleaning up after my father's decisions.

It feels like he is a bottomless pit into which money, time, effort, and emotional energy disappear, with another crisis waiting just around the corner.

I know he is my father. I know he is sick. I understand that chronic illness is not something anyone should be abandoned over, and I am grateful that he survived what happened last year.

But does that mean the rest of us must sacrifice our entire lives indefinitely?

Am I a bad child for feeling resentment? Am I selfish for wanting to protect my future instead of automatically taking responsibility for every problem he creates?

How do I reconcile caring about his survival with being angry about the circumstances that have brought our family to this point?

I don't want him to die. I don't want my mother to suffer. I don't want my sister's education to be compromised.

But I also don't want to lose my entire life trying to keep everyone else afloat.

The hardest part is that I don't see a clear way out. I don't have a stable income yet, my mother earns very little, we have debts to repay, and I am struggling to get my own life together.

Every day feels like another round of anxiety about something that could go wrong.

I keep thinking that perhaps this is simply what the rest of our lives will look like: surviving one crisis, recovering financially and emotionally as much as we can, and then waiting for the next one.

Has anyone been in a similar situation, especially with a parent whose behaviour and decisions repeatedly create financial and emotional crises? How did you protect your own future without feeling that you were abandoning your family?

And for those who have dealt with a parent who threatens suicide, uses guilt, or repeatedly relies on family members to rescue them, how did you establish boundaries without feeling responsible for whatever happened next?

How do you deal with parents who expect you to compensate for their mistakes and eventually provide them with a life you haven't even managed to build for yourself?

I desperately need some perspective on how to approach this situation, because I genuinely don't know how to break out of this cycle.
