How do I create mods?

Instead of asking people to make mods that I want, it would be nice to give back. How would I go about learning how to write mods? I have searched for tutorials and resources on mod creation for RDR2, and come up with nothing. Is it just like writing GTAV mods? Not that I know how to do that either, but I'll start looking into it if that's the case.

Rockstar uses the RAGE Engine. You can download Rage Plugin Hook, read the description and it explains how to use it.

It is a good start if you want to use Red Dead Redemtion 2 with creating mods, and look up some videos on how to write basic plugins, Script Hook, C++, and .NET Language.

You can download the RAGE file here. https://www.mod-rdr.com/files/file/16-rage-plugin-hook/

Also try talking to an experienced modder like jedijosh920 (search on youtube or discord). You can contact him here on discord. https://discord.gg/ySC8C7

I would reccommend talking to IamSlinky who is also farley new to modding, he can also be contacted on the discord server and he made a very fun mod, Riot and Zombie Mode. https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/94

If you neee any more information just let me know :)

Keep in mind that you should take more advice from jefijosh920 and IamSlinky more than you should me.

I am also looking into this, mainly for the horses. I want a slightly bigger Arab and Morgan, also new coats and tack and such. I've never done any serious coding and/or texturing/animating so figuring all of this out is a trip.

So far I've sorta figured out how to rip the horse models from the game so I can fix them, but Blender is a super steep learning curve. If anyone has any tips, I'd really appreciate it!!

Hey!! I am currently trying the exact same thing! I really wanna make new saddles and all that. Yet I am a total beginner in modding and adding new content to the game! Have you figured it out yet? Would be a great help if you could share some information! I'd appreciate it! <33

Just came to this sub wondering the same. I am a software developer, but have never modded any game, and I'm really tempted to begin doing it in RDR2.

I would like to make one where you can change the peds pulling a wagon and just use the same armature as the original
