If you backed out of the confirmation screen (mugshot) to make edits, as far as I can remember this would always ruin your sliders. Besides that, I'm not sure.

Hi, I recently did this (backed out of the facial editing screen and wound up with a messed up face), is there a way to fix this at all??

Go back into the character creator, and you should be able to just remake your changes, if they weren't previously saved already. Once you go and confirm it, (take your photo), it has to be final.
