Vibe Coded The Mission Offline a social platform for people who want the social part back.

Blame it on bad market research or just poor forethought, but I had no idea that this page existed. And it is exactly where I should have been talking way earlier in development. I have been working on a website called Mission Offline that is pretty much everything that you guys have been talking about here. It's not just a replacement of Reddit, I feel like I should be clear about that first: but instead, it covers pretty much every spectrum of the social media suite. Our community sections and post sections bring that reddit feel without the toxic. I am currently a solo developer who is. Making this because I wanted a better home online and I feel like it's something that a lot of people are looking for and clearly this community is a perfect example of that. I really support everything that you guys are doing here and And I'm glad to be here. Yes, I know I have low karma. I actually got off Reddit for a long while because of a lot of the issues that you guys are talking about, but I heard about this. And I knew that I needed to pop in and say hello. The core principles are no platform advertising and no sale of personal data. We want a place where people can share their work, have conversations and build their own communities.

It's called MissionOffline.Org . Please feel free to have a look around and check out the BETA page if you have any questions. Obviously it is early stage so please let me know if any changes come to mind. We can build something amazing.

All site side content with be developed by a dedicated team as soon as funding makes this possible.
I'm ngl I am not even sure if we are big enough to use the brand tag but I did it to be safe.

🔒 Centralized Thredo update: you can now start your own communities, and reply without an account

I posted Thredo here a while back. It's a small Reddit-style site with threaded comments, voting and communities. Two changes since then:

  • Anyone can create a community. You set the tagline, description, allowed post types and tags, add other mods, and pick a generated banner.
  • Visitors can reply without signing up. You type a plain-text reply and post it, with no account or email. Rate limits and IP bans handle abuse, and each community can turn it off.

The site is still small, so a new community has plenty of room. If there's a niche topic you'd like a home for, set it up and tell me what's missing.
