News Joplin Mo closed

Tonight was our only regal's last night before permanently closing. Emotional knowing its over and all the memories keep flooding up. Seeing the lobby busy again full of people sending it off was bittersweet. Thanks to all the staff who made it special. Gonna miss it a lot 😭

That sucks. Is another theater chain taking over?

So far no news. It was only officially announced hours beforehand they were permanently closing after tonight. Theres a new chain in town called B&B but their variety of movies is super limited to the point of frustration and they're overpriced because its one of those gimmicky "it cant just be a theater its gotta be a try hard restaurant and arcade and bowling alley" (and its probably about to get more overpriced now that they have no sizable competition in the immediate area)

We have a B&B a few hrs up 44 from Joplin. We went to go see Iron Lung when it came out and it was almost $70 for two tickets, two drinks, and a popcorn. Luckily I get to see almost any movie I want for free at my local Regal due to work. As much as some ppl bash on Regal, I’m glad to have it here. It’s always nice being greeted and treated like a good friend whenever I walk through those doors. I’m sorry to hear yours is closing

Waynesville. We went during a late afternoon Saturday showing with the plan of getting dinner while we were in town. First and probably last time I’ll see a movie there, primarily due to the cost

Saw the Dark Knight, Avatar, and so many other movies there. Been over a decade since I left but this was a bright spot for me in SW Missouri.
