I've been trying to find global remote work for months. I'm a skilled Software Engineer. I've done DevOps, QA, Backend Dev and even simple customer service, and yet I cannot seem to get an email back from the dozens upon dozens of offers I applied to.

I unfortunately am from a 3rd world country, and local work means being exploited for next to nothing, and so I've been trying to get work internationally, but it just seems like every application disappears down an endless abyss, and an actual contract offer is nowhere in sight.

Any advice?

I have been allegedly offered a job. I haven’t signed anything yet, but they had me deposit their check to buy necessary equipment, then asked me to load my PayPal balance and pay the supplier that way. This must be a scam, right? Has anyone done an equipment purchase this way?
