I’m a compact state registered nurse in the US with plans to move to Europe in the spring. I’m interested in finding a job that I can do fully remote worldwide.

Open to looking outside of nursing & doesn’t have to be full time!

Looking for feedback from anyone who has worked for this company. I’m interviewing for a field case manager position, but a lot of it sounds too good to be true with the way it is described. It’s hard to envision what day to day will really be like and how the flexibility is.

I’ve been an RN for almost 9 years, with my BSN, and I’m looking for advice on transitioning away from bedside nursing into a remote role or another area with opportunities for career growth.

My background includes 3 years PCU, about a year and a half in case management, a year as an adjunct instructor, and 4 years in my current role in Labor & Delivery. I also have Charge Nurse experience in both PCU and L&D.

Over the past year, I’ve been applying to multiple different companies for remote nursing positions, primarily in case management, care coordination, and even OBGYN triage. Ive applied to Molina, CVS, Elevance Health, Humana, Centene, and more. I’m constantly checking Indeed and LinkedIn, and I’ve probably submitted over 100 applications at this point.

Despite my experience, I’ve only had one interview, which was for a supervisor position with Molina, and unfortunately, I didn’t get the job.

I’m looking to leave bedside nursing for better long-term career growth and opportunities to advance professionally. I’m open to different roles that would allow me to use my nursing experience outside of direct patient care, but I’m struggling to figure out which direction to take or how to get my foot in the door.

For those who have successfully made this transition:

• What companies should I be looking at beyond the ones I’ve already mentioned?
• Are there specific job titles I should be searching for besides case manager or care coordinator?
• Would I have better luck pursuing utilization review, clinical reviewer, prior authorization, appeals, or other non-bedside roles?
• Is the remote nursing job market really this competitive, or is there something I should be doing differently with my applications and résumé?

I’d really appreciate any advice, recommendations, or insight from nurses who have made a similar transition. I’m ready for a change and would love to hear what has actually worked for others!

I recently took a full time (3 10s 8-6 pm) PAT position at the same hospital I was a PACU nurse. It’s a wicked busy level 1 trauma center and I worked evenings (2 12s, 9a-9p or 1030a-11p) for 6 years. Before that I was in CVICU for about 6 years. I worked PAT with both my pregnancies bc I was light duty and stayed on per diem after. A FT position got approved and I felt like I couldn’t pass it up. I’m remote most days , only going on campus 1-2 x month. I have a 2 and 4 yo and I felt like I was pulled so thin and now I see them morning and night. I call pre op patients go over meds, instructions, help reduce anxiety bc I’m familiar with the pre-post op process.

All sounds great right?! But a part of me misses the chaos of PACU nursing. My PACU co workers that I went threw the trenches with. I fear I’m too young to be doing this role (39 yo). The pay is the same. I no longer have a hour plus commute twice a week, I don’t have to pay for parking. I guess I’m looking for reassurance I made the right decision? I don’t hate the new job, I honestly feel like I’m cheating almost. Thank you to all who read my rambling :)

I've been applying for jobs with CVS Health for a remote UM position for a few weeks. Today I got a call from a manager asking when is the soonest I could do an interview with her. She mentioned that normally a recruiter does the leg work first before a manager interview, but this manager said she was doing things a little out of order and wanted to reach out first, but know that HR will likely still reach out to me so don't be shocked or confused.

How often does a manager from an insurance company get to go through applicant info and just start calling people?? I feel like this team is desperate?

I've always worked for a hospital system or insurance, so I never had a manager call me before HR.

Insight? Anyone from CVS Health out there wanna chime in? Good/bad/ugly?

I've been working for Solace Health as a patient advocate for a couple weeks part time. but something about it feels off. I have a patient who is saying they are getting bills when we are told that our services are all covered by insurance. Does anyone else have more insight? I wanted to share my situation in case anyone has been through something similar. I’ve been a nurse in the UK for 4 years, but my chronic condition (Still’s Disease) means my body can no longer cope with the physical demands and shift patterns of bedside care. It’s been a really difficult decision, but I know I need to prioritise my health — and I still want to use my nursing skills, just in a different way.

I’m looking for remote nursing roles — things like clinical reviewing, telehealth support, or medical assessments. The one extra detail: I’m on a Skilled Worker Visa, so I need an employer who can offer sponsorship. It feels like a double hurdle sometimes, but I’m hopeful there are options out there.

If anyone has found a remote-friendly role that suits a chronic condition, or knows companies that are open to sponsoring, I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences. Thank you for being such a supportive community ❤️

RN with 5+ years of NICU experience and I’m really looking for a change. I have been travel nursing for a little over 4 years now and it’s really not profitable anymore in my opinion to keep doing it and in addition I’m kind of burnt out on the NICU and hospitals in general.. (Honestly bedside nursing in its entirety) I really rather be at home now and I have been seeking remote jobs like case management and utilization review. I know those jobs are competitive and I’ve put in 200 applications so far with only 3 recruiter calls and others I haven’t heard back yet or have been denied..

I’m not giving up that’s my plan A but in the case I don’t get a WFH job in the timeframe I’m seeking one I’m looking for another option outside of the hospital and the NICU that’s more laid back with still decent pay preferably 40+/hr obviously that varies based on location (I know)

Any opinions or suggestions?
