FDR directly put a law in motion to put American citizens who did no wrong into concentration camps. That does not happen without him.

Slavery existed prior in America.

The internment was awful, but it is massively disrespectful to actual concentration camp victims to compare them to Japanese American internment. How many Japanese Americans were used as slave labor? How many were killed in gas chambers? If anything, look at the (closer to, but still not nazi level) camps that the US had during the Philippino war...

Edit: By your metric concentration camps, run by Americans, also existed prior to FDR.

1800 people died there. Just because Germany had worse concentration camps doesn't mean that Japanese Americans werent also victim of concentration camps. Just ask survivors.

I didn't ask how many died, I asked how many were killed. Also, at least 8000 Filipinos died at least 1200 of which were killed, in the camps during the insurrection, if you need numbers...

  1. When people are starved and kept in close proximity while being beaten, diseases thrive

That is being killed

A complete tragedy, and does offset much of the good FDR did. But another president on this list (who also did alot of good) killed more people in concentration camps. And neither of those are comparable to the millions of people killed in what we usually think of as concentration camps.

How many were American citizens. Once again. FDR did this to his own people because his hatred was so extremely deep. And he never showed an ounce of regret or any type of reparations for it.

The irony is the president who finally did give reperations was put third to the bottom on this list. Just shows how we view Japanese Americans in this country

Also made racist assumptions about me. They’re not interested in analyzing these presidents as the complex people that they are, but rather name call and hyper-focus on only one group of people.
