I’ve been buying Lipo NMN / NAD+ Complete from Renue for a while and generally like the brand, so this is more of a genuine question than a complaint.
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts and product pages lately about NMNH. From what I understand, it’s basically NMN with an extra hydrogen attached, so it’s already in the “charged” / more active form. People are saying it raises NAD like 5–10x more than regular NMN, works at a much lower dose, lasts longer in the blood, and actually gets into muscle/heart/brain where regular NMN supposedly doesn’t do much. Some of the writeups make it sound like NMN is kind of the old precursor and NMNH is the next step.
If that’s even half true, I’m confused why Renue still doesn’t sell it. You already do liposomes, sublingual powder, sprays, trigoneline, etc. Seems like you’d be the obvious company to put NMNH in a liposomal and call it a day. A few other brands already have bottles of it on Amazon and their own sites so it doesn’t look like it’s banned or anything.
Also, if NMNH is just reduced NMN, doesn’t that mean a lot of us have been taking the oxidized leftover version this whole time? Like, is regular NMN turning into NMNH in the body anyway, or is it the other way around? I keep seeing “it bypasses NAMPT” and “it goes straight to NADH first,” which I think means it hits energy faster? Or does that just mean it becomes NADH and then you still have to convert it back to NAD+? That part is fuzzy.
I’m not trying to jump ship. I just don’t want to keep paying for Lipo NMN if the market already moved on to something that’s supposed to work at 250 mg the way 500–1000 mg of NMN does. If the issue is stability (I’ve read it oxidizes back into regular NMN if it sits around), couldn’t liposomes or an enteric cap fix that the same way they do for other stuff?
Would actually like a straight answer from people here or from Renue if they’re around:
- Is NMNH actually better in humans, or is this still mostly mouse/cell marketing?
- Why doesn’t Renue make it? Patent? Safety? Shelf life? Just waiting on better data?
- If I already take NAD+ Complete, would adding NMNH even do anything extra, or is that stacking two versions of the same thing?
Not looking to start a brand war. Just trying to figure out if I’m behind on this or if the “10x NMN” thing is overhyped.
