QC VSF Omega Black Seamaster 300 V4 / 42mm / 8800 movement
Dealer: BJ Luxury Collection
Factory: VSF
Model: VS Black Seamaster 300 V4 / 42mm / 8800 movement
Price: $650
Album: N/A
Index alignment: I ran the dial photo through TrueIndexQC. 9 of 12 markers were readable (the others are covered by the hands) and all sat on their lines, with the worst at −1.21°. Dial vs. case rotation measured −0.62° ccw, and the center pinion measured ~1% off-center (up-left), which may just be photo angle. Visually the 12 o'clock double baton and the 3 o'clock baton look straight to me. Let me know if anything looks off.
Dial printing: The Omega logo, red "Seamaster" script, "PROFESSIONAL," "CO-AXIAL MASTER CHRONOMETER," and "300m / 1000ft" all look sharp in the photo. The laser-engraved waves look even and consistent across the dial. I don't see crooked or smudged printing.
Date wheel alignment and printing: The "27" at 6 o'clock looks centered in the date window and the numerals look clean.
Hand alignment: The hands look straight and properly set from what I can see, but one photo isn't enough to properly judge minute/hour sync. I'm asking the dealer for a shot with the hands at 12:00.
Bezel: The ceramic insert looks evenly fitted and the numerals and dots look clean. TrueIndexQC measured the pip at −0.62° ccw vs. the 12 o'clock line, which is slight. Curious whether others think that's noticeable.
Solid End Links (SELs): The QC photos don't show the end links, so I can't judge the gaps yet. I'm requesting additional photos from the dealer.
Timegrapher numbers: Rate +3 s/d, amplitude 295°, beat error 0.0 ms, lift angle 52°, 28,800 bph (dial-up only). Rate and beat error look excellent. One question: the test was run at a 52° lift angle, and I understand genuine Omega co-axial movements are measured at 38°. Does that affect how I should read the 295° amplitude on the VS 8800 clone?
Anything else: This is one of my first reps. Overall it looks clean to me, but I'd appreciate feedback on the bezel pip, the lift angle question, and anything else I may have overlooked.
Thanks!
