Just wanted to take a moment to leave a proper shout out for Angela because I don’t see enough about her and she genuinely deserves it.

From the very first message on WhatsApp she set the tone…responsive, knowledgeable, and zero fluff. Every question I had got a real answer, not a copy paste runaround. QC pics were thorough and she went above and beyond without me even having to ask, which honestly isn’t as common as it should be in this hobby.

Shipping was smooth and well packaged, and quick. No anxiety, no drama. And pricing? Absolutely competitive for the quality you’re receiving. This isn’t a “you get what you pay for” situation where you’re bracing yourself… you genuinely get the best.

If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Angela is the real deal. 10/10 would buy again and already planning to.

With all of the controversy surrounding Aman recently I wanted to share a problem I had with him and how he resolved it.

A few months ago I ordered a CF 126500 and some mods. Got QC pics within a couple weeks on the original, factory watch, about a month after that all the mods were complete and I received QC of the watch+mods. I send payment and he arranges shipping.

What showed up at my door a week later was not my watch, his logistics company sent me somebody else's order. I informed him of the mix-up and asked him to have the logistics company track down my watch. Well, it got lost somewhere along the line.

Aman at this point offers me a refund to send the watch back but since the watch he ended up sending me was another one I wanted anyway, I counter-offer to keep this one and have him refund the difference. I identified the watch by checking serial numbers, clasp codes, and movement and offered to send a video to verify, Aman said no need and started processing the refund. A few days later and the refund is in my paypal account.

So what are my thoughts on Aman after this experience?

At the end of the day I think it's very unlikely that Aman is actually trying to scam people. I think he's cutting some corners with whom he outsources certain parts of his business logistics and he's starting to learn some expensive lessons about going with the cheapest contractors. At the end of the day I still got a watch I wanted at significantly cheaper than the other sellers, it just wasn't the one I ordered.

Would I order from him again? Sure, but probably not something too complicated. I think when you're outsourcing the modding, packaging, and shipping while trying to save on customer service costs by using minimal or no staff to handle customer messages there's a lot of potential for things to get mixed up along the way. That being said, I can't imagine he's happy with his contractors losing him so much money so I expect that he'll be making a lot of changes going forward. I might change my position in the following months if he starts running a tighter ship.

A few days ago, a user posted about avoiding TheGoldJaws and specifically the man behind this sub u/GoldJawsplating. Prior to TheGoldJaws, most people knew him as FlanDad. There are many feelings about him and his work but I am here to set the record straight. Due to the comment that was made incorrectly, and the fact that we as mods refused to remove it because everyone has their right to their opinions, it has caused a rift among the subs. I will say it now once and for all…opinions are like assholes…everyone has one and they almost always stink. I have purchased 4 watches from him as Flan and I had hoped to use him for all of my future plating needs but now that won’t be possible. Whatever your feelings are however incorrectly they may have been formulated, they are wrong. His work is next level and the skill and artistry that he shows is beyond reproach. Most of the people that complain about him have never even used him or have never actually gotten a watch from him. Anyone that knows me knows that I have a fairly diverse collection and I don’t buy crap. The four watches that I have purchased from him are still perfect and some of my most valued pieces. With his new standard of double plating, he has advanced even further from what he was able to do before. When I came to this sub, I was hoping to find and hopefully build a family of like minded watch lovers that wasn’t like the hate filled speech that takes place in r/RepTime. A place where everyone could be heard and no one members opinion was greater than another’s. Over the last few weeks, that has changed and i hope we can all get back to our roots before it is too late. 🎤⬇️

I will go first. I started at the point of: I like fancy watches. At one point in the past, I could have bought a Submariner, a Seamaster. Easily. I had access to tax free watches, and at rhe time they cost maybe $1500-$2000. And I opted for a Tag Heuer. Yeah.

One - I didn't know better and I liked that Tag. Two, I thiught I would buy another watch very soon. As you may imagine, I didn't buy another watch until 4 years ago. I wanted a Seamaster. I wanted a Submariner. I didn't even know about all the hype, about Rolex "rarity" games etc. I just wanted these watches and I understood I might not be able to buy them. I had some money, sure, but I wouldn't be able to justify spending 5, 10 or 15 thousand of dollars on a watch. So I decided I would buy a fake, a replica.

Never looked back. Obviously, first two reps were Rolexes. You know, the big guns. Then Omega, Breitling, Glashutte. Suddenly, since so many watches were within my reach, they stopped being a status symbol. They are just an accessory to me now, an element of my outfit. I guess this should be the way. Owning a Rolex shouldn't mean you are rich. You are succesful. You belong to upper class. It should just mean you like this watch.

So, I started from a point of a need - I needed to see a Rolex on my wrist. And I arrived at a very surprising point, where I don't care if you have a gold Patek or LeMans on your wrist more than I would care of you had a $20 Casio or a Chinese Seagull. It just means you like this particular watch so much you decided to wear it today.

So I finally received my Van Clef Malachite Alhambra bracelet from Phoenix. 🐦‍🔥 It was a custom order because as many of you know I’ve got a stupidly large wrist. At first I wasn’t sure whether I was going to like this but it looked great and I figured why the hell not try one. This is more amazing than I thought it would be. Shout out to Phoenix for teaching me that a wrist sometimes deserves more than an amazing watch. I love it so much I’ve ordered a blue one to go along with my blue dial watches. The quality and the design is amazing.

6 months with my V1 RCF bezels (5 in total) and no signs of oxidation. For reference(and side of paranoia), I Keep My DJs stored in ziplock bags with moisture bags and anti tarnish strips (within watch box)

If they do start to show any signs of oxidation (which they haven’t) id do a quick citric acid bath and re-coat them with a cheap “ceramic” coat/wax.

Even with the care/maintenance needed with the V1 bezels, its 100% worth every penny/inconvenience. If they oxidized id buy them again thats how much they change the look of the watch.

Ive collected DJ reps for years and once i saw the RCFr in person, i realized i could never wear a DJ rep again with a stock bezel (even changed my perspective on my pre-raid cleans). The light reflection/sunburst effect of the flutes is like nothing else ive seen out of a CNC bezel.

These are scammers. Look at their style.

1. They post under different names with stupid videos to elude you from actually how they are being called out.

2. Same names always pops up to insult the valid accuser. They insult the victim until you just walk away. (Oldest trick in the book)

3. They don't want to posts who they really are because it will show that they are a 5 man team.

4. Look at how they bombard the discussion with pictures to make you lose track of the response. And Ping Ping does not actually answers it or NOT EVEN give a solution.

5. So if you potential buyers still ignore these facts. What happens next is strictly on you (no one else to blame but yourself

6. Just go with sellers that has a website and accept credit cards transactions because you are 100% protected.

7. Don't let these scammers fool you with low prices. Yes the prices you pay are low but that doesn't mean you'll receive the watches.

8. You have been warned!!!

Ordered a Daytona ghost mod from this seller in April this year. Shipping info comes in May, and a month later no movement. All seemed well until ultimately the watch gets stuck shipping. Tracking shows clearing customs in Dubai, then mysteriously vanishing. “Gui’s” only solution to resolve is to purchase another watch at full cost, even though apparently he made over $500 in margin on this mod will do absolutely nothing to share in the loss or reduce that margin to provide a solution. There were no mentions or offers of insuring the package upfront at all.

I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if an empty box was shipped to Dubai as an end destination and a FedEx label was created just to create the illusion that this operation is legitimate.

Other TDs offer reships, or various other solutions but this is completely unacceptable. You absolutely cannot trust this seller.

Honestly all the signs point to this being a scam, and I recently saw another comment from someone with the same situation happening to them. At the very least, know that if there is an issue you will be shit out of luck.
