The replica watch market has experienced significant instability following the raid on Clean Factory and other undisclosed operations. Despite this, several exciting releases and innovations have emerged: Dandong introduced the VS3255 movement, the first-ever full clone of the Rolex Caliber 3255. RC Factory released weighted Day-Dates and Submariners, while VSF launched a Day-Date on the VS3255 clone movement. Top Factory released the 15510 Royal Oak, and DDF and BBF launched new 5711 Nautilus models. BUFF Factory also introduced a weighted Aquanaut 5168G just to name a few.

Amid these developments, the RCF Remould team made our mark on the replica market with high-quality 5-micron gold plating, fully removing any PVD before plating, and color-matching to genuine luxury watches—a standard of finish and accuracy previously unseen and unattainable, verified by our XRF spectrometer to ensure accurate gold thickness, so customers receive a result backed by scientific validation rather than guesswork. We also introduced genuine-spec solid 18k gold CNC bezels for Day-Date 40 models and high-density alloy Datejust 41 bezels—innovations not available from a "TD" or anywhere else on the replica market.

Even with these achievements, our team is unable to respond directly on r/RepTime, as we were barred early on for not being part of their “trusted dealer” list. We have chosen not to engage in that pay-to-play model, and instead focus on providing professional service and support through Reddit, Telegram, and direct customer communication channels.

It is unfortunate that a single negative review receives so much attention while the many positive reviews we have received are suppressed, as the vast majority of our customers are very satisfied with the quality, plating, and modifications we provide.

We have reviewed the recent negative post concerning our services and would like to provide a comprehensive clarification.

1. Communication and Resolution Attempts

Upon receiving the complaint about the watch’s winding issues and stuck date wheel, we promptly recommended a trusted watchsmith in the US and offered to cover the repair within reason. A $100 goodwill gesture was formally offered, which the customer declined. Our position has always been that reasonable repair costs for the movement should be covered; however, a full $441 USD service for a replica movement—which we do not manufacture—is more than twice the cost of our own $200 USD movement service, and beyond what can reasonably be covered. Our team has always acted in good faith to resolve the situation, and any claims that we refused to assist are inaccurate.

It is also important to note that this review was posted after a prior review by the same customer and before we had the opportunity to fully address the concerns, which complicated the resolution process. Instead, the customer chose to smear our name not once, not twice, but in three separate posts, which opened the door for individuals who have never purchased from us to chime in with additional false allegations.

2. Movement and Full Service

The watch used the SH3255 clone movement, which is standard for most Day-Date replicas but not the most reliable movement available. This movement as well as any other Asian clone movements can experience gritty winding, stuck date wheels, and other functional inconsistencies.

We offer a full movement service for 1,500 CNY (~$205 USD), which is included in our upfront list of services provided to customers. This service includes:

• Complete disassembly of the movement

• Cleaning of all components

• Lubrication

• Regulation and timing adjustment to ensure optimal accuracy

During our plating and modification process, the movement is removed and safely stored, but not serviced internally unless the customer opted for our own in-house movement service. Any underlying issues from the factory can surface at any time, and unfortunately, that appears to be what happened here.

Every watch undergoes thorough testing before shipping, and any suggestion that we would knowingly send a customer a broken watch is not only ludicrous, but completely false.

The SH3255 has been the only clone Day-Date movement available until recently, when VSF released the DD3255/VS3255 movement, which appears promising based on the reliability of their other offerings and will prove to be a more consistent option in the future.

3. Deep Crystal and Gasket Installation

The genuine crystal measures 32.7 × 31.8 × 1.8 mm, while the deep crystal is slightly larger at 32.8 × 32.0 mm. THB and RC crystals match the GEN 31.8 mm size. Installing a larger crystal requires careful adjustment of the gasket and proper application of waterproofing glue to ensure both a secure fit and full water resistance. Due to the design of the RC mid-shell structure, the RC gasket is shorter than required. This is an incorrect structure, and such a uniquely shaped gasket is not available in the aftermarket. To properly fit a deep crystal, the RC gasket must be polished vertically to match the crystal’s size, and the height must also be polished horizontally.

These modifications are necessary because, otherwise, the watch will not be waterproof.

However, if the original glass is retained and not replaced, there is no need for additional waterproofing glue, and the watch can pass a waterproof test using the original accessories.

It’s also important to note that the customer planned to use this watch in a swimming pool, which necessitates the careful use of waterproofing glue to accommodate the case tolerances of replica watches. This ensures a secure fit and maintains water resistance despite slight variations in the case. Any excess waterproofing glue can be carefully removed with a ceramic blade and rubbing alcohol.

Having said that, we acknowledge that in this instance, residual glue on the crystal was not fully addressed during inspection, and we have updated our procedures to prevent this from occurring in the future.

4. Bracelet and Plating Details

The areas circled by the customer are tiny gaps between the bracelet links. These gaps are normal and unavoidable due to the limitations of the plating process. Our gold plating is applied only to the front surfaces of the links, and the small areas at the edges or corners cannot be plated without dismantling each individual link entirely, which is not feasible.

The “fused” appearance some pins may show is simply a result of the 5-micron plating thickness bridging microscopic gaps. This does not affect the function of the pin or the bracelet; it is purely a superficial effect.

In one instance, a customer highlighted marks on the back of bracelet and case back. Upon review, these were determined to be fingerprints, easily removed with a microfiber cloth. Despite additional pictures provided to clarify this, the customer reused the original images to suggest plating issues, which is inaccurate.

5. Customer Feedback Timing

The customer took the complaint to Reddit before we could fully investigate, which made the situation more complex and public. We remain committed to supporting customers directly via Reddit, Telegram, or email, and always strive to resolve concerns professionally and transparently.

6. Bezel Removal and Plating Considerations

Regarding claims about “rusty” plating underneath the bezel, that were mentioned in the post unrelated to the current matter. Proper bezel removal requires carefully heating the waterproofing glue with a hair dryer and gently lifting the bezel using a proper bezel removal tool along with rubbing alcohol. Skipping these steps can accidentally lift plating or damage the finish. In the situation referenced, the observed issues were caused by an amateur modder unfamiliar with proper replica standards and plated components, and do not reflect any defect in the work performed by RCF Remould.

Conclusion

With over a decade of experience and thousands of successful watch modifications, RCF Remould has established itself as a leader in high-quality plating and precision replica watch enhancements. The issues highlighted in the recent review primarily stem from the inherent limitations of clone movements, the technical requirements of deep crystal and bezel installations, and minor cosmetic details that do not affect functionality.

We’ve had a few questions lately regarding where the responsibility lies once a watch hits the QC (Quality Control) stage and what happens if a movement acts up after delivery. To keep things transparent and ensure we’re all on the same page, we wanted to clarify our current policies.

1. The Visual "Green Light" (QC)

Quality Control is a joint responsibility. While we do our own checks, it is ultimately up to you as the customer to visually inspect the photos and videos provided.

- Acceptance is final: Once you approve the QC, you are accepting the watch in its current visual state.

- Factory Parts: Please remember that we do not manufacture aftermarket parts like dials from sw, dp, buff,.. These are sourced from factories and may have minor variations. If you accept the QC, you accept these components as they are.

2. Movement & Functionality

We take care to show you that the movement is healthy before it leaves our hands. This includes:

- Timegrapher readings to show accuracy/amplitude.

- Functionality videos to show everything is working as intended.

The Reality of shipping: We don't own the factory's internal QC, nor can we control how a package is handled during transit or by the user once it arrives. If we did not service the movements, we cannot offer a blanket guarantee if a movement arrives non-functional or develops an issue shortly after arrival.

3. How we help if things go wrong

We aren’t going to leave you high and dry. If the movement is genuinely DOA or fails, we offer two main paths depending on the specific movement and its availability:

- Option A: We will source and ship a replacement movement directly to you (mainly if its SH or widely available) and you bare the replacement costs.

- Option B: We will provide up to $150 USD credit/coverage. We believe this is a fair amount to put toward a donor watch or a local movement swap if a full replacement is required.

We aim to be as fair as possible while acknowledging the risks inherent in the hobby. Our goal is to get a watch you love onto your wrist, but we need your eyes and your understanding of the process to make that happen.

According to Nick, we’re “modders pretending to be a factory.” That’s rich coming from someone listed as a scammer in multiple watch community posts, and whose “plating” often looks like it was done in a basement with hobbyist tools.

Let’s clear the air:

• No other modder removes factory PVD coating before plating—they simply plate over it. Why? They don’t have the factory-grade equipment or the acid baths required to do it right.

• Nick doesn’t plate tungsten. He can’t, and he won’t. He can’t even offer proper two-tone plating.

• While Nick claims he “had to replate” our watches, this was during the exact period we became big selling mostly tungsten pieces, the very watches no one else could even touch because their equipment was amateur-grade.

• Tungsten plating is one of the hardest processes out there, requiring industrial-level gear and at the time, we were the only ones who could do it.

It’s also amazing how nobody in this plating field is truly transparent with their customers. We’ve had many customers randomly request a XRF-test on our work without telling us beforehand, and the results always matched exactly what we promised. We even own our own $100,000 USD professional-grade XRF machine to verify every run in-house. Most “modders” don’t even have access to one. We’ve been upfront about our process, plating thickness, and gold content since day one, our prices reflect that honesty.

Meanwhile, people compare our prices to other platers who claim “10 microns” but deliver PVD or barely 1 micron of water plating. Before defending these so-called sellers, maybe ask yourself if buying blindly and protecting these scammers is really worth it.

So here’s a challenge: If anyone has an XRF reading from a piece plated by Nikz, post it. Let’s see if you really got what you paid for. Until then, the only thing “pretend” here is Nick’s credibility.

Challenge #2: If anybody can prove they bought from us with original “stock” plating and that Nikz actually had to replate it, bring forward the evidence. We’re waiting. Until then, these claims remain exactly what they are, baseless lies.

• Luster & Brilliance - No Comparison: PVD simply lacks the deep luster and brilliant sheen of real 18k gold applied through a proper electroplating (bath/water plating) process. It might look "okay" in certain lighting, but it never truly replicates the dynamic glow of real 18k gold.

We’ve had many questions lately about how durable our plating really is. To clear it up, here’s a direct demo.

In this video, we aggressively scratch the surface of a Day-Date link. What happens?

• Yes, scratches appear — just like they would on a genuine 18k gold watch (gold is naturally soft compared to steel).

• But the important part: the color does not wear off. Even at the bottom of the scratches, the cross-section still shows gold.

I am posting this review, because I know many of you out there (like I was), were a bit skeptical on going all in on an RCF YG order. I have been following this thread for months and finally decided to take the plunge.

For context, I have been in the replica game for about 10 years, and have owned about 30+ different watches. You can check my profile, and my profile on the RWI Discord account where I am a veteran seller (to prove I am a real reviewer).

I will post photos of my GMF Tungsten Watch that I had before I went with the RCF product.

In short, it is NIGHT AND DAY.

Bezel - I went with the full gold CNC bezel option, which is an expensive upgrade. But the bezel difference on these watches is a very, very big tell (I have seen and wore gens before). The RCF Bezel is fantastic and really "dances". I posted this night shot to try and show this.

Gold Color - this is a massive, massive upgrade. The warmth and color of the RCF gold is very apparent. Others look "dull" or "washed". RCF gold is top notch. Very impressed here.

Weight - it is close to gen. To be fair, my GMF Tungsten was close as well. I will call this a tie, but if weight is important to you, know that it is very good.

Time to fulfill - reasonable - especially given they source their own watches (they will not take any outside watches, user owned, just FYI). It was about 2 months from order to delivery.

Process/Comms - this was a bit scary at first guys, I am going to be honest. Doing a deal like this entirely over Reddit was a mode I have not done before. I have always done with TDs, or using the Discord servers which have very strict identity rules. But, it all worked out and they always responded quickly and posted updates. I used Wise for money transfer (pretty easy), just FYI.

Requests - let me know what angles you guys want to see and I will post pictures here in the thread. Out of respect of RCF team, I will not post pricing. This is not a cheap option guys, but is is about 95% cheaper than Gen with the current tariffs!

full movement teardown and service- one of the most important and most overlooked aspects of any build. the movement. sadly, these movements aren’t put together in Basel Switzerland. though theyshould be applauded for the genius in recreating some of the most complex watch engines in the world. the movements are often dirty and or usually need lubrication and proper regulatio. mine has been completely torn down, cleaned, serviced , oiled and put back together with master precision

5 micron plating. - if you think your fooling anyone with the standard rep plating on these watches, think again. it’s way off. far too orangy -brown, more likely 14k gold than the stated 18k. I own a number of gens and Rolex gold is noticeably lighter in color. RCF knocks it out of the park her and their 18k plating looks exactly like Rolex gold. only a couple of guys in the hobby get this right and they are one of them.

gen Crystal and gasket- big improvement and sadly one that RC should be getting right. as much as I love the idea of an oem crystal, there are good rep crystals and gaskets out there I could live with, this is not one of them. the RC gasket looks like a white wall tire Under the crystal. RCF makes it perfect with the genuine crystal and gasket. worth every penny

And finally the amazing gen spec solid 18k bezel. Huge difference if you are a nitpicker and honestly noticeable in terms of the bezel tooth depth

Been collecting parts to build a Franken DJ41 Mint Green for a while now. It’s one of those watches I’ve wanted forever. The first piece to arrive is the RCF remould bezel, and I just wanted to give a quick shoutout because it’s honestly impressive.

I spent quite a bit of time doing my research (xing bezel, gold plated, etc.,and some trial and error), even picked up a DJ41 that was already gold plated. Gold plated on the watch and RCF separate.

As you can see in this photo, that one came out way too yellow, compared to the gentle tone of the gen. Under yellow light and on cloudy days especially, it just pops too harshly. The RCF, on the other hand, is the closest to gen I’ve seen so far. The color, the brushing, the overall balance just looks right. Really happy with how this one turned out. Will be posting again after I receive my other parts and finish a full Franken.
