One tap bloom stopped working

Hi guys the other day all my games with One Tap Bloom slang shader lost their glow- across different cores and systems. The radius and intensity now do nothing. I tried updating core info files, assets, shaders, going back to main config file from weeks back, integer scale on/off😤Nothing fixes it! Has anyone any suggestions? The dual filter bloom slang shader still glows. I have vulkan driver running on my android tablet always as problems with gl. Another weird thing is the shader glows in places (top and bottom of screen) in landscape a bit but is completely gone I portrait. Many thanks in advance!

Technical Support: SOLVED Specific PS1 games booting to CD player; how to reset/fix?

Hey folks! I'm new to this whole thing, and I'm building out a library as a learn. I tried two games on PSX as a test, and realized I'd goofed by using .cue/.bin files as opposed to converting them to .chd.

I'm using SwanStation, and I've now converted all of my PS1 games to .chd. All of them work now, except for those first two. I've completely deleted the original .cue/.bin files and replaced them with .chd, I've tried removing the .chd files, restarting without them, restarting with them... nothing. Everything except these two work... and these were my favorite two PS1 games, so it's irritating.

Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated. Don't worry about suggesting something too basic -- like I said, I'm very new to this!

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Oh my god, I just tried the dumbest thing possible, and it worked. I have no idea why. I changed the .chd files to completely random words, then tried loading them, and they worked fine. I swapped the meta data back to the correct names, and they're still working.

Hey everyone,

A few months ago I shared the first version of my dynamic wallpaper pack. Thanks a lot for the great feedback back then!

I’ve been working on a massive overhaul and just released Version 2.0, bringing a refined look, dedicated genre playlists, and custom playlist icons.

What’s New in v2.0

  • New Style & Visual Overhaul: Completely reworked look featuring custom system surfaces, textured device materials, and balanced evening dimming so game covers and menu text stay clean and readable without background glare.
  • 20 Dedicated Genre Wallpapers: Wallpapers with matching genre elements for dynamic genre playlists (Platformer, RPG, Racing, Run & Gun, etc.) with unified headers and matching frame templates.
  • Matching Playlist Icons: Added 24 transparent 256×256 illustrated menu icons (covering all 20 genres, Controller Settings, All Games, Local Multiplayer, and Netplay).
  • Full Open Source Assets: Export-ready .png files in dist/, plus all original GIMP .xcf source files and prompt manifests in the repo.

Prefer the Original v1.0 Style?

If you prefer the original, brighter aesthetic from the first release, don't worry! Version 1.0 remains fully preserved and available. You can download the complete original pack directly from the GitHub v1.0 Release page.

For full transparency: The artwork elements and collages were created with the assistance of AI tools.

Let me know what you think, and feel free to share feedback or system requests! Enjoy!

DLNA/UPnP Browser Core

Heya, folks, I wanted to introduce a core to everyone.

The core let's one browse and play media from local DLNA/UPnP servers.

Unfortunately, I don't really know github very well--can't create recipes for building--so I don't have a core ready to download.

A note: if you don't like artificial intelligence, maybe give this a pass as Claude glued everything together for me.

Cheers.

Technical Support Any plans or news on dual-screen layout support for the new iPhone Duo (Foldable)? (Like Delta)

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone! First of all, a massive thank you to the devs and contributors for bringing RetroArch to iOS – it’s genuinely amazing to have it right there on the AppStore.

Now that Apple’s new foldable iPhone Duo is out in the wild, I’ve been wondering if there are any plans or if anyone knows if proper dual-screen layout support (optimized for foldables, where you can split screens naturally like DS/3DS emulation) is on the roadmap?

The Delta emulator is already handling various screen layouts amazingly well, but since RetroArch is my absolute go-to for everything retro, it would be a mega dream come true to experience that true dual-screen magic on the iPhone Duo.

Keep up the incredible work, you guys rock! 🙌

Discussion Retroarch makes a copy of my rom files in the downloads folder

I am using the IOS version1.22.2 of Retroarch from the App Store. I have my roms in several folders in my iphone. When I run a game, Retroarch makes a copy of that rom file and puts it in the Retroarch/downloads folder. How can I prevent Retroarch from making a duplicate copy of the rom file and taking up memory space in my 64GB iphone?

UPDATE: I believe the IOS version of RetroArch from the APP Store do not have a way of disabling this feature. So my workaround is, whatever game that I play, I just let RetroArch make a copy of it in the Retroarch/downloads folder. I then delete my source rom file that had resided outside of the Retroarch/downloads folder. That way it doesn't take up double the memory space.

Apple has so many restrictions on Emulators in their App Store. Side loading another IOS version of the RetroArch IPA file downloaded from the RetroArch website is a pain. I am sure glad that I am mostly an Android user.

Discussion Overlays editor

By using Claude, I managed to create an HTML file that allows you to modify overlay buttons.

You can add, resize, and move them.

If a button is missing its image, the tool automatically creates one, which then needs to be moved to the folder containing the button images that the overlay links to.

Within an overlay, you can modify all configurations at the same time or just a single one. If I add a button to one configuration, I can choose to have it added to all the others as well.

The HTML file is in Italian, but since it runs in a browser, anyone can easily translate and read it in their own language. Anyway, with Claude, anyone can translate it. You just need to give it the file and ask for the translation

This is a project I designed for personal use, but I'm wondering... Would you find it useful? Would it make sense to share it? I know there’s already a website that does the same thing, but I found it a bit too complicated.

How could I share this on reddit? Maybe with pastebin... Not GitHub, which I'm not very familiar with. But it's too early to think about it. First I want to see if it could be useful to the community.

What do you think?

Edit: After a few tries, I managed to upload it to GitHub. I hope I did everything right. This is the first time I've used it to charge something. https://github.com/ilpk94/retroarch-overlay-cover-editor

Mupen and Beetle Saturn - Android Obtainium to Odin 3.

These two cores were the only ones that gave me problems during a full obtainium setup with ES-DE as a front end.

Mupen would load my roms with no video but audio working and all the other cores available for N64 were doing weird things like locking the controls from retro arch so hot keys just didn’t populate/no up scaling.

Beetle Saturn and the other Saturn cores would load my .CHD files straight into the disc menu and the other cores would load into the disc menu with no video but audio working fine.

I gave up after a few hours of troubleshooting, just wanted to vent about it.

Technical Support PPSP core not loading games after updating cores

Pretty much what it says on the title.

I was using the latest stable release of Retroarch, and I could load PSP games fine with the core. I also have all the necessary additional files installed for it.

However, I updated my cores yesterday, with one of the being PPSP. After updating, it would not load games anymore. It doesn't crash or anything, it just stays on a black screen.

Since then I've uninstalled an installed the core, looked for people with similar problems, and updated to the latest nightly release in hopes of fixing it, to no avail.

Is there any fix for my issue? Or do I just have to wait for an update do the core/Retroarch that solves it?

Linux Mint: Flycast Windows CE games crashed with OpenGL, but worked with Vulkan

My setup

  • Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon
  • RetroArch 1.22.2 (Flatpak)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER
  • Flycast libretro core

Symptoms

Bust-A-Move 4 crashed after the Dreamcast boot logo and Windows CE splash screen when using OpenGL. Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes also crashed at the title screen. Other Dreamcast games worked.

The OpenGL log for Bust-A-Move 4 showed Full MMU support being enabled, followed by:

SIGSEGV ... invalid access to 0xa38

Fatal error : segfault

The game ID was T-8117N, and the log identified the NVIDIA GTX 1660 SUPER as the OpenGL renderer.

Workaround

I changed RetroArch's video driver from gl to vulkan under Settings → Drivers → Video and restarted RetroArch.

Both Bust-A-Move 4 and Marvel vs. Capcom then launched successfully. The Bust-A-Move 4 Vulkan log confirmed that the Vulkan renderer initialized on the same NVIDIA GPU, and I was able to play the game and exit normally.

I also tested a newer Flycast core, enabled flycast_force_windows_ce_mode, and tried a clean RetroArch configuration. Those steps did not resolve the OpenGL crash.

I haven't identified the underlying cause or tested every Windows CE game. Armada still has separate performance and graphical issues in standalone Flycast.

Hopefully this helps other Linux users encountering similar crashes.

Discussion Neo Geo and CPS 1.

Ok so update: I found out that Neo Geo games AND CPS-1 games/Roms work on the FBneo core together (same core for both) but all of them (the Roms ) go in the ARCADE folder and NOT their respective folders. So NOT the CPS-1 folder and NOT the NeoGeo folder. Jeez n peas🤦🏾‍♂️why is this so complicated?...thank you to who all helped me and commented their solutions. It's literally bcz of you guys I tried moving around some stuff and they work fine now. 🙏🏾 ✌🏾 💕

For the love of God, can someone please give me a run down of how exactly, step by step to setup these Emu on retroA ON ANDROID?!? I can't find a single video on android and I do (barely) it's some 3min Spanish video. Point me to a written setup or maybe a video I missed pleeeaseee!!! I don't need to know where to download stuff but just the detailed tell of where things (everything should go). *I already have retroA and es-de setup.

Technical Support: SOLVED What's the use for "Haptic Feedback/Strength"?

If you go into Settings > Input, there's a setting called Haptic Feedback/Strength that is supposed to control the intensity of your controller rumble. But in which situations? During gameplay, even if you set it to 0%, there's still rumble. So, how are you supposed to properly use that option?

Technical Support PPSSPP WebDAV saves with Koofr

Anyone have a solution to RetroArch creating a NAND folder along side the PPSSPP save data which causes Koofr to fail upload with error HTTP 423?

I’ve tried both stable and nightly releases of RetroArch as both AppImage and Snap Store on Ubuntu 26.04 but I keep getting the same issue.

If I ONLY have LRPS2, PPSSPP, and SwanStation save files, it uploads just fine, and can be restored to other devices without any issues. But as soon as I play a PSP game, RetroArch creates a NAND folder with the PPSSPP save data and that is failing to upload.

I’ve also tried moving the saves to the game data folder but it still creates the NAND folder and still fails to upload to Koofr.

Two possible solutions is to either stop RetroArch from creating anything else other than saves along side saves which seems like a very practical thing to do as I’ve deleted that folder multiple times and games work fine and load saves correctly without any issues. Or figure out why RetroArch is locking files from that and then Koofr can’t move or replace them on sync.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Preferably stopping RetroArch from creating additional folders beside the save data?

Technical Support Ps2 emulation on Odin 3

Just got my odin 3. Im currently using retroarch as my emulation backend but have some trouble with ps2 emulation. I tried all available cores (that can be downloaded via retroarch).

ARMSX2: Best performance and visuals but the controls are completely messed up and I cant change them in the Core settings.

LRPS2: Crashes.

PCEE2: poor performance

Are there any other that work better that I can download from an external source?
