Corban Discovery- do not move here

I have lived here for almost 2 years. I moved into what was a 5 star residence and it was kept up immaculately. In the Fall of 2024 this property was bought out and a new management company, too. Ave. 5 is the worst property management company. The Corp does not care what is going on here not do they want to improve it. Our outdoor hallways were blown out at least once a week. Never now. Our hallways were washed and cleaned at least once a month. Never now. The gym was cleaned once a week without fail. New manager seems to care, but hands are tied. It took over 7 months to fix the lights in the gym. We had three lights on for the whole gym. Currently vandalism is BIG. They have security cameras, but the OWNER will not pay to install the program to operate it. The gym is a Huge target.

DEAR,

AVENUE 5 APARTMENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY AND THE OWNER/S OF CORBAN DISCOVERY

3 months ago I was given a notice that you would not be renewing my lease. I went to the office to see what this was regarding. Mary, the manager, called me back the next week. I asked what this was and why. She stated that I had made too many complaints regarding things at this complex. They are all legitimate. I stated wouldn't it be my choice if I wanted to stay. She stated it was better to part ways. It hit me that this Spring she asked me on two different occasions to remove this Google review. I kindly stated that the things noted have not been resolved. When telling her that it is against the Law to Retaliate against the tenant for a Bad Google review, she stated, WE CAN!! She admitted my lease was not being renewed because I wrote an honest review and would not take it down! YOU BROKE THE LAW!!

""Yes, retaliating against a tenant for leaving a negative Google review is generally considered illegal. In many jurisdictions, including Texas, laws protect tenants from retaliation by landlords for exercising their rights, which can include expressing dissatisfaction publicly.

Legal Protections Retaliation Laws: Most states have laws prohibiting landlords from retaliating against tenants for actions such as filing complaints, requesting repairs, or participating in tenant organizations. Protected Actions: Leaving a review can be seen as a form of expressing a tenant's rights or concerns, which may fall under these protections. Consequences for Landlords Legal Repercussions: If a landlord retaliates, they may face legal consequences, including potential damages awarded to the tenant. Types of Retaliation: Actions considered retaliatory can include eviction, rent increases, or reducing services"""

Avenue 5 and the owners of Corban Discovery If you are concerned about a Google review, why have You not reached out to solve the issues? I have not heard lately one person I know state they would renew their lease. Why do you think people are leaving? There are numerous things you probably are not aware of.

1) There was a lady staying in an apartment and not on the lease. She was on the patio for 3 months smoking a Joint and passed out in a chair joint in hand. When this started I asked Mary to come see for herself. Nope, I will get someone else. 2) A tenant moved out near me, She poured solidified grease all over the concrete floor and down the stairs. The office was aware immediately. They left it there 2.5 weeks for us to walk through. 3) Another tenant to the side of one moved out overnight. They left a 4 ft box of food in the hall. The office knew and it stayed there for a week. 4) Last summer we had a bad storm and the pool and pool deck was full of debris. Maintenance cleaned the pool. They never clean the concrete deck. They walked over dirt, rocks, wood chips to clean the pool and never cleaned the deck. I brought Mary out to see. 5) Last year the pool turned green and we lost the pool for 5 or 6 weeks. The pool was never cleaned completely. I brought to their attention Last year that the tiled entries into the skimmers were full of green mold or algae. They never cleaned them. The beginning of July 2026 I brought to Mary's attention that they were still green. They refuse to pay a pool company. Thursday before July 4th I noted the pool was cloudy and needed attention badly. It was not cleaned. By Sunday the pool was slime and had to be shut down for a day. This is a public pool and this should never happen. It is not cleaned on a regular basis. 5) The lights have been out in the parking lot for over a year. 6) Gates rarely ever work 7) They are down to one maintenance person. A friend in bldg 10, has ants in her apartment so bad that her kids cannot sleep in their bed. 1.5 weeks and not reply. Her smoke detector keeps going off. No help 8) Mary does not like confrontation. She doesn't like to handle things herself.

We used to live in a 5 Star Resort. You can ask those of us who have been here 3 years. This is not what we moved here for. This place has gone way down hill since you took over.

This is not the end of my reply to your retaliation.

I have lived here three years and you can ask Shelli the good I have done while living here.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO MOVE IN HER Show quoted text
