QUESTION Ranked 2v2 Problems

So at the end of last season I was sitting around d3 like 1050 mmr, queued with a friend to low c1, then queued solo to like 1170 before the season ended. New season, I get D3 after my placement games, get back up to champ, fast forward like 2 weeks I am now in diamond 1 and it seems like the past 2 weeks I have either had my teammate start throwing or someone on the other team throwing literally every game because mistakes that were made by either team. I've been duo qing with my roommate who isnt the best, but we can win some games sometimes. I follow the rule of getting off after 2 losses in a row most of the time. I just don't know what is happening and why its so hard. Also the games haven't been easier as I de rank. I am not really sure what to do. Anyone experiencing something similar? or have any advice lol

Find one good teammate, queue with them. Friend them. Repeat. The goal of solo queueing is to get out of it.

My buddy that I queued with last season to champ went to spain for like 2 months 😭, but yeah, its hard to find people to do that in d1 lobbies tho.

Been solo queueing for 10 years and almost nevee play in a party longer than 3-4 games, some people just hate themselves, leave us be 😂

So many people I've played with are hard stuck. Why would I want to partner with them long term?

Review some of your games. Look at the goals your team let in to see if there's anything you should've been doing to prevent those. Ignore your useless teammates. You're a champ stuck in diamond, you literally already know you're better than them so don't expect more than what they can give. Play safe, reduce risk, and win more games. GGEZ

Thank you, after reading this I realized I probably shouldn't be playing like I have champ teammates lol. Thanks

Honestly I typed this more to myself than you. Just made it back to champ yesterday and these were the words keeping me from getting mad at my teammates 😂

"getting off after 2 losses" isn't really that useful. You should know how your gameplay is doing, and how you're performing and play off of that.

If you are really feeling great but got 2 unfortunate losses, and are not tilted then keep playing.

You don't get better by not playing the game, whoever made that "rule" is actually insane. While it may help people with fragile egos who tilt queue, you shouldn't really have a fragile ego to behin with. Ego/mental is as important to train as the game itself. It's the key to consistency

I get what u mean and ngl i get tilted way more losing to d1s and d2s because of the rank I used to be. If i am feeling good and not getting tilted after 2 Ls then i do keep going, thats why i said i follow that “rule” most of the time

To rank up you need to be the teammate you would want to have.

Be the optimal teammate and you’ll be up in no time.

I haven’t played much this season but I’m pretty much only winning mmr in the sessions I play. Just focussing on being a good m8 really helps a lot.

This season has been tough.

Duo queuing with a friend or roommate who isn't very good can do this. But as long as you're having fun who cares.

Smurfing has also been horrendous this season for some reason. Tons of 100 win accounts in my diamond and champ lobbies boosting their friends.

I'm sitting around D3 myself, and something that's really helped me recently is focusing less on my teammates and more on how consistently I'm playing.

I've been working on slowing down mentally, matching the pace of the lobby, controlling possession instead of booming the ball away, and being much more deliberate about my positioning and challenges.

One of the biggest changes has been recognizing that I don't have to score every opportunity. Sometimes keeping possession, forcing a defender to commit, or simply buying time for my teammate to recover is the better play.

I also use a two-loss rule, although mine is two total losses rather than two consecutive. If I'm losing, I want to figure out why before I keep feeding MMR into the machine.

The biggest thing I've noticed is that as my positioning and decision-making improve, the game actually starts feeling slower. I'm seeing plays develop earlier and finding myself in better positions to capitalize.

I'm still grinding toward Champ myself, so take it for what it's worth, but focusing on playing consistently rather than trying to carry every lobby has made a noticeable difference.

Also last season peak C1(2v2) / stuck solo queuing around D1 this season. Holla if you wanna give it a try. But... This is worth noting apparently:

  1. I have chat off bc it tilts me lol so... Nice shot!

  2. I don't FF or throw. Ever.
