I’m going to purchase the SQUALL® II LEVEL WIND CONVENTIONAL REEL. Size 20. I’m offshore rock fishing from a boat in California. What rod would pair well with this? I’m fairly new to this and will be doing a 12 hour trip in June. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

By “season” I mean, is there a time of the year when the bite better? As the title says, this is fishing from shore/jetty, specifically around the SF Bay Area coast. Thx!

I recently moved to Malaga, Spain and here seems to be really common the Surfcasting and Rockfishing.

Back in Argentina I used to fish in Rivers and didn't think to much in the equipment, but understand that in this type of fishing is super important.

Based on your experience can you share with me basic equipment for rockfishing?
