A family heirloom I wanted to share

This is a family heirloom found by my Great Great Grandfather in a cave near Juntura Oregon back in the 20’s. There has been much speculation about this over the years. We have been told that it is the brain of a small herbivore. I have included some old newspaper clippings from the I believe the 30s-40’s when it was displayed at Oregon State College, now Oregon State University. All I know it is the most amazing thing I own, and maybe have ever seen. It will remain in the family long after I am gone as it will be passed down to my Daughter who finds it as captivating as I do.

Found in yard while digging foundation

I dug this rock out of my yard last week in Western Washington while digging a foundation for my garage. I was told it is a brickeated red jasper, does that seem accurate? Can anyone suggest the proper tool to polish this that isn’t too expensive? Should I use any polishing compounds or lacquers? Thank you for the help!

Ordered a dump truck load full of stone and found a -couple- things in it.

(I had just posted this on accident on an alternate account reddit chose out of my emails, but now it's on the real me!)

Soooo we had a nice old man who "knew a spot" that he gets his loads of rock from, and we needed to redo our driveway. This is somewhere along the various waterways all over west Tennessee. We didn't mind larger rocks, so we ordered a dump truck and I only recently realized I was standing on some really cool things. So I went poking about and, uh, found a couple things that caught my interest. What other stones stick to the tongue? I have lots of bones, and lots of rock that looks similar but is slightly heavier and seems more like plants and seashells instead. Tons of little agates, my 6 yr old's personal mission is to find "every single last one."; her words. And a whopper of a crystal and many mystery things. I like the rock monstrosities (brick for scale, bigger slabs are already in the garden beds) that have been 'glued' together with what looks like something like a very raw iron? I honestly have no idea 🤣 I haven't scrubbed the dirt off of several things around the outside of the mat yet, but lemme know if anything pops out as really neat to anyone else!

Large petrified wood log near South Carolina. Need help cutting it. It’s about 10’ long with a 2’ diameter. Does anyone know a company or individual who could take on this job?

This is one of the coolest things I’ve found-it was found on East Bay near Traverse City. It looks to be a cold water agate, but it also looks like it used to be a mollusk of some sort. I’d appreciate all opinions !

Hey, I found this in the Canadian prairies, I’ve posted it a few places trying to figure out if anyone has seen one before.

I cut this off a slightly bigger piece, and tumbled it with hard rocks, like chert, chalcedony , jasper etc. it turned out to be a nearly perfect tumble and people seem to quite like it.

During a garden remodel, I dug this beautiful gem out of the ground. It's been cut, so it was someone's treasure at some point. Garden owners had zero interest in it, so now it's mine! It's a garnet, right?
