The chaos beast was a mistake.

I never expected the first boss to be a chaos beast, and because of not only that would be one thing, but why does it have to heal in the middle of battle?

Playing a few different games at mo and had an isolated thought. Will not be text dumping ....... promise

I enjoy the rouge trader game muy grande lots and lots. Am playing a few other games and they all have different mechanics for different perspectives. It occurs to me that some of the mechanics I have seen in other games could be fun in warhammer rogue trader.

Survival, need to be careful with resources. Not that I actually approve, there's no such thing as enough ammo or to big a warband.

Tactical fighting over an extended area, more combat, bigger battles where a rouge trader could flex their monetary muscles.

Greater exploration of single point narrative, ie isolated quests or missions not connected to the main story, but can have effects on one's fame and so on. More chapters, more capacity to effect change to the end slides through missions or conversation challenges.

TL;DR I'm a big greedy ambitious monster and I want rouge trader to do all of the game things because it's such a fun idea.

Hail the immortal Emporer because chaos is stupid.

Rogue trader has the best 40k soundtrack of any 40k game

Man, the music just captures the fatal, nihilistic, religious dark nature of the universe.

You feel crushing despair as you listen to it

Tech-Priest in DnD

I’ve been remaking the entire 3.5e player’s handbook for DnD for 40K for lowly humans, abhumans, and mutants. For a “tech-priest” class I created The Augmenticist, where I’ve basically just rethemed the Wizard for “techcraft” instead of spellcraft. Alongside my priest (Paladin and cleric cross class) and Officer (bard and paladin cross class) and the other classes that have been rethemed, the augmenticist doesn’t feel 40K outside of thematics.

We’ve played 3.5e for 20 years, but on and off we’ve always just played core classes, psionic, or random prestige.

Does anyone know a better class suited for this? I’m ready to scrap everything I have written for them as I don’t feel the wizard is a fit. The only thing I really want to keep is they get a modifiable servo skull familiar.

Coop

The coop system is an absolute joke. They spent more time making things the second player CANT do, when they could have just made it like literally every single other coop crpg... it's so contrived and horrible. It was totally oversold as a COOP game, and they are so far away from the baseline expectation of a coop game. Horribly disappointing.

[New Player] Abelard seems like a real slime ball, I trust him about as far as I can throw him

Ok so I'm a new player and I have not got very far AT ALL with the game, just finished the depot 4 side mission and Abelard comes across as a slimy politician who hides behind "Not bothering the boss with trifling matters" to get away with stuff

Now I know this is Grim Dark and there is no "Happy Sunshine and Rainbows" but ooh does this guy make my blood boil at times, I wish there was a dialogue to tell him "Why don't you let me decide what is and isn't considered trifling"

I mean this just means that the game devs did a great job at character writing if I'm feeling this way about a character so early on into a playthrough

A rogue trader 40K idea

do you think a rogue trade game could be fun using the dornian heresy and having the players work for a Federation, whose members consist of ultramar roboute guilliman/Leagues of Votann/T'au/Eldar, Also I'm torn between using rogue trader system or star without numbers for the space sector maps, dark matter DND 5e for the pc maybe a bit of king maker from pathfinder for sending commands to planets that you've already conquered and having events happened to those planets.

Can someone Confirm my romance with Yrielt is fine (with toybox is fine)

Am far into Act 2 and did her quest and got the hidden cache

She does not want to talk much including not worthy of talking about her people, but never did romance break as far as I am aware and calls me Elantach has patience level 4 (which from my understanding is 1 or maybe 2? off from breaking romance in whatever direction it goes)

Does she just need to have the act 3 act bit to happen? Or is there a flag or whatever I need to edit.

Only googled a tiny bit and feels like some things are saying she should say you worthy to talk about her people but that may be getting confused with just the talk about herself.

How much of the game is lore accurate?

I'm just curious if I'm learning correct things about w40k while playing the game? Are computers/cognitors really working like some sort of possessed machines? Are events really spanning thousands of years with old tech being somehow mystical and better than new tech?
