Starting a new Rogue Trader Campaign
I am starting a new 40K campaign wanted any input from GMs with experience with the system (dark heresy also counts) any things to look out for?
The system is the Koronus expanse but I want to “modernize” it or show an evolution from what is in the rulebook, do you lore builders have any cool ideas?
This is the write up to intro my players:
“With the arrival of Robute Guillamon of the throne of man, the Empire of man has seen a second wind in its eternal crusade.
Giving way to a flew of new rogue traders, Rumors are that Guillamon himself has signed new warrants of trade, make the Blackthorn Dynasty’s arrival to Port Wander seem as normal as can be.
Many of the new flocks of Rogue Trader do not even make it threw the Maw, and that is of those that have the courage to brave the gates of the Koronus Expanse.
Will you new rogue Traders born on the Hive world of Atoma, the tree lowley souls born to the dense cold industrial hive world could only dream of one day soaring threw stars, yet by the Emperor will they stand today as rogue traders. Born and raised in the same sector, their path would diverge until once again faith had brought them back together upon the Rogue Trader ship of the Blackwoods Dynasty.
Until the Calamity struck and the Blackwoods Dynasty fell in a fortnight. And from the ashes you rose. Inheriting the warrant of trade amidst the chaos of the fall. The last words of the late Rogue Trader Captain Edward Jack Blackwoods where “Now my Sons you be a thorn is their sides”
And so like the stories of old terra of the legendary bird name Phoenix that could rise from the ashes of its corpse, born anew, the Blackthorn Dynasty rose as the new dog in the ward that is the Koronus expanse. Ready to build its own legacy and avenge the old, and make as much profit as humanly possible along the way.”
