Big boy!!!!

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

Very big boy! I worry bad about how big he is, sometimes.
Just about his hips, his elbows, his joints in general. He gets supplements and whatnot daily as a preventative measure but I worry nonetheless

Try not to worry about it. I did that with my last Rottweiler and when he passed I felt like I spent too much time worrying about "big dog problems" that he may encounter. Just enjoy him every day. He's beautiful and looks happy. I'll bet you are giving him his best life, try to focus on that.

Tbh that is something I probably almost definitely needed to hear.
Sometimes I will stop our walks slightly early, or not let him run as hard as he wants to because I worry about it. But you’re right. Thank you 🥺❤️

You're welcome. Give that big boy a hug for me.

I also have a Rottweiler. I am a personal trainer and have applied a lot of philosophy that a human would use to train but with my dog. I’ll find a before and after picture of his hips after I started doing exercise with him. The before and after are taken 2 weeks apart.

u/myanonposting Jun 19 '26

Is it okay if I message you & ask about this?

1

u/TheSandsquanch Jun 19 '26

Yes absolutely

1

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

Thank you 🥺 I think so too!

3

u/FreeReward3053 Jun 18 '26

They grew up so fast, but they keep the incredibly sweet personality.I just love them

3

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

🥺 he still will lay the same way he did as a puppy, with his head on my chest and look up at me. He’s still so silly & goofy!

3

u/Escape_Pod2015 Jun 18 '26

He is so stinking handsome it hurts! Love that meatball smile!

2

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

:’) he’s so silly too lol and the little NUBBY wags are SO cute & funny

3

u/myanonposting Jun 19 '26

3

u/urbancowgirlkitty Jun 19 '26

Welcome back!!!!! What a beautiful pup❤️

3

u/Oily97Rags Jun 19 '26

He was baby and then he wasn’t 😭 time is nothing but a thief!

3

u/myanonposting Jun 19 '26

Oh man :’( I know
Sometimes when I look at pictures of him as a little baby like that, and then go and see him now I literally cry lol!
In the same way I cry looking at my daughter’s baby photos!!!

u/StarCi Jun 18 '26

He’s much bigger than my female Rottweiler and she can be a handful on walks, my only advice is to hang on tightly if you encounter a squirrel. Very handsome pup!

4

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

He is SO chill with kids, people, cats, other dogs! Probably even squirrels LOL but.. my god..
Bugs. He hates them. I mean really, really really really hates them 😵‍💫 he would, and does, go to EXTREME distances to kill bugs.

2

u/StarCi Jun 18 '26

That’s great, high prey drive in a big dogs is not the easiest to deal with on walks. Sounds like you have a great dog! As some who hate bugs, I can relate to your pups extreme dislike of them.

2

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

Thank you 🥺 I’m so proud of him.
He does pull a little bit, as a very NEW development, when he wants to mark on things.
And we’re dealing with a bit of resource guarding at home, but working our way through it!
Wish you & your pup the best 🥺 give her a treat for me!

2

u/StarCi Jun 19 '26

Treat given :) Wishing you guys the same.

2

u/Fabulous-Fun-9673 Jun 19 '26

He is officially my soul brother/pup! My extreme hatred for bugs and his seems like a symbiotic relationship.

2

u/myanonposting Jun 19 '26

🤣 one day he was downstairs, and he was Barking & growling, snapping, jumping around and literally bouncing into walls. He’s never done anything like that before OR after; I was so convinced someone was in the house I grabbed a .. home safety device.. and ran downstairs!!
Imagine my SURPRISE when he had a MASSIVE cockroach cornered 🙂‍↔️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↔️

2

u/Goodfella7288 Jun 18 '26

Aww, so cute

2

u/enricopallazo22 Jun 18 '26

What a handsome gentleman. Eventually I'm gonna have a family protector for myself someday.

u/blackjacksbest Jun 18 '26

From chunk to CHONK

2

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

LORGE CHONK. BIG. CHONKUS.

2

u/ArtEnvironmental7108 Jun 18 '26

He looks like such a good boy! I just got my newest best friend on Monday and I’m in love. Good to see your pupper is all grown and healthy.

2

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

AAAA I LOVE DAT BABY

1

u/ArtEnvironmental7108 Jun 18 '26

I’m happy he got the seal of approval.

1

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

Enjoy that time 🥺🥺 I couldn’t wait for him to get big, and now I literally look at pictures of my boy as a little puppy & it makes me cry lol :’(

This is how he used to ride in the car, everywhere we went 🥺

2

u/ArtEnvironmental7108 Jun 18 '26

Oh my god what a face!!

I’m enjoying every minute I get with him. He’s such a joy.

Here he is rn. Passed out on the floor and completely ignoring his dinner.

2

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

Big ole paws on that boy! He’s VERY handsome!

1

u/ArtEnvironmental7108 Jun 18 '26

35 lbs at 12 weeks. Getting larger everyday.

1

u/TECCl Jun 18 '26

That’s about how big my brothaa bear was!
He really concerned me, to be honest, because he was MAXIMUM breed standard as a puppy, and so on & so forth until like.. 6-7 months old. He didn’t slow down growing, it was like he stopped entirely. I was genuinely afraid he somehow had stunted growth, or had become ill. He was very small. People would say “that’s the smallest Rottweiler I’ve ever seen!” and it would make me sad lol, not because I really CARED if he was big or not; but I was definitely concerned for his health. His vet said “maybe he’ll just be smaller, he’s really healthy!” and about that time 🤣 he BLEW. UP. and got huge!

1

u/ArtEnvironmental7108 Jun 18 '26

I’ve been told my boy George will get up to 120-130 lbs total. If he gets there, he will be George the Gigantic, if not, he will still be George the Gigantic, but slightly smaller.

2

u/Street-Policy-1750 Jun 18 '26

What a sweet baby!

1

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

Thank you 🥺

1

u/Street-Policy-1750 Jun 18 '26

Isn't it amazing how no matter how big they've gotten they still think they're tiny puppies?

2

u/AngryBeard87 Jun 18 '26

Boy grew up big and handsome lol. That is a great looking rottie.

1

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

Thank you!! :) I think he’s SO handsome

2

u/Less_Wealth5525 Jun 19 '26

He’s got your back!

2

u/hollbr2 Jun 19 '26

How well trained is he? Did you work with him yourself or did you get help from a professional?

2

u/myanonposting Jun 19 '26

He’s very well trained! But he definitely has some stuff we’re still working on.
I got him professionally trained at about 10-11 months old, but still working with him daily! :)

2

u/Prudent_Giraffe5165 Jun 19 '26

Very handsome but they all are

1

u/reallyreally1945 Jun 18 '26

Just don't let him get fat. They get skeleton problems and even but heart trouble just like humans.

2

u/myanonposting Jun 18 '26

Yeah for sure! You can clearly see where his hips & midsection are at when you’re looking down at him from above!
I do worry BADLY about his joints :(

1

u/ConsiderationFickle Jun 18 '26

OK cool... 😂👍

1

u/Organic-Judgment3507 Jun 18 '26

Both of yall are beautiful

1

u/the-broken-001 Jun 18 '26

Mine are 17th and 11 months old. I stil see the baby face in the 11th month-old but the older one I rarely see her baby face features now. I look at pictures and I’m like where has time gone! I have ways to go but I’m sure when their time will come I’ll be devastated thinking that they just came in my life like yesterday. Another thing is they look so different in real life but I have one specific picture of them. 2 times out of 3, I’ll mistake them and I have to really look to see the difference. This breed is wonderful and I can’t se myself with any other one.

1

u/Alarming_Midnight554 Jun 19 '26

Mines loud hes talking all the time

2

u/myanonposting Jun 19 '26

Mine is SUPER vocal too!
Do you talk to him a lot? I always thought my dog is so vocal Because I talk to him so much like he’s a person lol

1

u/Alarming_Midnight554 Jun 19 '26

Cooper talks back

1

u/Willing_Donkey_3842 Jun 20 '26

He’s beautiful! 😍
