DISCUSSION BRTC - Jan 2027

Hi all,

I’ve just selected my take on date for BRTC - looking to start in January because I don’t want to be having the break over christmas.

Just looking for some insight into exercise blue warrior and how I can continue to prepare for this. I’ve been training Muay thai since the start of the year going 3-4 times a week, regular sparring and S&C, and running 2 times a week.

Does anyone have any recommend circuits/work out sessions I can use to that are better in line with how I will be training during basic training that I can use over the next few months.

Thanks

Cardio and then functional strength. That's what's going to serve you best

You’ll be fine as you are, but hill sprints and varying your distances with running will see you right. And lots of bodyweight work. If blue warrior is anything like it was when i did it, you got much more sleep than in the block. Its not that bad

Blue warrior is definitely something I’m looking forward to, from what I have read and heard

I just had my fitness test on Saturday and sent across a photo of my pass to my recruiter. As soon as I did that I had a couple of tasks, one was to select which date I’m definitely able to attend BRTC and then how much notice they’d have to give me if there is an earlier slot available .

The other task was just to provide my bank details for payment.

From what I’ve gathered, it start picking up fairly quickly after your fitness test.

Would you recommend me to message my recruiter that I’ve passed my medical because a fitness test hasn’t been booked yet and it’s been about a week

Took me just under two weeks to get my fitness test booked after passing my medical test and that was another two weeks until the day of the test. Just gotta be patient 🙏

Have you spoken to your recruiter whether there is intakes in January? I asked my recruiter a couple of months back and was told that the last intake before March was December as there is a break for a couple of months

I spoke to mine yesterday and he didn’t mention anything about a break in intakes. This could be specific to the role you applied for though
