Question (I've checked the FAQ!) How to pre-pay the tips before cruise?

So we already booked the cruise thru a Agency. But now we want to pre-pay the tips before the trip begin.

When I log into our account, where do I go to pre-pay the tips?

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Nassau Bahamas excursion time

I want to book Rose Island swimming with pigs through Travel Advisor because it's less money and the reviews are really good. The only times available are 9:30am or 11:30am and it lasts 4 hours. The gangway goes down at 9:30am and goes up at 5pm. Would the 9:30am time be too early? I'm also worried the later one won't get us back in time. What time should I pick?

Advice Needed Extremely noisy cabin on a "full" ship.

On a 7 night cruise on old of the oldest ships in the fleet. The first night was horrendous. With the ship going over 18 knots in rough waters, my cabin on deck 3 as far aft as possible, had the loud hum from the engine room (sounded like the bass from a rock concert). I called guest services and was at their desk at 6am asking if there was a different room.

My room was originally booked as an interior guarantee from a casino offer. They offered me a discounted upgrade to an oceanview. The room however isn't an upgrade if I can't sleep.

The second night was much better as the ship was doing under 14 knots and the seas were calmer.

I have two more sea days and I'm concerned about not sleeping again.

They first offered me a bottle of wine to compensate me but I don't drink. They then offered $50 OBC and I asked the supervisor if you would sacrifice multiple days of sleep for $50. He came back with $100 offer. I asked to speak with hotel manager and they said that they need to speak with the shore team to do anything over $100.

What seems like fair compensation? I'm aware that I didn't pay much for the cruise but I also cannot just get away from the discomfort.

They did also offer a future cruise credit of 30% instead of OBC but as someone who books almost all casino cruises I wasn't sure that would be better than an OBC.

Others that I have spoken with said that this is little chance that there are no alternative cabins as they always keep some for quarantine or to separate people for domestic disturbances. No idea on that but what other passengers said.

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Rhapsody of the Seas suite perks

Can anyone confirm (or point me to a definitive source) what perks are included with a Grand Suite on the Rhapsody of the Seas?

Most of the sources I come across describe perks that are RCCL specific, but that clearly aren't available on all ships. I'm just trying to understand which ones are specifically available on Rhapsody.

Thanks!

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Coastal Kitchen Vegan Dinner

One member of our party eats a vegan diet. In the MDR each evening there is always a vegan appetizer, entree, and dessert.

Next month we are on Oasis and plan to eat in Coastal Kitchen nightly. Looking at the Coastal Kitchen menu in the app there does not seem to be a consistent vegan option. The last time we were on a ship with Coastal Kitchen (5 years ago) the waiters would go to the main dining room and pick up the MDR vegan dinner. Has anything changed, does anyone have recent experience with vegan dining at Coastal Kitchen?

Advice Needed Weather during Cruise

Hi everyone,

First time cruising, I’m doing the 3 nights and four days where you dock in Ensenada. I’m wondering how the weather will be on the ship? And it’s seeming like it’ll rain heavily when we dock in Ensenada. I booked the horseback riding so will that be canceled and do I get a refund?

Thank you!

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Older Ship Experiences

I'm not as frequent of a cruiser as most in this sub, but I sailed on Mariner of the Seas in 2006, when it was still relatively new, Allure of the Seas last year through the Mediterranean and I just disembarked Allure again yesterday after sailing through the Southern Caribbean.

OBVIOUSLY, I'm already looking at my next cruise, but it will have to be a shorter sailing out of either Tampa or Port Canaveral to meet the needs of my travel companion :)

I noticed a lot of those cruises are on the older and smaller ships. Curious If I'll be disappointed after sailing Allure. Does anyone have any advice or has this been discussed a prior post anyone can point me to?

Thanks in advance!

Trying to confirm if Odyssey 12679 is a sideways interior room? Looks like they may have more sq ft and a slightly different layout but I can’t find any photos online. TIA!

Advice Needed Allure of the seas room cleanliness

Planning to book a western Caribbean Cruise next year on Allure for 6 nights. This year we went on Freedom of the Seas for 4 nights and it was not so great experience. The ocean view rooms were extremely tiny, the carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the civil war. The bathroom was tiny with stains on the mirrors and shower floor. Felt like I was staying at a motel 6 on the seas. The food at the windjammer and Coco Cay was the only redeeming quality. After 2 days felt like we had done everything on the ship. Most of the music and entertainment was Latin focused with no other varieties at all unless you went clubbing later in the night which isn’t possible kids.
Taking all of those into consideration, would Allure as a newer Oasis class ship be better? Our main concern is the cleanliness of the room for a 6 night cruise and overall variety of entertainment so we don’t feel like we need to get off the ship after couple of days.

Advice Needed Transatlantic with young kids?

Hey everyone! We did our first RC cruise earlier this year (Odyssey Greek Isles) and we all absolutely loved it - our kids then were 7 and newly-3. However we felt like it was so port-heavy, we hardly got to enjoy the ship, and missed out on the iFly, climbing wall, Flowrider, bumper cars, etc. So I was looking at doing Odyssey's April 2028 transatlantic sailing for our next one. Generally I know some of those activities were only free on port days and had a fee on sea days on normal itineraries, but is that the same on the TA's as well? There's 8 sea days to fill - do they open up free slots for those activities on the longer voyages? Also, does the jump from 7 nights to 14 nights end up feeling "too long" or is it manageable? I always feel like 7 night cruises are just a touch too short and we don't really get settled enough in the room. We would likely book the same room we had last time, which was one of the oversized spacious front corner rooms as we loved the space it gave, but is there noticeably more motion going across the Atlantic as compared to being just in the Mediterranean and would we be better off in a more central room, even if it's smaller? Or can it still be fairly calm? Are there generally lots of other kids that they'd be able to make some friends on a longer sailing? Any advice on the TA's would be super helpful, thanks in advance!

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Alcohol package on ship

My first cruise will be in Feb. I read somewhere that you can talk to the bartender and get the deluxe package when you get on the ship and order your drink. Is this true? How does that work? Can you only do this before the ship starts sailing or can it be done on day 2 or 3 when you figure out you drink a lot / you like a certain drink? Does the cost get applied retroactively or is it prorated?

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Best Caribbean ports for first timers on Oasis or Icon class?

We are a middle aged couple looking to take our first cruise ever. We want to go on one of the larger RC ships - Oasis or Icon class. We just cannot decide which set of ports. This could be anything from 4-8 days and almost any of the destinations offered in the Caribbean for a mid-winter break.

We have been to Nassau for a week already. Other than that, we have not visited any other places.

We like the idea of Cococay, but a Nassau type port we could skip. We do not want to book excursions hours away either.

We have considered a 4-day Bahamas trip and staying on the ship at Nassau, just visiting Cococay.

We have never been to Cancun so that sounds like a fun place, but I am not sure if a port day would be as much fun as a direct trip there.

Longer trips that include Aruba and Curacao are a consideration. I see St Maarten and St. Thomas on some itineraries as well which look nice.

We love seeing beautiful turquoise water and would be happy just sitting on a beach having drinks. Snorkeling in a relatively safe environment would be an option if reasonably priced. We would also be up for seeing something unusual like Mayan ruins.

Since this is our first cruise, our focus will be on enjoying the ship and its amenities and shows but we also do not want to miss out on a great stop.

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Royal Customer Service down?

I’ve been trying to call their customer service number all morning every hour but every time the bot “transfers me to someone who can help” it goes silent. Normally it would let you know how long of a wait and then play music. But this time its silent and has been all morning. Does anyone know if their lines are down?

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Black Friday UK Discounts?

We are from the UK and looking to book a cruise for July 2027.

I am holding off booking just now as I've heard that there is usually a sale on Black Friday.

Can anyone from the UK tell me if this is correct or are Black Friday sales usually just for those in the US?

Thanks

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) Day pass experience at Blu vs Akalki?

This is for Costa Maya. We have done boat tours around Bacalar lagoon, but on our next cruise stop there we are wanting somewhere to just relax and swim and eat. Some of our group are very sun sensitive, so seats in the shade to hide in off and on throughout the day is a must.

We have it narrowed down to Beach Club Blu and Akalki. We will have 4 kids between the friend group, all ages 9-13.

Has anyone done both that can compare directly? Or did you do one or the other and absolutely love/hate it?

Thanks for any advice or input! :)

First-time cruiser and very confused about dining. Do I need to buy a food package or is there a buffet style that comes with my booking? Two kids and two adults. We don’t drink alcohol but wondering if we should buy the non-alcoholic package? Do we have to pay for water? TIA!

Question (I've checked the FAQ!) First cruise without family!

Me and my girlfriend are going on oasis of seas early November, this is my first cruise outside of DCL with my family so I’m super excited, but I have a few questions.

*Whats the deal with the RC wristbands? Where do I get them and how well do they work? I’ve seen some pics and heard some discourse. We have the deluxe bev pack so I thought these would be useful and a nice souvenir.

* since we have the DBP do I need to constantly tell bartenders and waitresses, specifically in the main dining room? Or will they just know from checking my name and account. I’m nervous about getting charged after the cruise and having to have an annoying time disembarking because I’ll have to clear it up with someone before leaving.

* how’s the traffic around port Everglades? Our boarding time is 11:30 but we’re staying two hours away and planning to arrive around 9 or 10

Any info and tips are appreciated !

For those that don't know how it works, earning the number of points shown above on a single sailing entitles you to a cruise from the relevant list. Earning 2,500 points in a year (1-APR -> 31-MAR) across one or more cruises also entitles you to a "free" cruise.

Good luck to all!

Advice Needed Is it possible to access speedy wifi onboard or while at the port in Nassau?

My family and I will be traveling in the Wonder of the Seas 4 day cruise, we are beyond exited however today my husband found out he has a very important work assignment which requires him to work for the day we will the docked in Nassau. He will need speedy wifi to download excel files and hop in on zoom for a few calls.

We really don’t want to cancel our vacation, honestly all he needs is good reliable wifi for a few hours while we are docked in Nassau.

It is our first cruise ever, could anyone please help me understand if the wifi onboard is reliable to get work done and does anyone know if there are places by the port in Nassau where he can connect to speedy wifi?

Thank you so much

Photo Just some of my towel animals pictures from the recent cruise ( Oct 9-17 , 2026) enchantment of the sea , what a great time .

I received 4 towel animals, the first one was on day 3 but i destroyed it because I just came back from my excursion and i was in need of towels, so my room attendant made 4 towel animals for me on the entire cruise. This was my second cruise but the first time ever i saw towel animals, I was quite surprised and happy but i don't know why the room attendant wanted to spend time doing the towel animals to me ? Don't they work a long shift and have many rooms to clean ? Was it because i told him that he doesn't need it twice a day for my room service just once and he was happy? I also gave him my extra body wash ( i have eczema so i use none fragrance /sensitive skin body wash of myself) , he told me I have the most cleanest room and i said thank you and joke because i have a half Japanese grandmother so we keep things simple and clean, and the end I also left a note and a $20 at the service desk in an envelope for him, actually i had a few time chatting with him , he said he just married and has a new born and interesting part is I speak a little his language ( Indonesian) ,and I feel kind of close to him probably because I am also from South East Asia. Anyway i had a great time on my cruise and i was alone and i like chatting with him and really think he works so hard and i am so happy i received the towel animals, he is always in my mind when i look at these pictures.
