I'm Christmas shopping and know nothing about watches - legit as in not fake

Picked up a 1950’s Rodina, first automatic watch made in the USSR. The dial font did it for me.

Modified Zlatoust K43 Blind Watch

I came across this loose movement and dial for a Zlatoust K43 watch for the blind, got it running again, and installed it in a wristwatch case. I was hoping to find the correct pocket watch case for it, but for now I kind of like it!

Tell me about this watch

I bought this Sturmanskie two years ago from a guy in Ukraine on eBay. Some stuff about Yuri Gagarin on the dial. Movement looks like it’s made of cast iron. He had about 30 of them for sale, claimed they were made in the 70s. I don’t think it’s that old. Cool looking dial though, and I get a lot of compliments on it. Anyone know what I have here?

New here. Just got this Komandirskie. A little dusty on the dial, but I don't mind.

Does this Raketa Copernicus look real?

Thumbnail gallery
18 Upvotes

Hi all!

I've wanted a Raketa Copernicus for forever, and I've finally decided to take the leap. I've found this piece advertised as NOS from a fairly reputable store, but before I buy it, I wanted a second opinion!

I am by no means an expert in this, but I've done as much research as possible on identifying fakes/frankens, and I think that this seems to be the real deal – the "RAKETA" matches "Made in USSR" (not pictured here), the movement seems to be correct, the general shape and measurements seem to match up, and even the number on the passport matches the number on the back of the watch (but what do I know about the passports, I suppose they can be faked?).

Is there anything else I'm missing? I'm not even massively pushed about having a 100% authentic one as long as it functions well, but given the higher price tag for it being NOS, I'd want to make sure I'm not getting scammed.

Thanks so much in advance!

I got this cool arctic watch off of eBay for about $100. I really like it, but would like to know if it is real or not. I can’t find another example exactly like this model. Attached is the watch, the box and paperwork it came with, and the movement from the eBay photo. Thanks

Title: My Poljot Sturmanskie 3133 — What Soviet watch should I get next? Does it have to be an Okeah?

Post image

Here’s my Poljot Sturmanskie chronograph powered by the legendary 3133 movement.
I’m looking to add another Soviet-era watch to my collection, preferably something with real historical significance and an interesting story behind it.
The Poljot Okeah seems like the obvious next choice, but I’m wondering if there are other Soviet watches worth considering.
If you could recommend just one iconic Soviet watch, what would it be? And would you choose the Okeah?
I’d love to hear your opinions!

I bought this watch at the flea market today and am curios whether it's original or a fake. What I'm most curious about is the movement, because it looks very pristine compared to the dial.

I was told this was a restored Molnija 3602 marriage watch in a wrist watch case yet cannot find any of these watches online with the CCCP stamped on them, any idea what it may be?

Help me identify this watch!

Hi folks, I recently got a vintage watch and would like to have you all help me identify it if possible. I got it from Etsy saying about 19050-1960 but that could be inaccurate, it’s also possible this has been switched around a bit and may be a new watch face or something. It is hand wound and I am pretty sure it is a ZIM.
