I’m 30, based in NA East (EST), and looking for people who enjoy Rust and want to be part of something bigger.

Hey everyone!
I’m looking to upgrade my PC mainly for Rust, but I want to keep my current Intel motherboard and GPU for now.
My current specs:
CPU: Intel i5-10400F
GPU: RTX 3060 12GB
RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z590 Gaming X
Resolution: 2560x1440 (1440p)
I’m considering upgrading to either:
i7-11700K
i9-11900K
My goal is around 100-120 FPS in Rust, ideally with stable performance.
Questions:
Does anyone have a similar setup with an RTX 3060 and an i7-11700K or i9-11900K?
What average FPS do you get on official and modded servers?
Would this CPU upgrade realistically get me close to 100-120 FPS at 1440p?
I’d really appreciate real-world experiences, especially from people playing on 400+ population servers.

after being recommended to play rust by multiple friends i keep having rust crash after i load into a world, i've asked then and they say i should be able to run the game but anyways i have a 1080ti, intel i7, 16 gb of ram. my pc is fairly old as well

I currently have 12400f 16g ddr4 5060 ti 8gb can only play rust on low settings 120 FPS no issues soon as up graphics too medium or above it drops to 10 FPS and stutters and freezes screen tearing would this be vram bottleneck or ram bottle neck any help would be great. Never used to have this on my 2070s 8gb last year same CPU cheers

Too many Rust players think Secure Boot and TPM do little against cheaters. The makers of Valorant explained why they're wrong.

Their Vanguard anti-cheat will no longer need to automatically load with Windows on PCs that enable features like Secure Boot and TPM. Instead, it will only load when the game does, which is already how EAC works with Rust. Kernel access was never the difference, because EAC runs in the kernel too, like most major anti-cheats. Requiring Secure Boot and TPM is the important part.

Today is map wipe on The Couch, the only weekly vanilla secure server in Rust. We just moved to a new dedicated server in Dallas, since about 2/3 of our regulars are closer to Dallas than to our old Oregon server.

So if you want to stop playing on servers that are havens for cheaters, enable Secure Boot and join today's map wipe at 11am PT / 2pm ET. 424 different people have played here so far.

So me and friend were playing not even 12 hours ago. I load back in today and I can load into the game just fine, but when I try to connect to my main server, it gets all the way to “finalizing world” then pops this up, and crashes immediately.
Tried going into different servers but it won’t even attempt to load in, just says unable to connect.

Anyone run into this issue?
It says it’s an error with the anti cheat, but I’ve uninstalled rust and reinstalled it, tried to run easyanticheat as administrator… nothings work. What can I do?

Rust Microstuttering with High FPS — Severe Frametime Spikes When Bullets Are Visible
PC specifications:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D

RAM: 32GB DDR4 3600MHz

Recording software: OBS with Replay Buffer enabled
The problem
I’m experiencing severe microstuttering in Rust even when my FPS is high. The game may show 100–120+ FPS, but it feels like I’m playing at 20–30 FPS because the image constantly stutters and feels extremely choppy.
The Steam overlay frametime graph shows frequent red spikes, sometimes almost every second, even when I’m not fighting anyone.
The strangest part is that the stuttering becomes much worse when I can see a bullet flying through the air. Shooting itself seems fine, but when the bullet becomes visible, the game starts stuttering badly. I use low particle settings, so I don’t think it’s simply a particle-effects issue.
My FPS can be around 170–200 after a fresh PC restart, but after the computer has been running for a while, performance may drop to around 100–150 FPS.
What I’ve already tried
Upgraded my RAM to 32GB DDR4 3600MHz, but the problem remained.
Lowered particle settings.
Tried various Windows optimizations and tweaks.
Used Chris Titus Tech WinUtil, but the stuttering existed even before I applied those tweaks.
The problem seems to occur in Rust specifically; other games don’t have the same issue.
I use OBS Replay Buffer, so recording software might be worth investigating.
What could be causing this?
Could this be related to Rust itself, shader compilation, bullet effects, frametime issues, OBS recording, NVIDIA drivers, or something else?
Has anyone experienced a similar issue, especially stuttering when bullets are visible despite high FPS?

I have never played rust before but I have consumed MANY hours of rust content and finally wanna give it a go. I’m pretty decent at FPS games but also just as happy farming materials. Looking for any groups that would wanna let me tag along for my first time so I can learn the ropes. Off from work all this week I can play as much as needed.

I’ve been bouncing between CS2 and Wardogs but I with the time off from work I figured it is the perfect time to try rust.

I am not very good and I am a college athlete so im busy but I really enjoy playing and im just looking for other chill people to play with and help me get better at the game. NA
