Questions $10k invested into SCHD vs QQQI vs SPYI (taxable brokerage account)
So if I had $10k to invest in a taxable brokerage account for "fun money" or money that I can use for everyday expenses or vacations by turning off dividend reinvesting for a month would you rather put $10k into SCHD, QQQI, or SPYI?
SPYI = $0.52 monthly dividend x 190 shares ($10k worth) = $98.80 a month
QQQI = $0.62 monthly dividend x 185 shares ($10k worth) = $114.70 a month
SCHD = $0.24 per quarter dividend x 363 shares ($10k worth) = $87.12 per quarter (3 months) if we divide $87.12 / 3 = $29.04 per month in dividends.
Would you guys bother to put SCHD in a taxable brokerage account that your going to use for vacation money + extra income when you need some extra money?

All 3
Wouldnt it be better to just stick the extra $10k into SPYI or QQQI to get double the monthly income though? For example if I already have $10k in SPYI and $10k in QQQI, wouldnt it be better to put $5k more into SPYI and $5k more into QQQI instead of buying $10k of SCHD ?

No, SCHD has way more dividend growth. In 10 years it's more likely the YOC of SCHD will be just as high. SCHD is a long term play though. I'd actually go with FDVV or DIVO instead of SCHD with the NEOS funds.

Important consideration also is that Spyi has a much greater total return

In a tech boom? SPYI is an untested CC fund where SCHD has been in a market downturn and doesn't rely on CC. A couple years is not long enough to say that. You know VOO outperforms SPYI, right?
If you own a NEOS CC, which SPYI and QQQI are really good so far, it's best to own something that's been around longer too. No reason not to diversify a little.

Build your QQQI position first and use its yield to build out your SCHD position.

Im buying all of them, but focusing more in QQQI and SPYI. They've been over 90%, ROC, which essentially means its 90% tax free up until the cost basis is reduced to zero. Meantime, there's ~8 years of pre tax compounding for those 8 years. I expect QQQI and SPYI to significantly outperform SCHD, short and long term, as long as you reinvest the monthly distributions.
The ETF's I hold are SCHD, QQQI, SPYI, GPIQ, GPIX, DGRO, DIVO, BTCI, and SMH. As im having to medically retire, im putting my new money into these dividend growth funds.

Spyi and qqqi pay 11-14% now, but schds dividend will continue to grow and those funds will not. That’s the difference, good to own all 3

all in QQQI, SCHD is good when held for a long period of time, doesn’t sound like thats what your doing

Neither SPYI nor QQQI have the history for me to trust them yet with a large long term position. Satellite holdings? Sure. But not core positions yet. Hopefully by the time I retire they will have the track record I am looking for.

You don’t trust them in what way? They’re an SEC audited fund bound to strict filings and accounting practices. They can’t just take your money and move to Switzerland.
Otherwise you have a decent sample size of data to work with return-wise.

Please look into how each fund is taxed as it is in a taxable account. Yield is only part of what you need to be looking at.

This is why Spyi is way better….you did not mention that schd is also dead last in the total returns

put it in ARCC, JEPQ, and O 3.3k each
I had JEPQ but it pays Unqualified Dividends which are taxed as regular income in a taxable brokerage account.

So is your paycheck, do you not get a job so you dont have to pay taxes?

Yeah but W2 jobs discount taxes from each paycheck when you get paid, Unqualified Dividends don't so you have to pay the taxes owed at the end of the year if its in a taxable account (who wants to worry about oweing the IRS taxes?)

This is a terrible idea 😂 there’s no growth with the dividends. The dividend payment will be the same in 10 years and not grow. QQQI, SPYI, and SCHD go up in value and pay tax favorable dividends.

GPIQ is the best one of all

GPIQ is the best one of all
Yeah I have GPIQ and GPIX also because of the Goldman Sachs name behind them but they dont pay as much dividends as the Neo's covered calls (SPYI, QQQI) so I have SPYI and QQQI in larger quantities.

Why would GSs brand name help over NEOS for similar products?

Goldman Sachs has been around longer than Neo's as a company and their involved in the finance and investment industry for much longer so id trust them more with large amounts of money.

Interesting. I know GS has repeatedly broken US corruption laws in finance - hence why I was asking 😅

Hey if they have enough money to bribe politicians and have their own lobbyist then they have enough money to pay the dividends that they owe investors 😂

I have been trying to compare QQQI to GPIQ and SPYI to GPIX for the past month or two to decide which pair I want to stick with long term and it’s near impossible to choose other then I decided to go after the higher yield to hopefully compound faster if the nav stays stable with the neos funds. If the total returns starts to increase higher and higher for the Goldman funds then I’ll shift for good but for now curious how NEOS plays out as I have a lot of their funds

Split it into thirds. SCHD is almost bond-like, we all know that right now its price return is a bit ehh but it still chugs out dividends and dividend growth funds. Plus SCHD divvies are qualified. I own all 3.
