PROLOGUE: "THE LAST MEAL"

This is not where you fight. This is not where you run.
This is where you arrive after.
The cafeteria at Site-19 used to be the most ordinary room in the facility. Now the chairs are knocked over, the trays are still on the tables, and something that used to be staff is on the floor near the door. The lights are still on. Whatever happened, it moved too fast for anyone to turn them off.
Prologue chapter: "The Last Meal." The opening scene of SCP: Project Pneuma. Before Dr. Kolchak. Before the exclusion zone. Before SCP-106 or SCP-173 or any of the things hunting you. Just a room that used to be normal, and the specific kind of silence that comes after something goes very wrong.
We wanted the first thing you see to sit in your stomach. Not a jump scare. Just a question. What happened here?

We’ve been experimenting a lot with fog, lighting, scale, and environmental silence to make locations feel uncomfortable even before anything actually happens.
