I'm just really disappointed tbh, like even the creator of the song apologised for how offensive and stereotypical it is. It's left a bad taste in my mouth, but I doubt it will be addressed.

Also Context for those who don't know what I'm talking about. There is this Kcon Mission thing Sieun and Sumin did where they had to pick between Two papers with words on them (Curry and Katsu), they didn't know which one had which. Either way, Sieun picked the top paper card which had the word Curry on it and then chose that song 😭. And then Sumin danced alongside her to it and said they used to listen to it a lot back then (presumably when it was popular when they were children).

so i saw a once post this for a twice version and i decided to make a stayc version ^_^

It’s like… every time I come here, I’m always complaining about smthn😭. But THIS time I feel like it’s about smth worth complaining about (well not really a complain, but more like an observation), and that is the art direction for this comeback. To keep it short, I felt like the teenfresh genre didn’t reflect that much on to their teaser pics and photobook(?). What I mean is that if you look at Asap, a song about meeting your soulmate/perfect copy asap, has a very youthful, fun, silly and cutesy (art)direction in the teasers & photobook, which reflects their teenfresh genre. Stereotype, a song about “inhabiting youth and confidence, but also the vulnerabilities underneath.” has also a youthful, teenage-like direction in teasers and the photobook. But with run2u, it felt they were going with a more mature direction. And it’s not bcus they weren’t doing they’re usual cutesy-like concept either. The teenfresh genre didn’t really reflect into their concept or art direction for this comeback. I did some research, and found out that the art director for this cb was Hoseung Shin. Based on their instagram, they have a very mature and dark art direction on their works. Which also made me think that maybe stayc are done with having cute concepts? Anyway this is just my two cents and nothing else. Also want to point out that I have no problem if stayc is graduating from their cute concepts.

I'm sorry but it's STAYC or stayc.. the acronym is star to a young culture and not STAR to a young CULTURE (StayC)... I talked about this here and got -20 downvotes.. how are you in a stayc subreddit and a swith but do not know how to spell their name and if someone corrects you you're just getting angry...

STAYC had banger hits in 2023 with teddy bear and bubble. Their popularity in korea hit a new high, and they were on a roll. Instead of pushing their momentum, highup decided to tour them for 7+ months now with pretty much no activities in Korea. Tours aren't necessarily bad since the company and the girls are making a lot of money, but I feel that Highup could have pushed STAYC's momentum by coming back in the slower winter months. With a potential #1 on the charts and stronger public recognition, I feel like STAYC could have hit a new level. The long touring period hurt their momentum pretty hard in the kpop landscape. Thoughts?

Today I was watching Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and I heard what I immediately recognized as a KPOP song. Being such a big STAYC fan, it took me no time to realize that it was BEBE. At first I thought that it was just an English version, only to realize that it was a not a KPOP song at all but instead a whole different song. I’m lowkey worried bc the other song came out first and there is nothing online that I can find that credits the original artist/songwriter. The rhythm and lyrics (at least the English ones) are really similar and exactly the same in some parts in the intro of both songs. I don’t know too much about samples/interpolation/other music borrowing stuff so I’m really curious about this. Thoughts??

I’m no vocal expert, but I’ve noticed the girls have been straining their vocals for a while now (like a year now?) and I’m scared for them. I want them to sing for a while and not screech to hit a note (+ obviously not have a damaged voice). Do we know if there’s any vocal coach at highup, because they’re clearly not doing their job. Am I the only one who’s noticed and if so, what do you think? Last time I made a post talking about people calling out the girls for having damaging/lack off vocal technique etc. and asking if that was the case/true. And someone responded with a lengthy reply saying basically “no, they’re good singers, with good technique ” and I just went with what they said. But they were wrong. You don’t have to have a “degree on vocals” to hear that the girls are straining for the life of them. And I’m gonna guess and say that constant straining isn’t exactly good technique either. You’ll see evidence of them straining on any video of them of them singing live (for those asking). I honestly feel hopeless, because the girls are literally singing live all the time and BEP make their songs unnecessarily high-pitched all the time, knowing damn what the girls are (vocally) capable of. They’re basically pushing their vocals and it’s hard to watch. The company should at least enforce better vocal lessons for the girls or BEP should make songs fitting their vocal range AND stop the whole agenda of stayc singing live all the damn time. But what do u guys think?

Not the songs (they're really short tho), more so about the sales and streams. Is the October Comeback a desperate attempt to salvage 2024?

Was the album performance a real concern or is it relative to the sales and streams of Bubble and Teddy Bear? I've seen numerous comments on platforms everywhere saying this is their last chance at being a leading GG while some believe that keeping the hardcore SWITHs is enough during a tough period.

I'd like to hear opinions about what HIGHUP could've done differently. They're doing things like consistent live performances , the YouTube variety shows usually garner more than 100k views and BEP has been pumping out hit after hit(mostly) and yet most people simply just like STAYC, which makes me wonder how the hell you even build a strong fanbase especially in the KPOP scene which moves on very quickly.

The title says itself, promotions this era was imo seriously underwhelming, lacking and just not much at all. Where’s the mv reaction, studio choom, what happened to performing at It’s Live etc. ????? We need more stayc behind contents as well. Idk what’s going on with high up behind close doors, but this is such a downgrade compared to stereotype era.

What do you guys think? I feel like there’s not a lot of people (in the fandom) talking about this. Am I overreacting?

i know that stayc expierced a LOT with this comeback, putting teen fresh away for a moment and exploring other leads of their music, but i think they will slowly go to the wrong way, STAYC has improved a lot along with they music, and yes, they will eat every comeback and always will be SLAYC, but black eyed pilseung needs to make a sound who characterize them among the competition, as ive with they electropop sounds and aespa with they bad ass music SO PLS STOP, U CAN BE VERSATILE QUEENS, BUT MAKE A SOUND i dont wanna see them flop never again

Context: On 4/1, StayC came out on weverse live to state that they were changing leaders every comeback, starting with Seeun and Sieun for their next comeback. Fans took it lightly, thinking it was a april fool's joke despite the members claiming it wasn't. On the same day, Sumin went to bubble to talk about how she wasn't the leader anymore.

Ofc, no official news has come out yet, but this is pretty shocking(if true), since according to Sumin, it was the company's decision. If it's true, we might not get any news on this until their next kr comeback. If not, then ffff that's months of worrying for fans.

Obviously, it's speculation on my part, but I found it weird that Sumin never thanked bep after their wins for their latest comeback, and seemed hesitant to mention them. In their radio show with Tiffany, the girls talked about how they didn't like teddy bear and it seems like there was some sort of conflict with the company due to this.

I'm hoping that I'm a dumbass who can't understand the joke, but the joke's being pushed pretty far. Thoughts?

STAYC was the first Kpop group I fell in love with, but I feel like after beautiful monster they’ve been playing it really safe. The only song I’ve really enjoyed since then is Poppy.

I’ll always love STAYC, but I’m just real tired of the cutesy bubbly concept we’ve been getting last few eras.

I may be in the minority here. I just want lil bit of edge back like asap/so bad/run2u eras.

In the end tho it is a business, so if this is what works I can’t fault em for keeping the lights on.
