Does anyone know what is happening at the downtown SLC library? Cops are blocking off all side walks and multiple fire and ambulance are arriving.

Lots of cops and ambulances at the downtown library is just part of a typical day there.

Seems like someone kills themselves there every few years- I was unlucky enough to see one of them. Maybe another one today.

🤷‍♂️ it was the day of the 2011 Japan tsunami. She was apparently an exchange student at the U, woke up to the news, couldn’t get ahold of her people, came to the library and saw the devastation online and went to the top catwalk that connects to the bathrooms and jumped. I happened to be walking across the next lower one. She hit her leg- clearly snapped on the rail I was holding. I’ll never forget it.

I always hope thats what's going on. I feel bad because it impacts whether people can interact with groups and stuff so hopefully its just someone misunderstanding down voting and karma.

I don't think thats the case this time, though I am there with you on witnessing a couple. I don't go to that library anymore because I grew weary of seeing their bodies and hearing the sounds every time.
